I have a simple question, I'm currently on CM 7 nighty 7 and was wondering if it’s possible to back up your Home screen with all your Widgets and shortcuts with either an app or a software setting somewhere? With CM7 I normally just flash over on previous builds, but as many of you know, that sometimes problems happen for whatever reason and a full wipe is required or recommended. So with that being said, it can be a pain to have to always start from scratch on setting up your home screen shortcuts and widgets. Not sure if it matters but I have both ADW Ex and Launcher Pro, which both have backup settings but do not allow Widgets to be backup. Just trying to make it little easier if at all possible, Thanks.
Derek
It needs to be saved to the SD Card and widgets cannot be saved, which is why only the applications are able to be restored. In short, no there is no way. But even still, having all the applications atleast restored back to where you want them is a huge help.
Yes there is a way. There is an app called MyBackUp Pro. I use it to restore my homescreen. Everything is restored with the exception of the widgets. The widgets will be on the screen but "broke" so to say. I just remove the "broken" widget and replace it again.
This can be done though default ADW as you can backup and restore but as stated the widget has to be replaced. You don't need any special apps for it work normally its saved on root of your sdcard when you save it.
I was just removing a couple of apps with titanium backup, google and samsung voice command. When I was done I opened my app drawer to find it was blank! Dispite the missing icons I can still navigate, and when I press options then edit my apps appear and I change them etc. I can add the folders etc to my home screen too.
I have tried rebooting and reinstalling the voice apps.
I am rooted running xxkg3.
Thanks!

Gotta bump this sorry, has anybody seen this before?
I done it with my sgs you have frozen or deleted the launcher either unfreeze if you can still get into titanium or download another launcher from the app market if you can get into it. Personally I ended up installing a custom rom and have never looked back
I installed Nova Launcher Prime and love it. One thing though. When I edit the apps in the drawer to show no label (name) it works great. But then for some reason whenever I reboot or install another app after I've already editing each app to show no name, it loses my setting and all the names come back. I tried making a backup of what I do, then restoring but it will not work. How do you make your edited apps in the drawer stick with their settings that you have made?
Weird, I've never had this issue with NL Prime. I just tried to reproduce what you said and it didn't happen.
I would ask for more details but I don't really know what to ask.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling NL and NL Prime?
I figured it out. If you have advanced task killer and you close all the apps in the list, which includes Nova that is what will reset the apps in the drawer. So now I just clear apps using the default 4.2.2 swipe away thing to close apps...
Advanced Task Killer has been obsolete since the Gingerbread days. Its best to just never use it.
After a reboot I could no longer select any live wallpaper anymore all of a sudden. I have tried clearing cache and removing all data associated with the Live Wallpaper Picker but nothing has worked! Every time I am getting "Unfortunately the Live Wallpaper picker has stopped" when picking a previously installed live paper. This is VERY frustrating. I am running stock ROM rooted and have re-enabled all previously disabled apps and have unstalled greenify as well just in case. Have rebooted a few times and has not worked.
What I could remember doing was trying to clear all icons from the stock Touchwiz launcher as I am trialling other launchers. Would I have accidentally deleted some vital shortcuts? Removing the shortcuts does not remove the apps themselves, however.
I'm at a lost at what to do and really would prefer having to do a hard reset if possible. It has taken me 2 weeks to set up my Note 3 almost perfectly .....
UPDATE: I just found that I could still load Live Wallpapers IF I return back to touchwiz and set wallpaper via the menu (left) button. However I am still unable to set Live Wallpapers normally via the settings menu - the picker always crashes....
Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

you could try this go to google play download any live wallpaper ,when downloaded press open and see what happens
tried already. The wallpaper picker will crash just like before. The only way is to get back to Touchwiz interface and use the menu button to set wallpaper. That way I can still select the custom wallpaper. This only occurred AFTER I went to Touchwiz and cleared up all the useless icons from the apps....I must have stuffed up something in TW...

