If you search... I bet an app on the Play Store can do this.

I use Home2 from the play store. Remapped dragon in for S-voice, because the voice recognition actually works. Not sure about the recent apps but I'd recommend it to anyone trying to remap on a TW rom.

You can change manually if you want. Give me a minute while I locate the file.

Thanks for the reply. I think I found the file but it does not do anything once changed. I think it may be something else I am missing. Here are the file I edited.

What he said. It's infinitely easier than having to mess with modifying files and it also lets you map home+back and home+menu if you want.
Oh, and you can also change the double-click delay, so that if you just want to go home, it's slightly faster.

That will select text. He is asking about selecting several pieces of text. Like the words "select text" plus "selecting several pieces" in my last sentence, like with ctrl/mouse on a PC.
Have you tried just marking one part of the text, and just ignore the popup for copy/cut/dictionary and try marking more text? Hard to remember how I did it, but I think that was how.

It is possible to select multiple pieces of text. Just press the button and select text, then release the button. Then, press the button to select another piece of text.
Aye that's what I thought.
Ok, I just tried to do that with forum posts, and can't do it. Do you need to use smart select first?
Thank's guys,i think it's impossible to do ,the only way is smart select and saving for more times.
Nope. Worked for me. Unless my memory is distorted.

What exactly is the process then? You can try it on longer above posts.
Press and hold button, select text, relase button, press and hold button, select text, release button?
Doesn't work for me, when I press button to select next section of text the previous selected text looses it's selection highlight.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
I'll try it when I get my device back.
When I do that exactlyn the previous, selection vanishes aand a new one starts. It doesn't add to the initial selection.

What does work, is highlight text and copy it. Highlight the additional text, and copy that.
When you long press paste, you can paste or select clipboard. Select clipboard, and you'll see two entries for the two selections you made. Tap each, and it'll paste them both. I'm not sure though how many you can clip, or how to manage the clipboard.

When i try to past ,i have only "past" option how you can see the clipboard option?
for example,i copy two times the text from some page in firefox and try to past it in a word document, when i try to past,i see only the past option.
Edit:i have this problem only in office suite 8 ,the clipboard optione of samsung keyboard does not work in Office Suite 8,damn.
i'll tell you what is wrong.
hold the S pen button and select, and then select somewhere else. doesn't matter you release between each select or not, but you should hold it when you're selecting.
**** the problem is that this function only works in original Samsung apps, like the browser (internet)
It worked for me perfectly! press and hold the spen then select text. once text selected release the button and press and hold again then select txt.
BOOM!

Hi,
i am previously a Moto G (2013) user.. got used to onscreen buttons like pie and gesture control.
Most of the guides available out there wont work with Le 1s.. so here it is
HTML:
do at your own risk. make sure you know about the consequences of things you are going to do.
i always recommend a back up while messing with system partition
Open this file
system>>usr>>keylayout>>ssynaptics_dsx_i2c.kl
look for below lines
Code:
key 158 BACK VIRTUAL
key 172 HOME VIRTUAL
key 580 APP_SWITCH VIRTUAL
change it to (put "#" before all lines)
Code:
#key 158 BACK VIRTUAL
#key 172 HOME VIRTUAL
#key 580 APP_SWITCH VIRTUAL
This disables the respective action of capacitive buttons.
To enable on screen navigation button(enabling this makes your screen looks awkward) though i would prefer to use Pie controls or LMT launcher etc..
go to build.prop
search for this line
Code:
#qemu.he.mainkeys=0
change it to
Code:
qemu.he.mainkeys=0
Reboot.
PS. i am also trying to disable backlight of disabled capacitive buttons, anyone knows can help me

Yeah..
Thank you
I ve come across many apps which does that.. I'm exploring system level hack
For ex modifying this file(check screenshot) disables but it gets reverted back on reboot
That will have to fixed in kernel. Easy stuff though.

Thank you so much for this!!
I cracked my screen pretty badly. So I cannot use the capacitive buttons, and what is worse, they are activated randomly by themselves
I had previously found out how to activate the virtual buttons, which helped. But I did not know how to de-activate the capacitive buttons. This was a great help!!
However the app "Keyboard backlight controller" does not seem to work for me, it does not ask for root permission and it does not turn off the backlight.... but this is a very minor issue compared to my previous issues
While editing keys putting # , to disable capacitive buttons , it is showing a message "error occurred while saving the file, it will not be saved" what to do now I want to disable capacitive buttons
---------- Post added at 10:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 AM ----------
Due to crack on display and improper function of capacitive buttons I want to disable that and I want to enable VIRTUAL navigation keys , while following mr.botze steps using codes while editing I mean after putting # and saving, it is showing a message " error while saving the file ,it will not be saved" what to do , anybody can help me out from this

...either that, or that you forgot to mount in R/W. What app are you using to view the files? In Root exporer, there is a button on the top that says "mount R/W" (read-write). If you don't press that you can only VIEW the files, not edit.
Is rooting needed?

I opened in edit mode but receive the error.. I have not rooted my mobile, is that the reason?
Not sure if I'm being dumb, but if I tap the home key, it takes me home. Whats the use case for hard pressing the home key (which activates the vibrantion)?

If I am following you can either double tap the home button to go to home or hard press "one" time to do the same thing. I don't know the science behind it but I have found I do both at different times
Hard pressing it switches the screen on from when the screen is off or you can double tap it.

Don't need to double tap, a single tap take me to my home screen...
Just saying either way works when screens off..

When you are in the fullscreen app that doesn't show the bottom bar you can just press the screen place where the button is harder and not swipe up/down/left/right and then tap the home button.
is there a way to set that side to take a screenshot or switch it to be the power button?
screenshot - i don't know if there is an app that does not have gui and take screenshot and auto exit.
As for the power button, I have try to search for an app, but they all triggers the "require pin" lockscreen. (fingerprint unlock won't work.)
And according to Blackberry, as of right now there no way to mount it just like the power button.
Yes there is

Go to convenience key in settings, press all shortcuts... to use it as a screenshot button come down to media and productivity and press capture and annotate.
To use the convenience key as a power button. Same procedure; settings, convenience key, all shortcuts then come down to device and press lock screen. This should security lock and power off your screen.

Yes but for the screen lock it requires device administrator so fingerprint doesn’t work after that to unlock and you gotta put a passcode.

When screen capturing with the convenience key and the Notable app, the 3 icons from the convenience key stayed on screen. Is there a way to get rid of it before the screen capture?
convenience key is not able to set any shortcut. Not showing the option to set it.
