Anyone else having this error on tmobile? I tried removing and replacing sim, clearing cache partition, connecting to two different networks, and clearing the cache and data from the wifi calling app. It worked on my S6 edge, but now I cant seem to get it functional. when im connected to wifi I have no problems with data.
This happened to me when I was rooted and moved the su.img to the system partition (data partition was encrypted when the su.img was mounted). I removed it from the system partition and then wifi-calling worked again.
If not what is posted above. It's a Tmo problem in your area.

If you have good WiFi you should have WiFi calling anywhere. Check you CSC - should be TMB. Fooling around with some mods got mine changed and it would not connect.
I dont get it. If i'm anywhere but work, it works fine. If I'm home or connected to a friends hotspot, it works.
What is even more odd is if I take the sim out of my S7 edge and put it in my S6 edge, wifi calling works on there, even at work?

I take that back. Wifi calling isnt working on any network now.
I did root. Then I immediately wiped and flashed the stock firmware again... maybe I used the wrong CSC? Can I odin the CSC file alone again?

I ODIN'd the last one as part of setting up the whole PD8 firmware and it fixed my WiFi calling and have not really had any issues elsewhere with rooted PD8.

So you put "CSC_TMB_G935TTMB3APD8_CL7856276_QB9546824_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar" in the CSC section instead of home_csc_tmb?

look in settings>wireless & networks> more> tethering & portable hotspot. this is where you can toggle it. or if you want an app back on your home screen try a long press on home screen>shortcuts>activities>settings>tethering and portable hotspot. and viola you have it back

try reflashing stock rom unrooted and it should come back. it may have to do with the gsm unlock you did but reverting to stock and then rerooting should fix it for ya.
@Andr3s - you did allow the sprint updates to run after you rooted (or installed the current ROM), right?
If the sprint updates don't run, the hotspot won't show up.

Hi, I had the finished version in AMF9, I did downgrade the modem to MDC to unlock and work in GSM mode, then went back to update the modem to AMF9, I root the phone and the next day the phone using the option disappeared and I have the latest version of Sprint.
You wrote AMF9 twice, so I assume that is not a typo. The latest Sprint update is MF9 - you are on MF9, right?
Did you install the hotspot mod? If so, when? were you on MDC modem? or MF9 modem? (which mod did you flash?)

Hello This was what I did
1 - updating my phone to version MF9.
2 - Flash MDC Modem version
3 - Run the unlock to work on GSM
4 - I returned back to making flash MF9
5 - I did the root of MF9
6 - Install all my apps and when I looked at the option of the option links Hotspot disappeared, and when I install any of these tethering app says "Hotspot not Supported". but the strange thing is that before if it worked.
Also install the Hotspot Modem, both odexed and deodexed dome and nothing.

You indicated that it worked before - do you mean - before step 1 in your list?
Here's my understanding of how this should happen. When you wiped your phone, and installed the new ROM/modem/etc, the phone should do a handsfree activation with Sprint when you first boot up. If this activation is skipped, the hotspot (and the sprint bloatware) doesn't get installed.
Sorry if I'm being confusing - hope this helps.

A it should have been that, I do not turn the phone on Sprint, since I'm outside the United States, that hurts.
thanks
So I had this problem with a custom ROM in the past so I changed to a different one.
However, the rom didn't 'click' with me so I decided to stick with the stock ROM.
I downloaded it from sammobile.com, it's N900W8 so I downloaded the Telus variant (my carrier)
However upon installing the rom, the carrier bloatware it came with was Bell.
The filename does end with _TLS so I know I downloaded the right one. I don't know if this is the source of the issue but I NEED my data to be working; I'm paying for 6gb and I can't get any of it.
I'm redownloading the Telus stock ROM as we speak, and I'm wondering if I need to factory reset every time I flash it with Odin.

Look up the code to change your CSC, and I think you can just switch back to Telus. That's how it worked on my S4 anyways.

If I'm not mistaken, a CSC is a code that is like this, correct?
N900W8OYACNB7
Because if that is the case, both firmwares have the same CSC according to sammobile.

Err that's not what I meant. There's a dialer code that you can type in to change your CSC to the Telus one. Doing that will wipe your phone and switch to the Telus carrier bloat. That's what happened when I was using a Bell sim on my Rogers S4.. wiped way too many times.

So I tried checking my voicemail and from what I know, everything is still with Telus. The only issue is the bloatware, which is not much of an issue. The biggest problem I have is that my phone refuses to connect to LTE (not a hardware problem since I've had it connect before)

My usage is telling me it was all from Play Store. It was around 70mb, I went back into play store and browsed for literally 30 seconds, went back and it was 72 (no downloads in background). Is it possible that this issue is caused by a custom kernel?

Maybe the Play Store is updating? If you have time, maybe you should just flash a custom rom that's just very simple (not feature heavy) and go from there?
I don't know if this topic has already been covered. I didn't see it in a wick scan of the forum.
My S5 won't remember Wi-Fi passwords after I reboot. As long as I don't reboot, I can go from location to location and it automatically connects to wireless networks that I've connected to. But if I reboot, it makes me enter the password again.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, us there a known fix?
I am rooted. I have tried forgetting networks and commenting to them again. As soon as I reboot, it's like I never connected to any networks. I have to reenter all wireless passwords.
I had the wifi password issue and battry life sucked. I cleared cache partition, the reflashed the ni2 firmware from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2842069
and now my phone "issues" are gone.
And my phone is back to lasting over a day.

Explain?
I followed the destructions to the letter
Yeah this happened to me make sure that the rom you are flashing matches the firmware u are on. ie if u are on ni2 make sure u don't flash an nc2 rom vice versa.

Have you tried changing the connection method for wifi networks under settings?
Maybe re-flash the stock ROM?
Not sure what else to suggest. If these things don't fix the problem, there could be a hardware problem with the phone.

Hi i am having a weird issue with my sprint S7. My mobile data is not working after the nougat update. the weird thing is the LTE icon is showing on top. And if i make a Wi-Fi hotspot the device connected to my hotspot does get internet access... if anyone can help or guide me, i will be grateful. thanks
P.S. i have checked APN settings, restarted and gone to air mode and back.
This reply isn't a help but ive had quite same issue but it's my wifi! It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting after the update. UGHHH and i hate the new font.
Had the same issue, update profile, update prl, perform hands free activation and restart the phone. Worked immediately after reboot.

can you link the theards with tutorial how to do this?
Same thing happened for me. I just rebooted my device and it fixed itself.
Data was working for me, but i couldn't send or receive mms. Mine was just a issue of making the domestic data available on the settings.
Don't know where tutorial is, just go to settings system updates and you'll see the profile and prl update options. Then go back to main settings and click active this device. Then reboot.
I tried everyones advise and my phone still isn't connecting to data.
