i am really confused which one to buy. as i am from note 3, it is normal for me to go for s5. but i got some negative comment about s5. phone bezel is wide, front camera is 2mp when others are going for 5mp front(like oppo find 7a and htc one m8). but still i have a weak spot for samsung. so please suggest me honestly. i will see this post everday. In Shaa Allah this monday i will buy anyone based upon your suggestion.
s5 white is 2039rm where s5 black is 2080rm
htc one m8 is 2199 rm
z2 is 2499rm(why so expensive la?)
i previously used many set. if you need to do anything with that here is a short list of them for past 2 years(s2, s3, s4, note 2, note 3, xperia z, htc one x, nokia lumia 920, lenevo a880, lenevo s930, iphone 4s, 5 etc, cant remember all).

JK, but yeah, like total music, only when charging for me, I think. Not even sure if it heats up all the time or sometimes cause I don't touch my phone when it's charging.
Definitely wait for the LG G3 :fingers-crossed:

The phone has heating problem. When i download from play store, it become so hot in the camera area. Other function cool. When i look from the 170 degree, suddenly there is a greenish color shift. I think may be factory default screen protector. Also color rendering is not accurate. As i used iphone and lenevo. I saw almost same color rendering on those two ips display. Which i think is accurate. But in s5 the color is totally different of that thing. I think may be cause of adapt display. The display a bit yellowish. I think cause of the factory defailt screen protector.

With Cinema display setting it's quite good. Much better than Standard if you like accuracy rather than oversaturation.
Mine G900F has a heating problem when used actively for updates and downloads probably is something related to the CPU usage. But in normal day to day usage is with good working temperatures. However I would check other phones as well and if I owned a Note 3 I wouldn`t change it as the Note 3 is amazing phone i even think it`s better then the S5 or very close.
Hmmm..ecery device has its cons. S5 is no difference. But we can live with that.

Hi guys,
ok so trading my Note Edge for a Note 4. I have the Note Edge, Note 4 (black 910C) and an brand new Note 4 (White 910F) with me. So far the 910C looks like its not a fake but I found the following:
1. On the 910C The S-Pen with the wording "Samsung" is printed but really light. The Edge and 910F you can easily see "Samsung" written on it.
2. With CPU-Z the 910F says the screen size is 5.71" where the 910C says its 5.66". This is strange but looks like its true?
3. The screen on the 910F seems a bit more bright than on the 910C. Is that normal? Here's the pics:

ps: The settings are 100% the same. When you look at the colours with "Check my android" they all seem to be the same

does the stylus button work with the phones when the stylus is not touching the screen ? fake ones dont have a working stylus button because the hardware for doing that is very expensive. all the rest can be faked.

The easiest way of checking whether or not a Note 4 is real is by using the stylus button while it's lifted off the screen.
I bought a SM-N910C on Colombia and my cousin bought another one here in Brazil, I tested both on Antutu and the score is very close with no much difference. But I see that the screen is a little bit different, mine is a little bit more brightness than his Note 4 and. The white color is different too, mine seem to be more whitish and his more yellowish. Is more easy to pull his S Pen too.
I'm sure that both are genuine devices, but we see some differences.

You dont even need to press the button. If you see small dot on screen while hovering with s pen above the screen it is a good sign that note is real. You can also install app "phone info samsung" from play store to do some checking.

Ok so seems then the phone is real. The S-Pen has a pointer on the screen without clicking the button. Button also does work on the screen. Think his S-Pen might just have been used a lot or something but works fine. I did install the app and this is some screenshots of the results:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ka29w5m8ekb0hbk/AAAXj3peAZ7BOPF_qxxE3jz8a?dl=0
So seems that its original and that the screen size is 5.66 for some strange reason. Perhaps just the Octa version then. Anyone else has this screen size? Sending my Edge to the guy tomorrow so hopefully this is real then
So I'm seriously considering upgrading and after seeing this unboxing I think I'm sold. Shame no IR blaster tho to me that just seems stupid.
https://youtu.be/t99B6IPATCg
Is the bigger battery and larger screen the reason that you are planning on upgrading? Because in the looks department it appears identical.
The only difference is van find is 4gb ram and it's bigger screen. I not sure it's as pocket friendly as the original edge and we can now launch apps from edge screen..

Other differences -
It doesn't have the IR blaster ...
and it supports wireless fast charging (fast is a relative term as its 120 minutes with the fast wireless charging)
The s6 edge has an ir blaster and it's got fast charge
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
But not fast wireless charging. Honestly it looks exactly like the Edge and probably just a bigger disappointment. I'm definitely leaving Samsung after this phone.
I wonder why not 128gb version? I don't want to go back to 64gb.
Sorry, but thread closed as a duplicate. Please continue the discussion here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/unboxing-live-t3179210/post62339163
Thanks!
I currently have an S7 Edge I got when I had to return my Note 7. Is it worth the money to switch to the V20 unlocked version that BH sells even though it doesn't offer Wifi Calling? Also I hear about the camera glass breaking on it as well easily.
Finally, would the iPhone 7 Plus be a better alternative to the V20?
I'm seriously thinking about it and wondering what v20 users think.
Few comparisons.
For Better camera : stay with S7E. Awesome low light pics .
For Screen size : Go for V20 larger displays.
For Screen resolution : stay with S7E way better resolution
Edge vs 2nd screen : v20 I am finding it more useful then S7E.
Power button : stay with S7E don't have to lift the phone to power on with S7E . V20 power button is in the back .
Notifications : S7E has notifications light . V20 doesn't. Notifications on 2nd screen .
For mobile pay : S7E is winner Samsung pay. V20 Android pay is hit and miss.
Removable battery : Go for V20
Wireless charging : S7E , v 20 doesn't have this feature.
Will never go for iPhone there is no comparison between all 3. Hands down android any day.
Actually as I am typing this planing to go back to my S7E . Lol
Hope this helps

