I will hit the point immidiately:we still cannot root our droid turbo 2,or unlock Bl now.It ,you know. But that it what we get for buying a Verizon phone. But my question is:have we try all the way?Does anyone try to use adb fastboot oem unlock?Or contact Verizon and ask what the hell was put into our phone(i know it vendors file, but cant mod it)??
So,dear turbo lover ,please try all the way before teardown.I know it hard, but for our phone, let get you off!!!

Anytime my phone boots it will -always- boot into the bootloader. I'm in need to replace the phone and wish to complain to my carrier about another issue (Possibly bad antenna) and before I do so I figure I should remove any trace of rooting. As such. I need to get rid of this freakin' Bootloader. I've seen a post or two about running the ADB shell but I can't recall what's all required to set up adb through CMD use. That and I've got no clue really what sbf is or how it works. Though if there's a simple 'Click click, full factory restore' which is simple enough, I'd love it. Running base Droid 2 (Not R2D2 or D2G).
Good luck. Support for these phones suck .
I believe sbf is the only way to get rid of all traces

Hello! I have been searching through the forums and have found several similar issues to mine, but I have some questions/concerns as to whether the solutions mentioned apply to exactly my situation.
I have a Motorola Droid R2D2 edition. I Did not do anything to it. I did not root, I did not side load anything, I did not try to roll back anything. I was minding my own business and received a message regarding a firmware update OTA. I assumed this was going to fix the horrible behavior introduced by the previous OTA, (random reboots etc) So excitedly.. I let it do its thing.
Big Mistake...
I think THIS: http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/droid_r2d2.pdf is the update I was installing.
Now it is stuck on a black boot loader screen. Here are my concerns about the other post.
1.) A similar problem was had with a normal Droid 2, but his boot loader was version D2.35 Mine says D2.37 Can I use the same tools that were mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849658 ?
2.) My error code is different, his says Err:A5,70,00,1F Mine says A5,70,00,00,23
What does this code mean? These kinds of things intrigue me
3.) I do not have that mem_map message.
My screen looks exactly like this:
Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,00,00,23
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Can I just do what the other guy did in the above mentioned post? Or do I have to do something else? I'd prefer not to take a 25 mile drive to the nearest Verizon store to beat them..err I mean.. ask them to re-flash it, if I can just do that myself.
P.S. Already tried a battery pull no luck :'(
That's unfortunate.
The OTA killed my root, as one would expect. I re-ran the Motorola One Click Root, but this time, it didn't root it. I wonder if Verizon blocked this exploit? I'll have to try again and report back.
One more question
IS there a precedent for installing Windows phone on a Droid 2? Can I do that since I have to flash something on anyway?

no you cant install windows phone on the droid 2, when did u get this update? were you previously on gingerbread or froyo.. best bet is to use rsdlite and flash the newest r2d2 sbf or droid 2 sbf .601 in that case you just wont have all the stupid r2d2 noises ;/

I am waiting to see if/how somebody gets ROOT back on their R2-D2 before I update with the OTA 2.3.4
So far I have found nothing on it and I wonder if our precious R2-D2 is too old for people to crack it....

Is the one-click root you're talking about the same thing as 'Pete's Motorola root tools'? I know that works great on newer droids (e.g. droid pro, droid 3) I don't know if the update the R2D2 got would mess up Pete's exploit.
so i don't post on this site ever, and i know next to nothing about rooting a phone aside from what i read
i just hit it up this for info on rooting my atrix i aquired... long story short i found a beta program called rescue root that works
i just rooted my bell atrix 4g, gingerbread 2.3.6, build 4.5.2a-51_oll-17.8
all i did was install motorola device manager program from the moto site, installed rescue root, connected my device and ran the program and rooted in under 10 mins, confirmed by root checker app, titainium backup and other various app requiring superuser permission
also i did not have to unlock the boot loader before i ran the program

u still have to unlock to flash custom roms. so it dosent really matter
rev.
you have to unlock the bootloader to flash roms? i must have misunderstood what i read...
i thought you had to unlock the bootloader first in order to root... not root in order to unlock the boot loader, guess i'll hit up moto's website again as theres a unlock your boot loader option there
but either way, just thought i'd share a new quick root method with the world that caters to those less technically gifted like me
i guess they only just released this beta and turns out the developer is actually just across town from me which is kinda cool
forgive the newbish excitment i only just snagged this phone off ebay since i bricked my old android by deleting things i shouldn't have without backing up first

I think you have it all completely mixed up.
You have to unlock the bootloader to be able to flash custom ROMs. Rooting is completely separate and has nothing to do with anything else - you don't need to unlock anything to root, and rooting won't help you get anything else (unlocking, flashing) done. It is literally completely separate.
It would probably help you to do more reading on the subject. Getting informed and educated can only ever be a good thing.
I need come help if anyone can help me out... I am trying to unroot my droid razr M and i have 72% battery tryign to run through RSD Lite 6.14 and it has failed on the 6th step out of 19.. now my phone will not turn on and goes straight to the fast boot option if i start it up normally.. Can anybody assist me with getting my device fully unrooted?
I believe SuperSU has a feature in settings that will unroot your device but you need to boot up in order to take advantage of it. is your bootloader unlocked or are you at least able to get into recovery?
flash fail

SO i clicked on the full untroot option but my phone still have a different icon for the play store which i used lucky patcher to change to the modded version of it.. not my only question is i am not rooted as what my device says but i would like to go to the stock version of the droid razr m.. IS there any other way to do so?? with out RSD Lite since it is failing my flash
Which firmware are you flashing in rsd? Why are you needing to unroot it? I only ask because of the root checker... Motorola sent my wifes og RAZR back when I was trying to get it fixed on warranty because it was previously rooted...

Hello guys
given the recent root events, i would like to know (by the ones who know)
if its possible the following:
i have a moto maxx, bootloader unlocked, TWRP recovery and i can flash the droid turbo system.
IF i install root, the wifi tether mod, Xposed,my volume mod and any other thing you guys want.
i think i can even delete some system apps like amazon, and all the bloatware like i did in my previous years
can i pull that system image and you flash it on your own turbos (its a turbo after all)
Im willing to help just i want information from the ones who know.
I think only img files works, zip dont flash in stock recovery, unless signed by motorola
I am curious as well, subscribed
