I created this thread with the sole aim of helping the owners of the Japanese SAMSUNG GALAXY ALPHA SC-03E NTT DOCOMO to install the latest version of Android (LOLLIPOP) on their devices without much hassle. All updates will be provided in the future.
All THANKS GO TO @ma34S :good: FOR COMPILING THIS ROM FOR US WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR A LONG TIME AND FINALLY ITS HERE.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A properly functioning SAMSUNG GALAXY ALPHA SC-03E NTT DOCOMO. We don’t want to receive any feedback from users with faulty phones.
2. PERMANENT ROOT WITH SU INSTALLED
IF YOU ARE RUNNING A CUSTOM ROM 4.X AND HAVE A CUSTOM RECOVERY INSTALLED SKIP TO “THINGS TO DOWNLOAD”
If you don’t have root and you are running on the stock android 4.3 or 4.x here is a simple way to root your device. All the CF Auto Root methods I found never worked for me.
a. Firstly, you are probably on an older OS like 4.1, 4.2 or 4.3. You might loose all your data depending on your OS(I was running the 4.3 SC03EOMUBND2 and I didn’t loose anything, not sure of 4.1 and 4.2)
b. Download one of these stock rooted roms.
4.3 SC03EOMUBND2 or 4.3 SC03EOMUBNH2
c. Download Samsung drivers here and install it
d. Download Odin on your PC and open it
e. Make sure USB debugging is enabled on your phone in developer settings.
f. Hold the Power Button + Volume Down + Home at the same time. Your phone will enter Download Mode.
g. Now connect your phone to the PC via USB cable whiles Odin is opened.
h. Now in Odin click the PDA button and open the Rom that you downloaded earlier.
i. Make sure F.Reset time and Auto reboot are all ticked
j. Now click Start button and wait for it to display PASS at the top left corner. Your Phone might restart a few times.
k. After the Last restart and the Display of the Pass you should have root now with super su installed.
l. Congrates you have root.
m. If you have an NK2 rom go check this thread on how to root it.
3. FULLY CHARGED BATTERY. This is to prevent the phone from going off in the flashing process
4. A CUSTOM RECOVERY installed.
If you don’t have one download Sc03e-KK-KBC-CWM-v6.0.5.1_r2-recovery and install with Odin with same procedure.
NOTE: If you have an older CWM installed, update to this one.
THINGS TO DOWNLOAD
1. ANDROID LOLLIPOP ROM 5.0.2 CM12.0 UNOFFICIAL
2. GOOGLE APP(GAPPS)
INSTALLING THE LOLLIPOP ROM
1. Copy the downloaded files and place them in the phone memory or SD card(recommended)
2. BACKUP your current OS in the recovery menu so that you can restore it if you encounter any problems in the flashing process.
3. To Enter the recovery menu, turn off your phone completely. PRESS and HOLD the POWER button + Volume UP + HOME button at the same time . When DOCOMO is displayed leave the power button and still keep holding the other buttons.
4. In recovery, use volume buttons to navigate and Power to select. Now go to wipe data/factory reset and wipe data, then wipe cache partition , then go to advanced and wipe Dalvic cache.
5. When all is done go to install zip and install the cm-12-20150213-UNOFFICIAL-sc03e.zip first.
6. When done install the GAPPS package.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE CWM 6.0.4.7 THE GAPPS PACKAGE WONT INSTALL.
7. Now go back and wipe data , cache partition and Dalvic cache again then reboot. Upon exiting CWM you will be asked to fix your root binaries... say yes!
8. Your phone will boot into Android L with a Cyanogen boot animation.
9. Set up you phone and make sure to update all your Google apps and viola! :good:
NOTE: You will have to enable root in developer options.. enable it by tapping build number several times
CURRENT PROBLEMS
The keyboard.. i found a fix for it.. when you try to type something and it shows the Input method icon in the notification area... just tap on it and disable Hardware keyboard.. it should work fine .
Again remember to UPDATE Google apps else smart lock won't work
If you Discover any problems apart from the ones already stated above feel free to post a reply. Double check your errors before posting the reply.

I think this is including base framework.
because my all device is same as sc03e. (sc02e,sc04e,sc01f,lgl22)
but it seemed it was in boot time only.
I think it is not big problem for normal use. don't you think so?

yhh.. i also didn't notice any sort of problems with the USB.. and the keyboard.. i found a fix for it.. when you try to type something and it shows the Input method icon in the notification area... just tap on it and disable Hardware keyboard.. it should work fine
and its good to remove those app too.. also is it possible to make facelock preinstalled?..

go to settings
go to lock screen
set a pin lock or pattern lock..
if you already have a pin lock then go to smart lock in the lock screen settings.
then then go to trusted face..
when you try to set it up , it just crashes..

