I recently rooted my S7 Edge. However, after rooting, I realized that my Pokemon Go(hehe ) is not allowing me to catch pokemons cuz it detects my rooted phone.
Thus, I tried to use Hide my Root app to hide the su binary. However, it says that it cannot find the su binary. I reinstalled SuperSU and it says that it has successfully updated the file. I also checked using a root checker and it found it. I tried a couple other apps and all can't seem to fix this.
A while back, I tried to unroot it from the SuperSU app but then I got stuck in a bootloop. Thus, I had to reroot my phone using Odin and the same root firmware to get it out of the loop and run back normally. I am from Indonesia and I can't find the stock firmware of my country... I am so frustrated...
Can anyone help me out with this? If I can't get the su binary issue fixed, I wanna unroot it but I am worried that it will get stuck in another bootloop if I'll be installing the firmware of another country...
Someone please help me... I'm new to this... D,:
what csc are you on?
same here. stock firmware for indonesia haven't released yet

having the same issue but on the i9505. mine was on I9505XXUEMJ5. recently updated from 4.2.2 to 4.3 without any issues. Rooted with cf auto root and installed perfectly. But after reboot, superSU was not on installed and device was not rooted (verified through titanium backup and root checker). tried installing supersu through google play but says "there is no su binary installed..."
im also having trouble with recovery (recovery is not seandroid enforced) with the dead android (red triangle icon) when booting into recovery
don't know what happened. same procedure i followed before when i upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.2 and did not encounter any issues.
i would appreciate any help. thanks.
ok, after reading and trying some things i read on the forums, i managed to 'repair' and install CWM recovery on my phone.
CWM works fine when booting to recovery but after normal boot, still no root access.
tried wiping dalvik cache, fix permissions, re-flashing supersu update (v1.65) but still after normal boot supersu still says "no su binary installed".
will try a few more ideas but if anyone can help, would greatly appreciate it.
After I updated from Android 5 to the new Marshmallow 6.0.1 update by wiping my device, it turns out that root still exists on my device, even after uninstalling by SuperSU when it was in Android 5 before the wipe. I've also tried the Smart Switch method but Rootchecker and any root applications are coming up with errors and wont let me do anything. I don't want to try installing the 6.0.1 version of root incase it bricks my phone.
Anyone know a fix for this? Would be very much appreciated!
bump
Unistalling supersu and/or wiping the device alone wont do it.You must flash stock firmware which you can find at sammobile.com register and download one for your variant.after that flash it with odin(there are many guides on how to use it) and that should do it.
I've been trying to root my GP using the KingRoot and Odin methods, but came out empty with both methods
Summarized attempt
- Installed the newest KingRoot apk into my phone and installed
- Gave me an "Could not find root but try anyways" error and processed
- Finished successfully and confirmed root with Root Checker
- Ran SuperSume Pro and it stalls
- Reset phone and it bricks (infinite T-Mobile opening loop)
- Factory rest using Odin and stock firmware (from samsung-firmware)
- Try using pre rooted firmware (CF Auto Root Fortuna3a and another firmware I found) after, but both failed during the Odin process
If anyone would like me to go into more detail about my attempt, help me through a process, or link me to another root solution I would greatly appreciate it
I don't have the same model of grand prime, but I'm pretty sure you could just flash supersu.zip then install supersu.
Maybe wait until somebody else can verify I'm right, but I'm pretty sure it works on other models. You can find it along with other info here in the forums.
Hope it helps!
Edit; reread your post and had an idea, how about using the kingroot apk to root, verify with root checker, then try supersu or Super User from the app store?
Doubt it could hurt, if root checker is saying you have root, then it'd be safe to deduce that it's the rights management app and not the root process itself that's the issue

Here this is how I rooted my g530t http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development/kernel-root-root-sm-g530t-5-1-1-t3203476
I figured out it was the Google FRP Lock that was the cause of the problems lol, after turning on the OEM unlocking (found in the Developer options in settings) the root worked fine using the TrapKernel MD5 with Odin
Hello. New here.
I rooted my S7 G930A running Nougat 7.0 following this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-s7-att-g930a-g935a-t3410538
I actually found the guide somewhere else, but these are the files and instructions I used.
Rooting worked with no issues, and my phone works fine. Now I am interested in unrooting the device because of applications that won't work due to the safety net API knowing the phone is rooted.
I have already tried many things. There is an unroot.bat that comes with the files downloaded in the guide, but running that doesn't seem to actually unroot. SuperSU is still installed, and applications still don't work. I have also tried deleting the files using the ES File Manager, but I can only locate one "su" file which will not delete, and the superuser.apk or supersu.apk files are nowhere to be found. When trying to full unroot using SuperSU, I get the error "Uninstall failed!" I have also tried going back to the stock firmware using odin, but odin fails to install that as well.
Are there any current ways of unrooting that I'm missing?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Also, if this helps my baseband version is G930AUCS4BQC2
Okay, so I think I solved my own issue here. I was using the modified version of odin to install the stock firmware. Used the official odin and went back to G930AUCU4BQA6.
I have an additional question now. Since it reset the phone, any application that I made a system application is no longer a system app now right? But if I re-root the device, make the same apps system apps, and then use odin to upgrade to G930AUCS4BQC2 again it will unroot and my apps will still be system apps?
Thanks

If you flash any ODIN file, it will wipe the system partition and then replace it with the one in the package. There's no way to get rooted system changes to persist through an ODIN.

anyone help ?
S7 edge I do root via the SuperSU flashable zip file via a custom recovery. Other methods don't seem to work well with S7 on nougat because the user data partition needs to be reformatted in custom recovery (TWRP usually) in advance when you want to root the phone.
You'll need to backup the phone before hand and set it up from its initial state after rooting it.

can u please help me on how to root via superSU flashable zip ? and will I lose all my data by this method ?
thanks,
Do not use SuperSu to root S7 as its not compatible and only meant to be used on older phones. It will not work on Android 8.