I am too scared to replace the stock apk if its still working via touchwiz. At least it still works. I have probably broken something when i deleted off all the shortcuts in the TW desktop.

This happened to me when I had too many live wallpapers installed, it couldn't load the list. (about 30). Don't suppose that could be it?

Did you ever get a solution to the live wallpaper crashing problem? I have the same exact problem.

I get this as well, in Nova, LWP crashes. If I load Touchwiz Home, it works fine. Kind of irritating to swap launchers just to change the LWP settings.

Thanks for posting this, hadn't thought to try setting the live wallpaper from tw home. I had touchwiz home frozen with TB. Unfroze it, set the live wallpaper from tw home, and live wallpaper is back in Nova. It wasn't enough to merely unfreeze tw home, I had to set the live wallpaper from there too.

I have touchwiz running, simple and easy and I swapped between them, but the live wallpaper still crashes. Even after putting the .apk in the system/app folder and changing the permissions, etc. I'm running Sacs rom on an S4.
Unfortunately Live Wallpaper Picker has stopped - Fix
1. Backup and Uninstall the system
[Live Wallaper Picker]
{livewallpaperspicker.apk}
ONLY (NOT livewallpapers.apk) with [Lucky Patcher](you need to enable system files in Lucky Patcher) or some other App like that (you don't need to uninstall any already installed live wallpapers).
2. Download many livewallpaperspicker.apk you can find all over the internet for different Android versions(doesn't matter even if the version is not specified, download anything you can). (btw, I am using a LiveWallpapersPicker.apk by cycloneblast which I found in another thread. I've no idea what version it targets)
3. Install the livewallpaperspicker.apk for the Android version you are running.
4. If it still says unfortunately live wallpaper picker... then Install other versions and test them(you don't need to restart your device).
5. If still not working, then remove odex file of the Live Wallpaper Picker with Lucky Patcher and then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. If STILL not working then remove corpses with [SD Maid](you need to enable system files in it's settings first which is usually turned off when you install it). WARNING: Use at your own RISK.
Hi. I have outlined the fix for this in my video on youtube here: youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=7DlTBr8r2Ws
So I have Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (G935F) and I really dislike all the bloatware Samsung puts on their devices.
So I installed Custom ROM to get rid of it. More specifically I installed Efficient ROM which let me choose which apps i want to have on my phone.
Being sick of preinstalled apps I selected all of them to not be installed. Along with default Clock App.
Which at first didn't bother me at all since I could install Google Clock app from the Play Store.
But my problem started when I wanted to use alarm feature. Though app is very well adopted by the system (the alarm icon even appears on the AOD which I did not expect), when I clean all open apps
it also shuts down my clock app. Which is really bothering me since Alarm does not work when app is not running.
I could just leave clock app opened in the apps menu, but it's annoying since I usually close the apps I don't currently use.
So my question is: What can I do to keep Google Clock running in the Background when i close it from recent apps? I have in mind feature that, for example, Facebook app has; that keeps you updated on notification even when you close it.
And that I don't forget to mention... There isn't any option to set Google clock as a default app on the default apps menu in settings.
I really don't want to flash ROM again just because of the stupid clock so if there is any solution I will be very grateful to share it with me.
I would guess use a Root Explorer and change it from a user app to a system app. I'm a Samsung noob, though, so I could be wrong.

OK i figured out that if I disable xposed, app stays opened. Anyone else experienced that issue with having xposed installed? I also find out that it's preventing Hangouts and several other apps to run in background as well, so I can't get any notifications.
You could install xposed (if not already done) and download an app called App Settings. There you can set the app to be permanently running and/or hide it from the recent apps list.
Also, I don't think making it a system app will change anything as system apps, with a few exceptions, can also be closed from the recent apps just like user apps.
Edit: Just read you have xposed already installed. So just do as I said first, this way you can continue using xposed aswell as the clock app.