I try it but TV and Faceunlock did not work and the androids keyboard did not work also

face unlock and tv wont work.. true but the keyboard is working fine .. check the post for the fix.

"felica lock" needs for Osaifu. But it does not work in Lolipop right now.
And then I removed it since cm-12-20150227-UNOFFICIAL-sc03e.

I think this is not problem in ROM .
It depend on Google service(I don't knot what effects)
I tried below:
1. Factory reset
1. install cm12 ( I installed cm-12-20150309-UNOFFICIAL-sc03e.zip)
2. install GAPPS( I installed gapps-lp-20141114-signed.zip )
---> Smart lock did not work
3. update all Google app & Google Play services by Google play
---> Smart lock start to work.

it is possible for you to enable on screen key by writing following in /system/build.prop

I am also facing similar issue after i upgraded from 4.4 to 5.0 through Odin. My phone is 32 GB, running BTU/UK unbranded firmware. I rooted it to resolve the issue and tried some fixes like Editing ro.securestorage=true, changed it to ro.securestorage=false but it didn't work. Please help.

I am on Stock Lollipop N9005 and facing this issue that wifi and Bluetooth not turning on. Cache cleared Hard reset phone. Problem persists.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I did some work on the device and flashed CM 12.1 via TWRP. Wifi worked good in it but I missed S Pen & S health (S Pen Helper Add-On wasn't good in CM 12.1). Hence, i searched about downgrading to 4.4 KitKat only to get back wifi and Stylus both. I have been partially successful in my effort i.e. I have flashed BTU firmware 4.4. and got the Stylus back but wifi problem persists. The wifi button simply does not turn on. It's different from the problem most people face regarding not scanning particular router or forgetting passwords etc. I am just trying to explain so that you guide me to the specific solution. I have tried short code *#0011# and turned OFF power save mode too but it didn't fix either. I liked the CM 12.1 but the trade off with Stylus was not in my favour therefore I had to revert to Stock ROM. So the current state of my device is shown in screenshots attached. Please help!

It didn't fix. Problem still persists. Wifi does not turn on at all.

I had a similar problem. I just installed this APP from playstore. It worked lke a charm. Now i connects to everything. A friend of mine also said that installing this other APP will help. You can try. :highfive:

Tried both the applications. Even rooted my phone for the second app to give it access but nothing worked. IMO these apps can only fix when the wifi button is green but the internet connectivity got some issues like resolving DNS etc. In my case, the wifi button stays grey always. It turns dull green when i tap it and goes back to grey again. From the settings menu, when I swipe the wifi icon right to turn it on, it freezes for a while and gets back to left. Wifi sudddenly broken?
I have been using AICP nightlies and everything has been great.... I was looking around in MiXplorer and dropped my phone (pressing many buttons catching it) and now my wifi will not turn on... at first my data wasn't connected either but then I flashed the http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=11326 and l got my LTE back but still my wifi will not turn on... . Oh yeah, and it says "Google play services error" persistently... I've I also wiped dalvik cache, cache, system and restored the system i had backed up w/ TWRP . No luck. I tried dirty flashing the newest release for hltespr which was the 20150925 from today with GAPPS-LP and no luck.... Whatever I hit in MiXplorer really effed some stuff up I suppose.. I have a full backup I can flash but it was over a week ago and I will lose a bunch of work..... Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue w/out formatting and completely wiping and starting over? If I have to go back a week or two it will truly be detrimental. Thanks in advance to any kind sir who will accept this mission!!!:fingers-crossed:

Fingerprints where you are ?

I have a very big problem.
After I’ve flashed this rom (Unofficial cm13 Mr. Coldbird), the fingerprint sensor disappeared from the settings
How can I fix it?

for me it works sometimes and sometimes keep hanging " just vibrating without unlock " .. sometimes it says " hardware is not found "
i entered the recovery and flashed mm-firmware.zip again and the same problem exist ... i'm thinking to back to COS 12.1 it was working perfectly !

I have exactly the same problem, fingerprint option totally disappeared from my lockscreen settings. No idea how to fix it.

when I'm looking for a setting, that I can't find in the settings dialog, I'm using the search function, there. This showed already quite some features.
I'm still on original Cyanogen OS 12.1 (5.1.1), though...

Same Problem here.. In cm13 official and Mr coldbirds Version.. Even with installing mmfirmware.zip

I have the same problem too. It have tested on official CM13 and om Mr.Colbird CM13 versions.

