Annoying Volume Levels - Vibrant General

I have 15 "levels" of media volume, but only 7 for ringer and notifications? Level 1 of media volume is EXACTLY how loud I want my ringers and notifications to play when I am at my desk at work, but level 1 of ringer/notifications is far too loud. This really bothers me. I guess I need to edit all my notifications and ringtones to be naturally more quiet.

Wizard volume control: WTF?

I think I just about destroyed my hearing this morning starting up some tunes on TCPMP. With volume level at 1, it was so loud that my ears are in pain right now. I can never seem to get the volume to work properly with the headphones that came with the device.. either the music is too loud, phone too soft, system noises too loud, etc.. Has anyone had this issue? Also, what's up with only 6 volume level settings? Is there some kind of a 3rd party volume control around that might fix some of my problems?
normalise them with any wav/mp3 editors 1st...
have you tried adjusting your headphone volume? Probably it's set to too loud thats why even at volume 1 it's blasting.
1)Use the volume slider on the headphone cable
2)Set TCPMP not to use the system volume. That way I always have the system sound at max setting, and then set between TCPMP's setting and the headphones' one.
TCPMP volume etc.
I have the system volume disabled and use the pre-amp's volume on TCPMP, which, incidentally, you can set at 0%, 25%, 75% and 100%. 25% is MORE than adequate when watching movies etc. I only use MORTPLAYER for music and I also don't use the system volume.
I leave system volume at 100%.

Ring/Text Volume when wearing Headphones WAY TO LOUD!

There I am listening to some cool tunes with my G2 and headphones. All of a sudden my ringtone BLASTS out in my headphones as someone is calling.
Can anyone advise how to have the ringtone sound at low volume when wearing 'phones, whilst leaving the ringtone at it's normal level when headphones aren't plugged in?
I could adjust the ring volume manually each time but surely there is an easier way.

Having the familiar problem that notifications sounds are played louder than ring sounds - always!
If i worked in HTC's R&D department, i'd be such a pain in the ar*e, as i'd never let any of this get through to the general public!
Who's testing this stuff?! Monkeys?!!

Go to Settings, Sound & Display and you will find that you can set the volume of Media, Ringtone and Notifications separately (Ringtones and Notifications are under Ringer Volume).
Alternatively, try Toggle Settings from the Market. You can set the volume of Ringtones, Alarms, Media and Notifications independently for each profile, and create a Headset profile which will turn up the Media volume and turn down the others. Unfortunately it is not possible to create an automatic Headset profile so you would still have to select the profile manually.

[Q] Ringing is very quiet!

When I test a ringtone it plays it about 2x louder than when it actually rings! I've disable all of the fancy sound settings i.e. louder in bag etc. both system and ring volume are on max but still it is very very quiet!
Any ideas?
Try setting volume controls to single slider, and then back to dual sliders, and checking the ring volume. My phone is mega loud, for the first time with HTC phones in 10 years I don't have the volume to max.

[Q] Volume issues

I like to use a mp3 for notifications and for my ringtone, but when I choose a sound file it is WAY too loud, even on the lowest setting right before vibrate. Is there a way to globally reduce the sound volume?

On 6.0, how to set DnD during work hours but allow music/podcast apps?!

Do Not Disturb has three options:
Total Silence
Alarms Only
Priority Only
None of these options offers the ability to set calls and texts to vibrate but allow you to continue listening to a music or podcasts app.
For example: I work 9am-6pm, so I want my DnD hours to be 8:50am-6:10pm. However, I'm often still driving to work from 8:50-9am. My music apps won't play any sound after 8:50. They will continue to "play" but be muted.
Has anyone else resolved this? I've thought about using Tasker, but this means I have to manually set the following Audio actions: alarm volume, bt voice volume, dtmf volume, haptic feedback, in-call volume, media volume, notification volume, ringer volume, sound effects, system volume, etc.
Another example: I want my phone to be vibrate-only while I'm at work, but I want to be able to play YouTube videos and hear them on my lunch break without manually changing my DnD settings.
When your phone is on vibrate, media volume is unaffected. Dnd affects all volume. It sound like you might want to do some Tasker profiles for vibrate.
