ok so i recently 'engineer rooted' my phone and messed up when trying to install xposed. everythings good now but i dont wanna go thru that again so if someone could give me the exact link for xposed for the tmobile gs7e as well as how to install it thatd be great. the engineered root will not let me have Twrp or cmw so i have downloaded flashfire. im guessing just download the correct file, put it in my phone and flash it thru flashfire?
You'll need the wanam xposed arm64 zip. It should flash fine through flashfire. Grab it from this thread

Trust me, I've done it without root. I had xposed installed before with root then I flashed the latest stock rom from n915w8 and flashed xposed right after without wiping data and it worked. I guess it was because the xposed modules were already configured but ultimately, I did not root in order to use xposed. The functionality of xposed is increased if you root. This is from my experience
The latest xposed for Samsung probably has some loop hole I'm unaware of that allows you to install it without root.

the boot-loader is not unlocked for n915a currently, how can we install twrp? or you mean install supersu by odin without twrp?
step 2... Install latest twrp... How can you do that if your phone has never been rooted before?
for my note edge sprint (915p) i used CWM cos twrp didnt work. after flashing supersu said i dont have root access and if i would like to have it. I SELECTED NO. after rebooting once phone booted fine. took a while for supersu to take over things and now its all good

Do you by any chance have the latest twrp (2.8.0.7) in .tar file? I've been lurking around for a while now and I'm not able to find it. I can only find .img and I need Linux to convert it to .tar to be able to Odin. I've lost root and now I can't get it back.

ok now that ive spent more time with it i believe the root i got is incomplete. on many apps supersu dialogue doesnt pop and they dont recognize the phone as rooted. i used titanium backup to try and remove system apps and despite everything going fine the apps didnt go anywhere
UPDATE: problem fixed. I edited the build.prop in /system/ using a build.prop editor and now all my apps are asking for root
In build.prop look for ro.securestorage.support=True and set it to False
Also solves if your phone keeps forgetting the wifi passwords
It works. SM-915F. Just don't forget to off 'reactivation lock' in security tab in androud in order to install TWRP successfuly. Thanks a lot!
No you're right. Twrp is in img format but you can easily convert it to tar using a linux emulator. Took me minutes to convert it to tar. Google "how to convert img to tar. Running twrp fine
Does it work in 915V ??
So,it's strange how the method works on my 915f. For example; Titanium Backup can't remove systems apps. It looks like I have a root, but not fully operated. Any advices?
Does this still trip the knox counter?
I want to root, but I must keep my warranty as this N915F is on my company's name.

Hello guys I am pretty new and I have a question. I just rooted my LG g2 D801 model that is running lollipop 5.0.2 and I am wanting to install xposed installer so I can customize my device. I looked it up on Google and there was a whole guide on how to download it but it did not work for me. What I am asking is if anyone can provide me links and advice on how to do this being that I am new to this whole rooting thing. Also I am wondering what else is required to have that downloaded. I hear about custom recovery and all of these terms but I am not familiar with them All respondes are appreciated, thank you.

Yes on any rom. this is how it is.
for 5.02 use sdk21
for 5.1 use sdk22
for 6.0 use sdk 23
and our device use arm. so sdk21/22/23. arm depending on what version of android you are.
(but first) if you only rooted your phone then you need a custom recovery. you said you have 801 g2? then go to playstore and download autorec for lollipop for d801
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorec801&hl=en
just download/ and run autorec. wait till it says its ready to flash. then on top youll see twrp just click on it and it shoud back up and install twrp recovery... i use link2sd to reboot into recovery or look for a advance reboot in playstore. that will take you to recovery screen. but once you have the twrp. use the one on my first post 2.8.7.3 to prevent heat damage to display. in twrp says install just click install, look for twrp 2873 file where it got downloaded and select it. and it ll install 2873 recovery. then you can do the same. click on install and look for the xposed file should be in your download folder. then youre done.. install the apk. and when you have a xposed module apk. example small navigation bar. you download apk. then install. and in the xposed installer, open it and go into modules. select module you downloaded and want to use. then reboot and it should be working.

