First. I am new here, so please! I really need help!
I have Samsung Grand Prime duos that got dropped on water, but i"ll drop the story. My phone is working but not totally, I can only boot on download mode but not the recovery mode. *My phone is not rooted/custom. I tried changing stock roms and it Passed via Odin. But the real problem is this, it is only working when it is plugged in a charger, but it is not working working, get me? It keeps on rebooting and vibrating while the charging icon keeps on popping up. With a 2 to 3 seconds interval. And it is not charging!
I really need some good help here! Please! :crying::crying:
I think you have to go to Samsung warantly because it look like a hardware problem.

Water + Cellphones are not a good combination.
It sounds like hardware damage. It needs to be taken to a technician for physical repairs.

For me it seems that you have battery problem... open the back cover, and check battery serial number... if it begins with BD, you shall call Samsung Customer Service requesting replacement.
By the way: does the phone behave in same manner while connected to charger?

Hmm... most likely hardware fault. Because of the similar in each case time, I'd say that you have faulty element, which heats up, and then disconnects/causes disconnection of power.
Sad to say, but it is likely that you'll have to go to service.
Well mine S4 turned of last night it freezed and it turned off. I'm on Broodroms Pre Final 4.4.4. After that it turned on and shows only the S4 splash screen and then it turns off again and it won't turn on. After i pulled out the battery and placed it back then it boots but then again it shows only the S4 splash screen and then it turns off again. I've read some things on the internet that it maybe can be a dead battery that is causing this problem. Or maybe it is an another problem maybe that you XDA members can help me it would be great :fingers-crossed:

If u can boot to recovery, flash your stock official rom. Should be fixed after that.
Or you can also flash your official rom in Odin.

Is your phone charged? The very basic question.
Put it on charging for a while try getting in the download mode then.
If still no succes..then there is a way too...

That happened to me once and reason was because the phone was not charging (even if USB has power supplied).
To solve this, I first removed it from the samsung charger and charged it using a laptop or computer for approximately 10 minutes.
That will get it charging

try booting into download mode if at all possible and try flashing a stock ROM via odin!!
hit Thanks if it helped!!
I've tried to connect it to my laptop but it won't charge unfortunately. I'm also not possible to get it in to download mode it shutdown after a few seconds. And it wil only turn on If I remove the battery and replace it the phone will vibrate, show the Galaxy S4 splash screen for a second or two, then it turns off again. Searching on the internet people say that it's a faulty battery so i could try that method and if that is not working i think it's something with the mainbord (i hope not)

Change the battery AND/OR
Try a USB JIG then. The final thing that can be done. Heard it works with i9500 too.
Buy yourself a USB JIG from ebay or something and try getting in the download mode. It costs less than INR200.
Thank me if I helped

Hello
My S4 was working fine suddenly reboots and in was stock in the samsung logo and very hot on the screen and below the camera , so I took the battery off waited for 20 min and took the battery on and tried to turn it on but nothing happens non samsung logo no nothing. So I charged like for 3 hours below the camera was hot again but it didn`t turn on. I tried changing the battery my wife´s S4, turned it on and same thing nothing happens no even the logo.... after a while I tried to turn it on again but it was warm below the camera and again it didn´t turn on. Suddenly after an hour the samsung logo appear and turned on but it was getting hot really fast after a minute or two. I turned it off waited until it cool down a bit and tried to turned it on again ..... but again nothing happens not even the samsung logo.
I guess I have a hardware issue I have had the phone for two years, of course I have dropped it before a bit of water on the screen ... not recently but in 2 years it had gone through a lot.
So I have two questions.
1. What might be my hardware problem and how to test it.
2. Is there any way to backup the information that is not in sd card.
Also the things a have tried so far.
1. change battery with other that work fine.
2. tried the battery of my phone on another phone ... it worked fine
3. took the battery off and hold the power button for a minute.
4. A lot of prayers.
Also the phone was rooted like a year ago.
thanks in advance
Looks like a hardware problem but try to reflash the stock ROM for see if that works :highfive:

go to a repair shop then. its hardware related i think since it gets very hot. goodluck :good:
I looked for another post like this but didn't find one, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
I have a Cricket Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530AZ and I believe the firmware I flashed was actually for the Grand DUOS.
Now when I try to turn it on the screen stays black (but apparently responsive?) and it vibrates every 2 seconds or so.
If I let it sit a while it will stop vibrating, but if I touch the screen or move it it starts vibrating again, but still with no screen on.
It won't go into recovery mode or download mode. Even a USB jig hasn't worked.
I've tried just about everything I can, people keep telling me that its not actually bricked but I don't know what to do at this point.
EDIT: Kies doesn't seem to work either.
If it's recognised by nothing, maybe finding out if a jtag would work?
If a computer isn't recognising it at all then really there's not many options.
Check your drivers and make sure your copy of Odin is good, loads of corrupt executables around
But if you can't get into download mode I guess that's a mute point
Sorry to be the bearer of crappy news
I installed TWRP and my GRAND PRIME does not turn on

hey yall,
I've got a Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5113) that I was asked to fix for a buddy. When i got it, it would only show the battery charging when plugged in and when unplugged and turned on, it would only show the initial Samsung logo. First thought was to flash it using odin and restore it to the stock ROM. Upon doing so it had failed and then the "Failure to upgrade, please use Kies to restore" message came up. I couldnt boot back into the download mode nor the recovery menu (couldnt get to the recovery menu at all during this entire time having it in my possesion). Then the battery died upon letting it sit and when i went to plug it in to charge, nothing is coming up. I plugged it in to my computer and tried to boot it and all i get is my computer trying to detect it for a second then gone. does anyone have an idea what to do or where to look for help. I believe the charging/connection issue is most likely the "quality" Samsung cord, but the kies/flashing issues are what i need the most help with. everything i have read or researched all say that this was a common issue with this series but i've yet to find a sure fire fix.
Well you said you cant get into download/recovery mode well just let it charge for some hours and then try it might be battery is low so it dosent boot in any of those modes
Letit charge for some hours unplug the charger and then try to go in download/recovery

Thank you for the advice, I had left it charge all night and tried this morning and nothing. I went exploring for a new cord last night and, well, it seems that it isnt easy to find the 30 pin anymore in stores so i will have to order one online and then go from there. If you can think of any other possibilities as to the issue, let me know please. From all the research I have done it seems that the tab 2 had some serious issues with this, most were able to get it solved and some were not. I do know that before it quit when the Kies warning was on, I couldnt boot into the DL menu.

I appreciate it, sounds like a lot of tab 2 owners have dealt with similar problems. As soon as I get somewhere with it i'll let you know what i did.
