Hello everyone, i'm blowing off my mind to root this device. I searched everywhere and tried everything to root this bad guy and nothing. I'm running Marshmallow 6.0.1 under the build number MMB29P.WW_Phone-13.10.7.1 -20160514
Let me explain what i did :
I downloaded the asus app to unlock the bootloader and firstly i tried (with success) to flash the TWRP 2.8.7.7 recovery. no problem since here.
Than i put SuperSU 2.67 .zip inside the SD card , installed zip with TWRP, wiped cache , reboot phone and found SuperSU icon BUT here start the troubles.
I launch SuperSU and it appears a message saying:
There's not a SU installer and SuperSU cannot install it. If you have updated to Android 5.0 you have to re-root manually your device.
thought it was the wrong zip. i downloaded the latest version of SuperSU , but same result.
I just found topics talking about the build 13.10.6 but no one mention the 13.10.7 . Please help me
i had same error but i have rooted my ZE500KL with SuperSU v.2.65 and then i update SuperSU from v.2.65 at v.2.76 from play store.
SuperSU v.2.65
I give you some advice:replace Twrp 2.8.7.7 with Twrp 3.0.2-0
Thank you, i'll try changing the recovery, i'll let you know tomorrow

Hello
I just installed Lollipop 5.1 and my problem is that when installing SuperSU and asks me to update the binary, I click on Normal and I get this error:
Error in installation!
Reboot and try again, please.
What do I do?
Then why don't you use recovery installation?
And second, almost every 5.1 is already pre-rooted ...
Have you changed SU too a system app? Then it's often normal that you must install over Recovery or Odin.

Have you asked over on the SuperSU thread? You're likely to get your answers there, once you provide Chainfire with a logcat.
Whether it is solved , I installed SuperSU with recovery , and it works properly.
Thanks!! :good:

How did you flashed the 2.62 zip file if when you get to recovery, TWRP don't recognize the file, no matter the folder where you put it.
That is what happens to me. Any advice?

Sounds like you installed a version prior to 2.61. You can transfer it to your phone when in TWRP. Try flashing it and rebooting, if that doesn't work you'll have to do a full restore from your backup and reboot, then flash Supersu 2.62.

Just search in the General section you'll be amazed by what you can find.
Is there a working version for 6.0.1? I've been trying to root for hours and nothing. Every time I install SuperSU (I've tried 2.65 and 2.74) it will softbrick my phone, making it stuck at the bootloader warning message, forcing me to flash install stock rom and go through the fresh install every time.
Any one plz help me .i have installed Twrp 3.0.2 and after installing supersu 2.65 i have lost my base band data .i have installed the stock rom and tried to install supersu 2.62 and 2.46 but no use again i have lost my base band data.plzz help me to root my device with out losing base band data??
After reading some threads someone said you can install and use all the latest su versions by installing it systemless. You must open the terminal command in twrp recovery and type this:
echo "SYSTEMLESS=true" >> /data/.supersu
After this you should be able to flash all newest/latest versions.
is this sure?has anyone tryied it?I can't run an app that needs latest supersu.I am on 2.62-3.

Off Topic, but in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/official-cm11s-roms-ota-updates-t2906746, you will find signed flashable zips for 13.1 which can be flashed from TWRP.

Loosing root is expected. Next time you upgrade your ROM, you can try using FireFlash or something similar to try and retain root. But regarding bootloop I am not sure. I usually flash the ROM and gapps and let it boot. If everything is working, then only I flash superSU. Which version are you flashing anyways?
Hello
Im new here. I just want to ask you how can i root my lg spirit. Everything doesnt work and im newbie. Can you help me please ?
Are you on Marshmallow right now? If yes, you need to go to lolipop, root the phone, unlock the bootloader, flash stock Marshmallow through TWRP and flash a root package like SuperSU.

Now, you can install TWRP app from Playstore and download the latest twrp-3.1.1-0-c70n.img available for us. Then, download Flashify app and flash that .img downloaded.
Thus, you'll have a TWRP installed on your phone, from wich you'll able to flash wathever you want.
I did everything but after flashing v20b and supersu v2.78 i just lost root :/ why ?
but i rooted my phone by kingoroot cuz when i rooted it on kingroot than twrp always leave a message "fail flash"

I didn't found here something for rooting Nexus 5x with Oreo 8.1 Security Patch February 2018 just with SuperSU and Magisk isn't always an option(for me).
Required: unlocked bootloader, TWRP 3.2.1-0 installed
Go to Playstore and install Chainfires SuperSU v2.82. Download the attached file and put it to your internal storage. Reboot to TWRP and install SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip. Reboot to system. After two reboots you will be back in system and SuperSU is working. If you don't install the app first through Playstore, you won't find any SuperSU in your app list. I don't know why, but this way worked for me and i tried it several times, because i didn' want to have Magisk on this phone. Viper4android is also working without any problems. Hope this helps anybody with the same problem.

Thank you for your post.
I've tried several times to root the Nexus 5x only flashing the SuperSU by fastboot but I never rooted the phone.
I followed your suggestions and now it works.
Also the version of SuperSu to flash was different. I kept flashing an S3 while the one published by you was an S5.
Thank you.

It works like a charm, thanks so much!!
I failed in the past because I installed SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip first, then install SuperSU app. SuperSU app then needs to update binary, then the phone stuck.
