My phone is without an OS hence sideloading. ADB set up fine. Device is recognised in ADB until I sideload. Then I get error device not found when installing. I'm using the latest SDK and have tried downloading the latest LG driver but I get an error in spanish (Ithink). Am downloading driver from here http://androidxda.com/download-lg-usb-drivers
Anyone help please?
PS - I am not sure if USB debugging was enabled before the brick...
So I've moved on from that. Manually installed the android composite drivers and all ok. But NOW I have a new error which I get regardless of the Rom. "error executing updater binary in zip '/sideload/package.zip"
Looks a more advanced error to me...
Is there any serious guru that can help me as I am now stuck. Tried Android ADB interface as driver and also latest LG as driver. I get to about 65% of install then "error updating binary....". It has to be a driver issue right???
why don't you
"adb push filename.zip /sdcard/filename.zip"
instead of sideload ?

Thanks for responding. It's internal memory so can only sideload anyway right? How would I 'push' and what mode would TWRP need to be in?

Ok worked this out. Have not put TWRP in to sideload mode and have entered the text in CMD. The cursor just flashes and has done for about 5 minutes now...But at least it doesnt say error
So it's pushed the rom to the SD card and I still get the error updating binary when I try to install. Tried 3 different roms and all get this error. Think there's nothing left to try.
There is. What twrp are you on? And what ROM are you trying to install?

Hi - I actually (naughtily) opened another thread on this as the problem is not with sideloading anymore. I cannot install anything (recovery, any rom) either by sideload or push. It's like TWRP is corrupt. I'm on 2.8.6.1. Installed simple tool v3.2 as well and I cannot overwrite TWRP as I get the fail again.
Extract the recovery.omg, push it to internal. Then use dd command to flash it manually

How do you get rid of twrp and install CWM instead?
I think my TWRP is corrupted too, bootlooping for 3 days now
Hiya. I managed to unlock bootloader/install twrp and root and went to see if i can put it back to stock.
When i try and sideload the stock firmware, my pc wont recognize adb while it's in sideload mode but it does in normal state.
I also get these errors (see pics)
I have tried installing all the drivers/changed usb ports but now i have no clue what it can be.
Any help please?
Thanks
PS. Using Windows 10
I'm having the exact same issue and I'm also really interested in a solution for this. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and switched USB Ports. The device gets detected without any problems in fastboot mode but as soon as I switch to Sideload Mode in stock recovery, Win 10 shows me this error and doesn't detect my device for sideloading.
Temporarily I could flash TWRP and sideload the zip via TWRP and cmd but I would also like to be able doing it without TWRP again.
Thanks in advance.
Can't anybody help us?
Just download the latest Android Studio software it contains the last ADB driver, i had the same issues after installing reboot, and ADB sideload will work !
http://lifehacker.com/the-easiest-way-to-install-androids-adb-and-fastboot-to-1586992378
I have been on Android 11 DP since it was released and for the most part it has been stable. Unfortunately, my password app isn't working and could take months for it to be functional on 11.
Has anyone had success reverting back to 10 from 11? I've tried more times than I care to admit, but have not had any success.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I've tried several times, but have been unable to revert back!
Take note of which partition you are on, either A or B, check this on the main bootloader screen at the bottom of the screen. After you see if you're on A or B, flash the March factory image. As soon as the flash completes, you need to go right back to the bootloader screen and switch to the opposite partition that you are on. For example if you were on A before flashing the image, you need to switch to B and visa versa. To switch, from the bootloader screen type: fastboot --set-active=a or fastboot --set-active=b
After switching the active partition, reboot the phone and you'll be able to boot into Android 10 and will no longer be stuck on the 11 preview.

I was having the same problem and this solved it! I had to download the tool from the Google site and copy/paste it into the "flash-all" folder and it worked!

