Hi all! Yesterday I had a problem with upgrading my a5 2016 from Lollipop 5.1.1 to MM 6.0.1 via ODIN 3.11. I was downloaded stock 6.0.1. firmware A510FXXU2BPFC carrier VIPNET CROATIA from Sammobile and flashing FAILED almost on the end. Then I flashed other firmware from Russia A510FXXU2BPF9 and it was all good with flashing. I tried to flash back my carriers firmware but again it failed on the very end. How to solve that and flash my carriers stock firmware?

Use KIES and perform a restore to default procedure. It will download the firmware and apply it automatically. Kies will say the phone is not compatible, but you can access the Emergency Menu.
Ok, now I'm on Russian Marshmallow can I downgrade to LP 5.1.1?

Kies will install the latest stable build. Probably yes, it will install LP 5.1.1
Kies is pointing me to Smart Switch software. Anyway I managed to flash desired stock software after repacking it with Android Toolkit.

Yeah, but you can still use Emergency flash recovery within KIES
I solved the problem without Kies.

Hi, i just buy A5 (A510F) with 5.1.1 LP and i want to know how safe is to download any variant of MM for A510F and update with Odin, i had to do something before like OEM unlock or something or just flash, thank you.

Just flash it normally. If you get FAIL near the end of flashing then you have to repack your stock firmware with android toolkit and then flash. I will help you with instructions I've made earlier for galaxy S6 last year there are the same.
OK, thanks, I hope that will be ok
LE: Flashed Russian MM and all good.

hi guys.. i just wanna know if galaxy a5 SM-A500FU with 5.0.2 lollipop update is compatible with SM-A500F?
In theory, it should be. The devices should not be different. But even in worst case, you can re-flash your own device with 4.4.4 from sammobile.com
BTW there IS a 5.0.2 firmware for A500F, though it is Russian.
You can flash the russia rom , i flash it over kitkat in my 500f . Its work well

Im using samsung A5 android 4.4.4
This device doesn't support otg cable
Is there any way by rooting or without rooting to use a otg cable to connect a pendrive to it
Thanks in advance
Are there any custom ROMs for A500F out yet?
No it isnt. Believe me, I tried. Ended up getting my device stuck on Odin mode. Why not just flash the ROM for the A500F itself.

I was looking for a custom ROM to be able to enable 4G bands for the region I'm now in. Learned yesterday from a representative from my carrier that it isn't needed. I downloaded the lollipop firmware for Russia from sammobile last night and will be installing soon. Thanks though.

Hello.
I'm tired of waiting for Samsung to finally roll out the marshmallow update to my device. So I did some searching and turns out Spain already has the 6.0 update. As theyre using the same model number as my device I started wondering if it may be possible to obtain the Spanish stock rom and just flash it via odin onto my device. (I've got a German note 4 model number sm-n910f)
PS: I hope I'm using the right forum.
Stock marshmallow for n910f hasn't come out yet. Must yet
Did you flash the rom ?i am here wondering the same idea .i am thinking to flash inu version of n910g atock rom in my n910g singapore variant can we flash the rom if both have different baseband version ?

Yes you can. What matters is model.
Hi,
So I have an Australian SM-N910G running 5.1.1, and I want to get MM as it has been released for the Indian version of the SM-N910G. Reports have said there is no issues. If I were to do this, would I flash the 5.1.1 Indian firmware and update or am I able to just flash the 6.1.1 firmware over my stock 5.1.1 Australian firmware?

You just need to flash the Marshmallow firmware. I'm in a similar situation, have a N910C on 5.1.1, UAE version, about to flash 6.0.1 using the Poland N910C firmware.
can it be done without bootloader upgrade ??? and is a downgrade possible after that ?
The indian 6.0.1 MM firmware can be odin flashed over your existing 5.1.1 firmware without upgrading your bootloader.
You can still downgrade back to 5.1.1 after you flashed the MM firmware.
Hi,
With my A5 2016, i just received update with Nougat 7.0 but didn't like the organization of parameters.
Can i downgrade into Marshmallow 6.0.1 easily? Just flash PDA file with odin?
Thank you for your help.

Bootloader (the one introduced with 6.01) allows only stock 6.01 and 7.0 to be used AFAIK.
More important is to remember to make full wipe data/cache.

I am trying to downgrade from 7.0 to 6.0.1.
I have downloaded both files from Sammobile for my phone and area and provider.
The Nougat one works with Odin, but when I try to flash the Marshmallow I get a fail
There are 2 files on Sammobile for 6.0.1 but I have tried both of them
I have just tried after a factory wipe and cache clear via recovery mode
Any advice please?
I think you must search for firmware with 4 files.
