Morning guys,
Firstly great work on keeping this site going. I remember the XDA and MDA days, good times. I was a member on here as well as Esato all those years ago, it's great to see a website still going on strong.
Anyway, my issue is I'm trying to update my G901F to a stock 6.0.1 rom from Germany.
EE hasn't released the update in the UK and it doesn't seem like they are going to. Before I order a OnePlus3 I thought I'd see if I can get this updated, perhaps there is life in the old girl yet.
Unfortunately I wasted many hours last night trying to get this on, soft bricking my phone a couple of times in the process. What I gather I need is:
6.0.1 firware (downloaded from sammobile
PIT file from the region of the firmware
Now I have both of these, but just as the flash seemed to work I got ext4 errors upon re-partition. I tried both Odin 3.0.10 and Odin 3.0.7 with the same result. "file size too big". I tried a couple of different PIT files with the same result. In the end I downloaded an EE PIT file and flashed back to stock 5.0.2 firmware, which sucks, but at least I have a working phone.
The G901F came in two different memory sizes, 16gb and 32gb. Could it be that by sheer bad luck both the PIT files I had downloaded were for 32gb versions? Mine is a 16gb model.
Does anyone on here have an EE device from the UK and has managed to get stock 6.0.1 flashed? I did have CM13 installed previously but found it too unstable.
Many thanks!!
Dan
Resolved! Managed to get a working PIT from a fellow user. Thanks all.
Please can you share the PIT file you used, so that we can all benefit?
I am also on EE UK and want to upgrade to Marshmallow (using the Germany ROM).
Also, what is your review so far?
If anyone else has also successfully updated the EE UK G901F, please do share!
Thanks.
Please post the pit file, I'm in the same situation
Here is the PIT guys.

Hey all,
I bought my GNote off of Amazon (I live in the States), and it's been running great. I've been waiting for the most recent update to push to my phone, but it hasn't rolled out yet. So I've been doing a lot of searching to try to figure out where my phone actually came from. Pulling CSC using *#1234# gives me N7000UUBKK2. I can't find reference to that anywhere. When I run Kies or dial *#272*IMEI#, I get the following three options, which I've been able to identify.
VNO (selected) = Venezuela
TDR = DOMINICAN REP.
TTT = Trinidad & Tobago
Anyway, I bring this up because I can't seem to find this in Dr.Ketan's huge list of Stock roms (or any roms from those countries at all, though I am running 2.3.6). Does anyone know more about my rom, or when I can expect to get the newest update that enables the 1-handed keyboard?
@projectrally --- this is something I have not come across from anywhere myself...
Maybe, you be able to find out if you do research through samfirmware.com
you know the one i am talking about ?
There was a UBKK8 firmware floating around the DEV subforum a couple days ago... (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478060)
I think "UB" is Brazil, and being that mine started with the same firmware, I'd say that you purchased the "samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 unlocked cellphone -- US Warranty (blue)" that's actually sold by amazon directly (not a 3rd party.)
I'm curious why would you want to keep the UB firmware? There are much more recent firmware versions for other regions, and they'll all work on your phone. I'm currently running a XXLA4 firmware with no problems.
If there is an issue where I need to send this back, I can easily put a UBKK1 firmware back on the phone.
Take care
Gary

I purchased from Amazon through a 3rd party seller called Worldwide Imports.
I don't really want to keep the UB firmware, but I've got a mac and really zero friends with PCs that I can use to reflash this thing. Even at work we've got all Macs. I tried installing a wineskinned version of Odin, but it couldn't find my phone via USB, so that didn't work. I've read a lot about heimdall and most of it's bad. I'm new to Android, and I'd rather go with a tried and true method (i.e. Odin on Windows) for my first crack at flashing a new rom.
Eventually I'll track down somebody with a windows machine to do this update, but it might take me a while. In the meantime, I'm sort of stuck with what I've got, so I was just wondering what info there is out there on the build.
I have the same build. I bought mine from expansys last week. I plan on keeping the rom as is and wait for the ICS upgrade. Really enjoying the phone. Everyone notices it.

