This is how set Genius Button to Screen Rotation On/Off

"I found genius button pretty pointless. May I set it to Screen Rotation On/Off function like iPhone? Thanks! I have already tried ButtonRemapper and Screen Rotation Widget, too bad the BR cannot remap the hard button to an app. "
Okay, I figured this out. By using LaunchKey + Buttonremapper + Autorotation I get to use long press Genius Button to control the screen rotation on/off!

It's a long shot... But I remembered back when this phone first came out, before we got permaroot, there was a thread about re-mapping the genius button to Google search. In there this was one of the posts.

Not sure if assigning FUNC_4 to 217 was necessary, cause it popped up a shortcut list when I long pressed it before I made that change.
After that, I got an app from the market called Button Shortcut. That allowed me to assign Genius to the long press.
Voila! Short press is search button and long press is Genius.

Hey man, that app doesn't let me assignment the button to an app. Unless you know how.

And also, Button shortcut is no longer in the market place.

I'm not sure but I think I have seen that many times spen can select text using control + right mouse button, you can do it with s pen? if so, how can i do it??

keep holding the button..cursor will turn into Text Mode..select the text you wanna copy..release the button..select copy option

That will select text. He is asking about selecting several pieces of text. Like the words "select text" plus "selecting several pieces" in my last sentence, like with ctrl/mouse on a PC.
Have you tried just marking one part of the text, and just ignore the popup for copy/cut/dictionary and try marking more text? Hard to remember how I did it, but I think that was how.

It is possible to select multiple pieces of text. Just press the button and select text, then release the button. Then, press the button to select another piece of text.

Aye that's what I thought.

Ok, I just tried to do that with forum posts, and can't do it. Do you need to use smart select first?

What exactly is the process then? You can try it on longer above posts.

Press and hold button, select text, relase button, press and hold button, select text, release button?

Doesn't work for me, when I press button to select next section of text the previous selected text looses it's selection highlight.

When I do that exactlyn the previous,selection vanishes aand a new one starts. It doesn't add to the initial selection.

What does work, is highlight text and copy it. Highlight the additional text, and copy that.
When you long press paste, you can paste or select clipboard. Select clipboard, and you'll see two entries for the two selections you made. Tap each, and it'll paste them both. I'm not sure though how many you can clip, or how to manage the clipboard.

When i try to past ,i have only "past" option how you can see the clipboard option?
for example,i copy two times the text from some page in firefox and try to past it in a word document,when i try to past,i see only the past option.
Edit:i have this problem only in office suite 8 ,the clipboard optione of samsung keyboard does not work in Office Suite 8,damn.

hold the S pen button and select, and then select somewhere else. doesn't matter you release between each select or not, but you should hold it when you're selecting.
**** the problem is that this function only works in original Samsung apps, like the browser (internet)

It worked for me perfectly! press and hold the spen then select text. once text selected release the button and press and hold again then select txt.

Galaxy S6, S6 Edge(+) Missing menu button SOLVED! (well an easy work around) =)

Here is the temp fix guys the problem is a lot of apps detect if there is a hardware menu button and omit showing the soft 3 dot button common in a lot of apps. The S5 has no dedicated menu button but it does have the long press home button option to launch the More options/Menu button, however out Galaxy S6 models do not have this option. BUT some apps still detect it and delete their in app button.
Here is the fix I figured out that works in this situation and it would be good to pass this on or write up a document.
Go to phone settings => Accessibility => Dexterity and interaction => Assistant Menu.
At the top right slide the off button to on to enable the Assistant menu icon on all screens. Then click on the Edit option. In the edit menu deselect all the buttons you do not need by hitting the red negative on the icons (-) in the upper part of the screen. (note it has two buttons that you cannot remove Home Screen, and Menu Settings) on the bottom half of the page hit the green plus sign (+) on the More Options button (It has 3 dots). (note there are lots of other buttons you can add)
Now on all screens is a little round button with 4 dots on it, it appears on all screens in all programs and is floating. There is the More options button now which is the software menu button we are missing =). You can just go back and disable Assistant menu afterward or like me leave this handy button on because I have multiple programs that do this.

Yeah I tried that it did not work in the app that I run that I could not get to the menu with, I will try another program and see if I can get that to work. I also tried many of the other options I could find through the searches.

Android z828 phone won't bring up the menu screen on mobotour app

I have tried the posted fix however that hasn't worked. Need it for job, which is telling me I need to get another phone.

Not in all applications. Must be coded in the app.

Just got the S6 Edge+ and the MENU button is nowhere to find, so thanks for this helpful hint, never guessed i should enabled such functions on my phone.

You can also download the free app from the Google play store called all in ones gestures. You can use it to remap all of the buttons on any samsung phone.

No? Or please tell me what "***" menu is called in that app, it seems missing.

setting the convenience key to screenshot or power?

is there a way to set that side to take a screenshot or switch it to be the power button?

screenshot - i don't know if there is an app that does not have gui and take screenshot and auto exit.
As for the power button, I have try to search for an app, but they all triggers the "require pin" lockscreen. (fingerprint unlock won't work.)
And according to Blackberry, as of right now there no way to mount it just like the power button.

To use the convenience key as a power button. Same procedure; settings, convenience key, all shortcuts then come down to device and press lock screen. This should security lock and power off your screen.

Yes but for the screen lock it requires device administrator so fingerprint doesn’t work after that to unlock and you gotta put a passcode.

When screen capturing with the convenience key and the Notable app, the 3 icons from the convenience key stayed on screen. Is there a way to get rid of it before the screen capture?

convenience key is not able to set any shortcut. Not showing the option to set it.

Take picture via button

Is there any way to take pictures by pressing a button (normally volume buttons)?
Researched a bit but couldnt find something.
I know that you can open the camera up by pressing the volume button, but it seems there is no possibilty to take a picture by pressing a button (normaly one of the volume buttons). Camera settings dont show anything regarding to this.
Additionally to the icon on the screen there's gestures and voice activation, but I would really miss a hardware button for that as it makes taking pictures with only one hand so much easier...

That's not what the user is asking. He/she wants to be able to press a button to take a picture instead of using the icon in the camera app.

You can do it by pressing the volume up button while in the camera app.