I have even tried to solve it installing stock COS with qfil, but although the app has appeared again, the sensor doesn't work. I put the finger on it, but no signal arrives to the phone.
I have tried hard reset, install mmfimware, official CM 12 and 13, unofficial 13, but nothing work.
Any idea? Thanks.

Try this method I have described earlier. It has recovered my Fingerprints already twice. Also because of trying unofficilal cm13. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64742948&postcount=2

Fastboot reboot or just press the power button until the phone shut down. I don't know went it didn't help you but i have recovered my fingerprint reader already twice with that procedure. You will lose nothing when just flashing the modem and the bootloader. My guess is that the persist.img is the partition you need to restore for the fingerprints. My fingerprint reader has been acted really crazy when i tried the unofficial cm13. Until it stopped working. I restored my backup and did the procedure to recover my fingerprint reader. I'm now on self built odexed cm13 nightly 's with working fingerprint reader.

Stopped working here too. Tried to restore COS but even if the setting is there, fingerprint doesn't get detected (phone keeps vibrating)

Read my post above. I have recovered two times from this issue. I had it also because of trying unofficial cm13. You will loose nothing but get back your fingerprints.

Yesterday my fingerprint stopped again too. So I did the same procedure again and it didn't work anymore for me too. So I tried to flash the official cm13 again. First it didn't work but after a few minutes it started to work again. I really don't know how this is possible but there is one difference. The radio from official cm13 is newer than the one from COS. I'm happy that it works fine again but I'm afraid it will stop again when I try a different rom again.

Help needed, Touchscreen is not working for Thinkpad 1839XF1

Hi guys!
My brother purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad 1839XF1 for his son, which is running CyanogenMod, and was converted to Android 4.1.2, but the touchscreen does not work. I´ve tried to change it with the physical button, which actually displays on the screen that the touchscreen has been activated, but it actually does not work.
I would like to know if there is any stock rom that can resolve this problem, or if there is another way to set it up. I already reviewed the setting, and there is no other way to enable/disable the touchscreen. I also forgot to mention that the Camera does not work neither, and an error is displayed when trying to use it.
I was thinking about the chance to use the update on Lenovo to try to change it, or if there is any additional steps to try to recover it, as I´m not able to find anywhere the stock ROM.

How to fix: I9505 touch doesnt response in recovery (TWRP) and also after boot

Hi,
I just changed from Stock ROM to latest lineage OS with TWRP. After installing some APPs, i figured out, when call comes in or out, display gets off (dark) and doesnt comes back easily. Now, touch doesnt response so I cant unlock with pattern. Booting to recovery doesnt give me touch response so I cant swipe for "allow changes".
How could i fix this? Maybe with flashing now Recovery or Kernel via Download Mode, but how to do? Thank u

I suggest flashing back to a completely stock ROM and start over.
The screen going black could be an indication of a problem with the proximity sensor. The touch could be a driver issue in the custom ROM.

Edit: Airdroid Mirror doesnt work to unlock pattern lock

but i forgot to tell u there is working USB Debugging with working Airdroid. Befor the issue Airdroid Mirror works great (control movements and clicks via Windows AirDroid Tool), but now with the issue i cant unlock pattern lock with airdroid. No response while moving Finger/Mouse but function keys like home work in Airdroid and also at touch.
Any idea how to fix this special thing? Is this an proximity sensor error?

Befor the issue Airdroid Mirror works great (control movements and clicks via Windows AirDroid Tool), but now with the issue i cant unlock pattern lock with airdroid. No response while moving Finger/Mouse but function keys like home work in Airdroid and also at touch.
Any idea how to fix this special thing? Is this an proximity sensor error?

Don't think the proximity sensor would be related to Android mirror.
Since you can't unlock the phone because the touch does not work, I would flash back to a stock ROM and check as many functions as possible. If the phone doesn't function properly on a stock ROM, it is unlikely to function properly on a custom ROM.

I just flashed one of some stock roms,this one: I9505XXUGNG2_I9505OXAGNG2_DBT frome the thread "go back to stock rom" and did wipe data factory reset. It installed some apps, but then no touch is responding.
I did opened phone, reconnected all cables but no luck. How to bring back touch is working?

Try one of the stock roms from samsung-firmware.org that is specifically for the carrier that originally issued the phone.
Could the problem be a loose connection?

Same problem here. Its an Samsung S4, german version.
I tried the jfvelte-version from https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys4valueedition.html and it works great. Touch-screen works like a charm. Maybe this info will help other users.
