Anyone else feel the ring and alarm volume doesn't go low enough before muting?
IMO there is to large a jump from mute to the next step.

When I test a ringtone it plays it about 2x louder than when it actually rings! I've disable all of the fancy sound settings i.e. louder in bag etc. both system and ring volume are on max but still it is very very quiet!
Any ideas?
Try setting volume controls to single slider, and then back to dual sliders, and checking the ring volume. My phone is mega loud, for the first time with HTC phones in 10 years I don't have the volume to max.
I have 15 "levels" of media volume, but only 7 for ringer and notifications? Level 1 of media volume is EXACTLY how loud I want my ringers and notifications to play when I am at my desk at work, but level 1 of ringer/notifications is far too loud. This really bothers me. I guess I need to edit all my notifications and ringtones to be naturally more quiet.
Hmm, does anyone here have problems with their alarm notification not playing as loud as it should? @[email protected] or is it just me?
i think it may be just you :\ my alarm wakes me up just fine in the morning
That's weird, is there a setting where you could set your alarm's volume?
Because I have my volume on 20... and the sound of the alarm when it's playing is very faint.
Edit: Nevermind it's working fine now. I think it just depends on which ringtone you choose. For me, alarm 02 doesn't play as loud as it should.
I agree, when u test the alarm sound in alarm app, it is very loud. This morning I woke up before it went off, and when it did it was not that loud. I'll research and report if I find anything.
The alarm, like your ringtone, seems to be the kind that increases in volume as it continues to play. I've not been able to find a setting that disables the increasing volume feature.
I agree though, it does seem kinda quiet initially, then the pauses between when the alarm plays seem to be too long.
Could not find a thread that mentioned this issue so started a new one. If there is one, please link me. I am on stock unrooted N4 and love it. In the last couple of weeks I have noticed something odd with volume when playing google music app. I can be listening to a song and if I hit volume up. I get the ringer volume level which is already set pretty high but, moving the bar left or right does not change the volume of the song I am listening to. Other times when I am listening to a google play song and hit the volume, I get the speaker icon showing midway in the bar and I am able to raise or lower volume of song ok. The volume at midpoint when listening to music app is high and can increase even more but, when the ringer volume displays in google music app, the overall volume is half as loud and lose notification sound for incoming texts and mail.
The only way to resolve this issue is to reboot or power off the phone. I am using light flow and I wonder if the app's volume setting are causing the problem. If so, I may remove light flow lite app.

Anyone know of a way to boost alarm clock volume? I've cranked the alarm volume to Max and can barely hear it when it goes off due to the sound being so low