Thank you sir it worked
Looking to install the preview, just wondering what steps I have to follow to install the update? Looking to do a dirty install. Do I have to remove root and xposed? Does a systemless root allow updating with no issue?
Cheers!
I've also got TWRP installed which I imagine it wont like!
Were you able to install xposed on Android N beta?
I was able to install xposed but not the framework... But that's mainly because of twrp being stuck on the splash screen. I tried flashing the framework through flashfire but that didn't work.
Edit: spelling
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/how-to-switch-to-android-n-preview-t3409538
Sadly, you will need a decrypted device if you want a working twrp. Otherwise you can follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guide-android-nougat-developer-preview-t3410906
For just root.
As for xposed it has not been updated to have support for any developer preview as far as I am aware. If you find xposed as a need, I would recommend staying on Marshmallow!
not totally correct, you can flash the latest (6.0.1) vendor.img, flash TWRP, do whatever you need to do, then flash the N vendor.img and you have a working TWRP without a decrypted phone
@Vekhez if you look at the second link it is similar to that.
Ok, so I got an AT&T Galaxy S4 running OC3, and I want to put a custom ROM on. I've been reading so many threads over the past few days, and want to make sure that I have everything ready to go before I brick my phone (the volume up button is stuck so I can't get into download mode if I brick it, will that be a problem?)
1. I have rooted using Kingroot. Root check app says I have root
2. I installed busybox
3. I installed safestrap 3.72 (I tried uninstalling 3.72, and installing 3.75, but it says old version installed. Will this be a problem?)
4. Downloaded and installed the NC1 flasher spk, but have not flashed yet because I want to make sure I'm doing everything ok
5. This is where I really want to make sure I have everything in order... I'm going to list the zip I have that I think I need to flash, in the order that I think I need to flash them:
a. Goldeneye ROM v.53 (unless someone has a better ROM they think I should use)
b. 5.0 nano Gapps
c. SuperSU (unless I don't need to)
d. OC3 Stock Kernel
e. OC3 modules
f. 0C3 Modem
g. xposed
6. Reboot (then install xposed installer apk, reinstall busybox/safestrap apk/nc1 flasher apk, other apps, etc)
Please let me know if this is the right path. And is not being able to get into download mode going to be a problem?
I don't know where you got the 5.0 nano Gapps step from, but you shouldn't need those. SuperSU never hurts to flash so that's fine. Just make sure you have the recovery flashable zip for the OC3 kernel since you can't get into download, but you should be able to reboot to download from Safestrap anyway if necessary. You may also want to boot into the ROM once before flashing xposed.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'm just used to flashing gapps from every other device I have flashed haha. So you don't need to in this method?
And does it matter that I can't update to safestrap 3.75? Will 3.72 work?
And thanks for the heads up on flashing xposed. When I boot the ROM, do I need to reinstall safestrap/NC1 flasher to get back so I can flash xposed?
One more question (sorry for all the questions ), do you have any opinion on the Goldeneye ROM vs any other compatible lollipop ROMs? And are there any Marshmallow ROMs that would be compatible?

Apologies for being away from XDA for a bit. You don't need Gapps since it's not an AOSP ROM. Either Safestrap should work once you flash the NC1 kernel I believe. You will need NC1 Flasher, Safestrap should still be installed though (the recovery, not the app though) or you should also be able to use Flashfire if you have it. No MM Roms are compatible, and Goldeneye was a good ROM when I used it. Personally I just rooted stock and customized it myself, but Goldeneye is good.
If you've already gone and flashed, then I hope all has gone well and whatnot.
Hello,
I am trying to find info on if we can install Viper4Android and the Xposed framework. I've searched but cant really find any useful info. If I'm missing something let me know.
Is there currently a way to install Viper or Xposed on the rooted Tmobile 935t? I tried to install Viper but it tells me that the driver is not enabled and doesn't seem to do anything.

Stock viper apk requires a permissive kernel on stock Roms. I had trouble installing viper on my G935F. Had to flash viper4android supolicy zip just to make it partially work.
Anyhow try flashfire to install zips as I think you don't have a custom recovery. It is still at your own risk though. Try this zip for viper as I used this to enable it

Good luck and xposed can be flashed with flashfire too.

Flash wanam xposed arm64 zip and you'll be good to go. Just make sure you flash the correct zip as if it fails to boot then you haven't the option of flashing the Uninstaller through recovery. I'm using this one