Question?
Not sure what the question is? It erased correctly and reinstalled Android 10.
Need help - there was a Google Chrome issue earlier that made it crash or not work on ASUS devices apparently (you can google "Zenfone Max Pro M1 Chrome" for the issue)
I followed the steps outlined by the Google representative to do:
Open your device's Settings app. Tap Apps & notifications.
Tap Chrome. If you don't see it, first tap See all apps or App info.
In the overflow menu, tap Uninstall updates.
Open the Play store and update Chrome.
However, my Phone froze a few minutes after step 3 Uninstall updates, and so I had to hard shutdown. However after booting again, it is now merely stuck in the Zenfone logo, and does not go past it at all. It isn't stuck in the ASUS logo beforehand but it's definitely bootlooping (Just stays in the animated Zenfone logo nonstop).
To give more info, my phone is not rooted nor does it have custom rom/recovery. However it is able to load fastboot and the stock ASUS recovery mode (Power + Volume Up and Power + Volume Down respectively). Any advice on how I can fix this without wiping data/factory reset (or if I have to, how can I backup my data beforehand)

Go to recovery mode, select sideload option, on computer, install adb, open cmd and type "adb sideload "C:\Path\to\zipfile". The zip file must be version you running. After done, reboot phone.

Sorry, i didn't mean to offend. I am have to admit that i need a kind of hand holding with detailed instructions at every step.
As per solution provided above, i am able to go to recovery mode and after that i don't know what to do and how to do. For example.. From where i can install adb and where do i find the zip file and how do i find out which version i need. Do i need to connect my phone to computer all the time? Do i run adb sideload command on my computer?
Sorry for being noob but i am technological handicapped. Mobile repair centres are suggesting to factory reset but that would result in data loss. Would you be kind enough to help me.
Regards

in my case i cant get any working Method without unlocking bootloader ( that means data wipe ) so i took the risk and finally succeed without data wipe. currently my device is BL unlocked and running a Custom Rom
After lots of reading of the different detailed posts, finally mustered all courage. Connected my phone which is in recovery mode and with 'adb devices' it returned the 'List of devices' only and not my phone details. I further, tried running command adb sideload "zip file" as suggested above but it returned the following error:
C:\Users\Ossn\Desktop\adbtools>adb sideload UL-ASUS_X00T-WW-16.2017.2004.063-user.zip
adb: sideload connection failed: no devices/emulators found
adb: trying pre-KitKat sideload method...
adb: pre-KitKat sideload ULconnection failed: no devices/emulators found
Checked my device manager and there is not yellow exclamation sign. I am running Windows 10 Enterprise edition. (I checked adb with my other working phone and it worked).
How do i solve this.. I am at my wits end now...

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 not booting
Hello,
I'm facing the same problem as described. Initially the Chrome crashed along with Gmail. I just deleted some Cache for chrome and few other application.s After restarting, it did not boot, just got stuck to the Asus icon with four colored balls moving vertically.
After going in recovery mode it shows an error as ''couldn't load bitmap fill_ball..error -7 Supported API: 3.
If anyone could help in this with detailed steps would be highly obliged . It has paralysed me for all ongoing activities.

As you suggested, i tried again with the same result:
adb: sideload connection failed: no devices/emulators found
adb: trying pre-KitKat sideload method...
adb: pre-KitKat sideload ULconnection failed: no devices/emulators found
PS: when i connect my phone in recovery, the device manager shows LeMobile Android Device and under that shows Android ADB Recovery Interface. I hope that means all the usb drivers are okay and my computer recognize my android phone but still adb sideload command give the above error.
I am running out of patience now as i have been struggling with this for 3 days and by tomorrow morning i would be needing my phone. So I have to factory reset and lose all my data which is depressing.

In recovery mode type "fastboot devices" and see if your phone is listed. (Also, try using CMD from platform tools instead of Minimal ADB and see if it helps)
Further, do you have access to Windows 7 ? Some people have reported errors on Windows 10 but they have been successful on Windows 7 + USB 2.0

If your phone is not listed in fastboot devices (or adb devices although that works when you are booted to system) then the phone is probably not being recognized by PC.
