How to enable OTG on Nexus without any touch abilities. - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings All !
I have 2 old Nexus 4. The are functional except touch. I bought OTG adapters just to find out N4 didn't had that.
I have found a fiew tutorials on how to get OTG, but they all use the screen at some point to get the new software in.
I've figured out that maybe via ADB (and volume up/down/power buttons) I could be able to do this ...
Anyone did that in the past ? I also have a Bluetooth mouse but I can't pair it because I can't touch the screen.
Thanks all !

USB capability

Hey guys,
I want to know what is possible with our USB-Connector.
What does it support/not support? (Host-Controller, driver...)
How is it build up? (beside the specs in the Wiki)
I'm happy with all helpful answers!

usb
It's a mini ext USB and dispite the bumff from HTC will work with any ext mini USB device.
My friends got a USB charger for his car , this works fab in our phones.. have a look in teh interweb , as long as it's gto our connecter it will work .. ( however there are some issues with poliarity as some of the pins are set up diffrently ..
I searched the internet about this topic (because forum search seems to be a bit crappy )
So I found a thread about USB-Host in Touch HD.
Now my question:
Is there a possibility to use the Touch HD as USB-Host device or is our Touch HD just a pure Client?
I thought about a mouse or external Harddisk. But if there is no Host-Controller, it's impossible
PS: I just found some thread about this topic (search funtion is weird finds "usb host" but nothing with "usb")
So from what I see, there is no host capability with our Touch HD?
Nobody tried Zeno driver?
There is an old 3D about HD USBHost: you could search.
HD has Host capability by chip but extUSB lacks of output power: serch 3D to confirm that

Many thanks D'rath, that mainly what i want to hear
I think it's possible to bypass the lack of power by an Y-Cable or something like that. If not, i'm going to solder it together
Lets hope it works
I tried it
But I got bad news so far
Just soldered a USB cable together, so power supply is provided and I installed Zeno USB Host Drivers to get mouse support.
But it didn't worked
Just got the popup with "New USB Mouse" but nothing more.
Maybe there is some hope, that it will work, but I didn't get it to work.

[Q] Help: Adding bluetooth mouse to Nexus 7 with broken touchscreen

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and a few days ago I noticed the screen glass seemed to be popping up out of the plastic a little, I tried to push it back down and the glass panel on the screen cracked along the edge.
The tablet still works fine but will not accept input from the touchscreen, I plan to replace the screen since I know they're glued to the glass panel, but until I can locate a replacement screen panel I'd like to use my tablet with an apple magic mouse.
I know it's possible to pair a magic mouse with the tablet, my question is how can I do this without being able to use the touchscreen?
Also if anyone has a source that sells the replacement screen+glass it would be much appreciated, I can't seem to find any that have it in stock.
My tablet is unlocked and rooted, running a custom kernel and stock JB.
Well I managed to add my bluetooth device, posting here in case someone else needs the information.
I used a USB OTG cable to plug in a wireless receiver for a logitech mouse/KB combo and it was immediately recognized by the tablet, so I used that to configure the bluetooth.
It can also be done by modifying the bluetooth configuration directly using ADB, but only if USB debugging is enabled. (Flashing a pre-modified bluetooth config might also work, but I haven't tried)

Dualshock 3 refuses to work via OTG

Morning.
Last week or so I've been trying to get my PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller working with my Nexus 7 via the Micro USB port, and I'm about to give up completely.
I've googled enough to make my head spin, so this is pretty much my last hope for a solution. I've tried with 4.1.1, 4.1.2 & 4.2.2.
I've mailed the developers of the apps mentioned below, but have yet to recieve any response. This was done more than just 1-2 days ago.
I've tried with & without rooting.
The controller works fine when connecting it to my computer & Transformer Prime. It's been close to fully charged all the time.
The Gameklip cable & the OTG-cable works. I can access HDD's, flashdrives & even the SD-card on my PSP.
While using the OTG-cable, I've tried with different USB - Mini USB cables.
Sixaxis Controller using Bluetooth works fine, not a single problem there. I can also add my Nexus 7's MAC-address to the controller via the app without any trouble.
USB/BT Joystick Center 8 finds the controller, but refuses to accept any input from it. The same developer has released a joystick analyzer, and it recognizes the correct vendor & product ID of the controller.
The keylayout file exists & is correctly mapped in my usr/keylayout directory. I've also tried using the Transformers keylayout on the Nexus 7.
And here's the kicker, the spare Gamestop Xbox 360 controller I've got laying around works without a problem. Which almost led to me frisbeeing this ****ing thing out the window. And even though it works, it's not a viable alternative for me since it doesn't fit in the Gameklip.
At this point I'm up for crazy ideas, so any help, no matter how far out there, is appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read through this, and if you have any ideas that might help, thanks in advance!

Sorry for the thread resurrection here but I have searched high and low on the internet and this is the only thing that I find that comes close to the same exact problem I am having. The only difference is I have a galaxy s3 running cyanogenmod 10.2. Same issue on 10.1. I can get a wired 360 controller to work just fine and even a Wii classic controller with a USB adapter to work. No Dualshock 3 though. You ever able to fix this?

[Q] get mouse working broken digitizer

Ok need a little help with a nexus 4 with a broken digitizer.
Everything looks like it works but no touch.
Cost 150+ euro to fix, not going to happen buying a nexus 5.
But would love to use the nexus 4 as a media player with xbmc.
I just need to get a mouse working and then I am good.
BUT HOW?
how do I get a mouse running on this thing I have a OTG cable, I have plugged in a power usb hub.
But I get nothing.
Any help please
King Regards,
JP
There's no way to set it up without a working touchscreen. Your best bet is getting a friend with a Nexus 4 to let you borrow their N4. You replace the board and setup everything using the touchscreen to automatically connect to a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and then put the mobo back in the bad nexus 4 and there you go.
Or you interested in selling it?
Also, for OTG you need to flash Franco Kernel and use it's companion app (nonfree) to enable it. Not sure of any other way to do it. That also requires a touchscreen.
I think maybe your best bet is somehow installing a VNC server for android. Maybe via ADB install? *shrug* You can flash recovery and that will remain fully usable without touch.
that kinda sucks.
what you offering for my nexus?

If you still have a problem/your nexus 4:
if you aren't rooted, find out how to root [nexus root toolkit], if you have fastboot already it should be a breeze
You need a usb-otg Y cable so that power goes to the phone
install franco kernel and ziddey mod (search forums should come up quick cuz they are awesome)
then should work like a charm (plug and play)
My nexus 4 runs a mouse and 1tb hdd off an externally powered hub, but I could never get it to run with my normal otg cable only the Y cable... I think it's because nexus needs the power surge to know it is connected or something (more complicated that I don't understand).

[Troubleshooting] Nexus 6P - Latest MM - Universal USB Controller Support (NOT!)

Hello guys,
recently I've got a fully working usb otg cable and I've tried random devices on it, everything worked (like mouse and keyboard) or usb stick, except the Speedlink cheap controller I've got ... here is the question.
Does anyone knows if there are any mods tweaking it and allowing us to connect a usb controller too?
It will be nice if I could fix it because it will get me out of buying a bluetooth controller.
Have a nice day, George.
Worth the bump,
Can someone please direct me on how can I code it myself or at least discuss with me if it is possible?
It will be wise for the sake of my programming skills to get into it.
Have a nice day, George.
Bump, Im about to start the attemp of creating my own thing about this. Let me known about your useful knownledge about this thing!
EDIT:
I've already found out that it is possible to connect my controller.