Gary,
I've got a problem. Maybe you can help. I borrowed a friend's windows laptop and I've upgraded to XXLA4 using the following method...
- Root before reflash using zergrush
- downloaded and extracted zip file for XXLA4 to tar.md5 file
- flashed using mobile odin pro.
The result is that I get a successful update, but I get the "null" problem when typing. People have said that I need to update the CSC file by manually pointing the Cache file at the new CSC file, but I don't have a new CSC file to point to. When I unzipped the XXLA4 file that I downloaded, it was a single .tar.md5 file, which is the file I used to flash. If I put that same file in the Cache field of mobile odin (and don't change any other values) and then flash again, I still get the null error.
So Dr. Ketan says to use the CSC file, but I don't have a CSC file. If I extract the .tar.md5 file again, I get the following five files:
cache.img
factoryfs.img
hidden.img
modem.bin
zImage
Is one of those the file I should be using in mobile odin in the Cache field? Should I clear the cache first?
For now, I just went back and used PC Odin and flashed the KL1 version of XXLA4 without root. I'll keep searching and see what I can sort out. This would be easier if I didn't have to borrow a Windows machine to do this...

Yes, but without root.
NVM Got it
As the titles says, I need the latest BL and Modem (or a link on where to get it) as I am going to install "OnTheEdge" 6.0 Beta 2 to try it out however I can't figure out how to download the BL and Modem for my specific variation and from my understanding due to canada the W8 is not compatible with the F international variation.
*Edit* - I should note I have already looked at "https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935W8/RWC/" however that only has for 6.0.1, I need the 7.0.0 correct?
*Edit 2* - Lets say I do just download the latest 6.0.1, its a large file from SamMobile, how do I get the BL and Modem flash from this?
Uploading... give me a moment
APK3 (from 6.0.1. No 7.0 CP/BL available yet for the W8 variant, but no problem with the 6.0.1 ones)
Bootloader https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7NTwhbole31b0xHMjNOZFJ2MVU
Modem https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7NTwhbole31MTFBNEh5Zi1LNzg
Thank you very much for the quick reply and for the uploaded files as well!
May I ask what you did to get those files (trying to learn all this stuff as I find the world of a rooted phone an awesome one but there is much to learn!) ?

I extracted the BL/modem from the full Generic APK3 firmware I found here a few weeks ago. I wanted the latest available modem/BL for my W8 S7 edge too, but I didn't want to subscribe to SamMobile just for that. I suggest you to keep that link, it has many up-to-date files and firmwares available for our S7 edge variant.
Having them separately is more convenient than having to download the full firmware (2GB+) though but well...
Hey guys,
The OTA update for android 7 has come up in my s7 edge duos. I have tried downloading it twice........it gets to 100% and says there an error and that it's the wrong version.
Not sure what to do.........any ideas
Download and flash the rom through odin.
Did you ever flash a different rom? Which brand is respectively CSC has your phone?
Never flashed another rom........bought the phone off amazon.com............it's zn international version, but looks like the supplier got them from UAE.

the supplier may have gotten from UAE but the csc may not be from there.
you can try downloading the Rom from samfirmware and flashing that way.
Thanx for the reply guys, how can I find out the CSC on the phone? Also if I flash with odin, Will that erase all the data on the phone? And will it trip the knox?
Why is it that the update doesn't work? How come the software on my phone doesn't match the update it's downloading? Is it something the supplier/seller has done to the phone? Like modify the software?
Thanx guys
Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ and you get all necessary information.
If you flash with Odin Know won't be triggered. You can keep your data with the three following requirements:
- The firmware you flash must have the CSC included you use at the moment.
- You need to use HOME_CSC file instead of CSC file.
- You may not tick re-partition.
Keep in mind to only flash firmwares designed for the Exynos variant.
Sellers on Amazon sometimes get phones from a different market and flash then a firmware fitting your market. This is rather a replacement than a modification (since the whole system is still official) and Knox is not triggered. However, one effect is that OTA may not work or gives "phantom" update notices. There's no restriction aside of that and you can just use Odin to remain updated.
You can post screens from all pages of the app I mentioned and we can see what's going on.
Hey Andiling, really appreciate your help pal. Here are some pictures you requested. Thank you
Hey there. My S10+ G975U is running G975USQS4DTF6, One UI 2.1, wanna flash unbranded.
Tried a couple tutorials from here but nothing has removed the AT&T bloatware.
Familiar with flashing, odin, combo files, etc.
It's my phone, completely accessible. I just want to remove the system hog bloatware.
'preciate it!
Just flash an G975U1 ROM and you will get rid of those bloatware

