Twrp for mm6.0.1 with unlocked bootloader - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have unlocked bootloader, running debolted stock rooted MM 6.0.1 rom. Right now I am on stock recovery, I want to install TWRP. Please guide me.

Download TWRP just Google it I think the most recent version is 3.0.2.2
then once you get the tar file install it via odin in the ap or pda slot
your phone has to be in download mode to use odin
Once your phone reboots turn it off or pull battery whichever works then boot into recovery mode there you should see twrp

Bricked Download mode does nothing, TWRP accessible

So I installed the 801 stock leaked lolipop rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g2/development/stock-rom-lolipop-d801-d80130a-t3059934 that worked fine so I proceeded to attempt to root it and install twrp, the root wouldn't go through but TWRP did.
Once TWRP went through I wasn't able to boot into the system and my download mode sent me to fastboot. So I flash 801 20a laf image as I've done beforehand but that just leaves me with a download mode that only displays the words download mode. http://oi61.tinypic.com/29ghngg.jpg
I still have access to TWRP but all my files were erased so I don't know how to proceed.

Galaxy s5 Sprint G900P - Soft bricked? Cycles on recovery mode, download mode works

Model: SM-G900P
I've tried every kind of rom flashing here, re-partitioning, recovery images, etc.
I really just want to get to the stock recovery mode with out the auto boot loop.
Please help.
What else do you need to know?
Try flashing TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN, and boot into TWRP recovery
If you can get into TWRP, you have a very powerful recovery with a lot more options than stock, to try and get things working again before going back to 100% stock - if that's what you're aiming for

The flash seem to work via ODIN. See image below.
But it is still stuck in a boot loop for normal booting or for recovery mode.
Am I using Odin incorrectly??

A lot of newer S5s do the same thing (Except they usually boot back into stock recovery, but as yours isn't working, same thing)
Follow this guide (Using the correct version TWRP for your model S5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64961009&postcount=2
You can ignore steps that are not relevant to flashing TWRP, or follow them all for a rooted phone (Apart from reactivation lock as you can't boot yet)

I followed these steps:
"3) boot into download mode.
4) Odin flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 (specifically this version).
5) DO NOT allow phone to boot, (uncheck auto reboot in odin and if necessary remove the battery as soon as the TWRP flash has completed) then.....
6) boot directly into recovery. (Vol +, Power & Home button combination)"
Although, they were not very specific....
To flash with odin, I used the AP button and did not let it auto reboot. Removed battery immediately. tried to reboot in recovery and saw the same issue.
I think I need all files.
BL
AP
CP
CSC
and possibly to re-partition with a PIT file
You say in the first post you have already repartitioned?
PIT file is for repartitioning
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2799613&d=1402839135
Extract to .pit, add to PIT section in ODIN, add ROM to AP section, flash both together
You can try older versions of ODIN for TWRP to, some people have success with version starting 3.07 > 3.10.7
I was able to do the PIT and the TWRP at the same time.
Although, my phone said "SECURE CHECK FAIL : pit" on the screen, it seemed to do everything.
But upon reboot to try to get to Recovery (power, home, Vol+), it no longer waits and reboots/recycles. It fails with a message that says "Could not do normal boot." and send me to Download mode.....
If I try to boot normally, I still get the boot loop....
I just used the PIT file I used last time and it's back to where I was when I started this post.
Endless reboot cycle...
Maybe the bootloader needs to be flashed?
Ok. My issue with the failing pit (and any other failures from Odin) was a combination of using a bad version of Odin or a bad version of the tar or pit files.
I am able to flash the latest stock rom g900p OK4 just fine.
I can flash twrp just fine as well.
But the boot loop cycle still remains.
I believe I know exactly what I need here and it's the stock OK4 boot loader.
Here's an Odin flashable OK4 bootloader for the G900P. https://mega.nz/#!9ItUDZ7C

Bootloader file was exactly what I was asking for. Thanks.
However, it did not solve the problem.
Boot loop cycle going on still after stock BL, Ap, PIT all flashed....
Any other suggestions ???? Please. From anyone?
I'm sorry to write in this old topic, but I want to know if you solved your problem, as I'm having the same trouble. Everytime I turn on the phone it stucks on bootloop, and after 5 to 10 cycles it starts. When trying to enter to Recovery it stucks on bootloop and never enters. I've tried with TWRP or Philz CWM but it just doesn't enter to recovery :'(

Latest version of TWRP not booting on 9005 Note 3.

Hi all
I have a question that has probably been asked before but i cant seem to find a definite answer.
I have a Note 3 SM-N9005 (Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974)). I would like to flash latest TWRP. I am sure i have the right TWRP (https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/)
All goes well in Odin but TWRP doesnt boot up. The phone keeps rebooting to the Samsung logo . (FYI i have previously installed latest TWRP on the S3, S4 and S5 along with custom ROMS with not a single problem)
Trying previous versions of TWRP i found the only one that works is twrp-c-hlte-4.4.img.tar, but that is too old to use to flash Android 8.1 or 9.0.
All my searching shows many instructions with a successful installation of TWRP 3.0 or greater on a Note 3. But i cant get that to happen.
Hoping that someone can help with an answer please.
Thanks in advance
Flash it by recovery and not with odin...
Hi
Sorry, Not sure what you mean
Do you mean flash TWRP by going into stock recovery and selecting applying an update from external storage (SD Card)
If so what file type do i need? img or tar?. img i presume
FYI, i am rooted and have tried the following;
*. adb fastboot. (dvice is not recognised in fastboot no matter what drivers i install)
*. Flashify
*. ROM manager
*. ODIN
All flash the latest TWRP (successfully according to the on screen message) but when trying to enter recovery i get a boot loop. Even when i try to boot to the OS, it stays in the recovery boot loop
I recover from the boot loop by re-flashing stock rom (Android 5.0, the latest from Sammobile for my device)
Thanks
turn off auto reboot while flashing twrp in odin (hlte)

Recovery Mode Lost and Magisk

Trying to root the rom in link with magisk(because supersu didn't work) and getting this error, I flashed boot.img from the rom zip as per the instructions but my recovery mode is totally gone. Download mode works but I cannot flash TWRP back in as it either fails or gets stuck in "<ID:0/005> SetupConnection.." phase in odin. Do I need to start everything from scratch or is the rom and phone still salvageable ?
Edit: Download mode seems to be screwed too and Smart Switch refuse to see the phone.
sure you have Exynos model?