Thanks for your responce!
So have to root/unlock flash custom recovery first? If so I haven't found instructions for the US AT&T model.
Any advice much appreciated.
Tried two firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
G975USQU1ASBA_G975UOYN1ASBA_USC
Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
Tried another couple firmwares with odin 3.13.1, 3.13.3, 3.14.1 patched....
G975USQS3CTB6_G975UOYN3CTB6_TMB
still Always either SH256 SW and/or SW REV CHECK FAIL.
also always abl.elf, xbl.elf fail in Odin.
Should I use mount the Userdata? I think i've tried both ways and they fail. Ugh, losing track of what I've tried now.
I did this a year ago when I first got my S10+ Verizon and flashed the unlocked rom on it.
I believe that there's a modded version of oden here. Find it and download the latest original unlocked firmwear and you should be good.
No root and nothing

Downloaded the most recent through Frija for CSC "USC" and "TMO"
Tried flashing with Odin modded and regular. abd 3.14.4 now.
Still keep getting SW REV CHECK FAIL " [ab1]Fuzed 4 > Binary 3"
Also, the I've noticed sometimes HOME CSC is used or included when other times regular CSC is.
USERDATA is sometimes not used, what's up with that?
Thanks again for any more leads. I keep flashing and wishing lol
There are two very similar models: 975U and 975U1. The one ending in U1 should be unbranded.
I need to unlock bootloader?

Recently tried both:
SM-G975U_1_20200722120433_iwlnbyil7p_fac
SM-G975U_1_20200610113004_mh0r74212v_fac
Both from Frija
Is that 1 in the middle correct?
Which version number of Odin is for S10+ Android 10 i guess would help narrow down my problem too?
Besides the firnware Odin has to match too right? Or can you just use the most recent version for any earlier firmwares too?
Added screenshots from Phone Info SAM
It comes down to confirming exactly which firmware is needed, version of Odin (modded or not), which CSC to put in(CSC or HOME) and is USERDATA necessary too?
Thanks again all!!!

Most of your questions can be answered here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/sm-g975u-firmware-downloads-tmo-spr-att-t3908657
You can flash any Rom (V, ATT, or anty other American Rom) you want as long as you don't go backwards on your bootloader version. The version # is the 5th from the last digit on your baseband #. I flashed a U1 rom on Verizon bought S10+ and now get updates straight from Samsung with no vendor apps at all.
Winner:
USC-G975U1UES4DTG1-20200806151900
with Odin Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD
You can archive or delete this thread.
Thanks for all the leads!
I hate ATT. I hope their stupid company dies soon.
Anyway, I'm trying to flash my ATT S8+ that is running Android 7.0 with Android Pie. I first attempted to use Frija and it said that the ATT "CSC code not supported". I then tried SamFirm and when I input the phone model SM-G955U, it doesn't show the "United States" Region option.
Ideally, I would like to flash my phone with an unbranded Android Pie. What do I do?
UPDATE: I am able to find many different firmware files on SamFrew. However, I still need to know if I can flash an unbranded XAA file from there?
Will it work? And do I need a modded version of Odin to flash? I came across some guy's youtube tutorial that says only to use a modded Odin to flash unbranded firmware on an ATT Samsung phone, but unfortunately his video is from three years ago and so I'm not sure if the modded Odin he's linked to will be compatible and be able to flash the much recent released firmware updates.
UPDATE: Issue resolved. I went ahead and flashed it and it worked.