I get bored with phones lol. I had the s7 edge back in march, then bought the Note 7 then had to return that and got the Edge. Nearly got the iphone plus instead of the Edge but it was out of stock. Now i see the v20 with a larger screen and more features.
Also better cases for teh v20 that are more protective because it has a flat screen. Im using a Defender for the Edge which this screen protector actually fits tight to the screen but you have to tap hard because it's a thicker kind of plastic. Im thinking about getting Speck candygrip shell for it and sticking with the edge maybe.

Actually, you don't need the power button except you want to turn the phone off/restart the phone.
Hit the screen twice can turn the screen on/off
I had the s7 then went for the note 7 and when I had to turn that back in I went with the s7 edge. The edge was an ok phone but I felt it was a downgrade from the note 7.
This is how I rate the edge to the v20.
Screen Samsung wins it hands down for brightness and auto brightness. Where as the v20 seems to not know what the correct amount should be. Plus the color on the edge is more vibrant and richer than the v20.
Camera ill just say toss up as the note 7 spoiled me.
The second screen on the v20 is very useful if you want to switch between two apps a lot and don't want to press the square. Also taking screenshots is a breeze with that also. I just hope they come out with more function for the second screen as it has potential. The edge screen I hated as if you was typing in landscape it would pick up touches from the inside of my thumb and index finger.
If you need water resistant then keep the edge but where v20 gives that up you do get a removable battery. That can allow the phone to last longer and keep you from cracking open a sealed device when you have a battery issue and want to replace.
I don't care where the power button is placed. As with all my cellphones over the years has had then in all different locations. So up to you if that's an issue or not but with it in the back and recessed it keeps from being turned on like with the Samsung phones. So that can be a plus in the v20 side.
I do miss Samsung pay and wish the app could be placed on any phone and not Samsung only. I have gift cards on my account but guess I'll just use my s6 edge plus for that. So if you don't have a backup Samsung device might be hard to use your cards.
Big plus for the V20 is the built in DAC for headphones. I'd you have higher end buds or phones the fax will engage and makes it sound way better than the stock sound chip. Was the one reason I got this phone was to try the dac. Sure it can't compete with the stand alone dac/amps but for portability the phones dac works surprisingly well. If you want to trick the dac to turn on because your headsets resistance is low. Just buy a little male/female aux cable and plug that in first then your headsets and it tricks it on. Be careful. As it can damage the cheaper headsets/buds
In the end both phones are good devices and each has their strong points. Swapped the s7 edge for the v20 because I had a. Note 7 and felt the edge was a step backwards.
So hope this helps you and as far as the v20 camera glass breaking easily. Take that with a grain of salt. You don't know how the person treated their phone. The same thing went on when the HTC One M7 came out. People blamed everyone but themselves. First thing all them people on rhw HTC one site would say is I babied my phone. I had a HTC one for 2 years and my lens never cracked.
Good luck on your choice in phone

I came from the Note 5 if that helps. I had edge features modded in and I never really found them useful. The first week it's like yeah this is awesome than after that your like meh. I honestly have found the V20 to be a pretty good experience so far. It's easier to develop and the community on it has grown tremendously already. I see a bright future for the V20 just give it time.
Even me i think to swapping the v20 because the battery ln stand by is not good also i missed the LED notification? but at the same time i like the lg software more then samsung double tap ,gallery ,ir.... .
If go to the battery life section all the results is awesome? compared to v20 actually i think to wait until th G6 or S8 release then i will decide which one go with .

if I were you i'll just going to wait for the S8...
the only good thing about the LG v20 is just the removable battery...
If you get an iphone you wont need the xda app i guess. See you in 2 years.
I was in the exact same bought. I had an S7E, then bought Note 7, then had to return Note 7, so bought an iPhone 7 Plus. Stayed on the iphone for about 3 days, but couldnt take it anymore so bought an S7E again. Then I started missing the 5.7 inch screen so went for V20 !
In my honest opinion after trying out every damn option out there is that they are ALL THE SAME. I really say which is BETTER between Note 7, iphone7+, S7E, and even Pixel XL. They are all good. Sure, each one have advantages but thats about it. Neither one has a BAD camera. neither has a BAD screen, you know ?
Now considering that, the key thing for me boils down to price. and that is different in each part of the world. here in New Zealand, i have to pay 1600$ for a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus, 1400$ for 128GB Pixel XL, and 900$ for V20 or S7E. So the choice is clear really.
Between S7E and V20, i would defintly go for V20 having tried both. once the S7e gets the final non-beta nougat update and receives all the features the Note 7 had, then it can contend with V20.
at the end of the day, i am thankful for so many good options ! haha
---------- Post added at 12:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 AM ----------
SO just to clarify, if you need to add alot of money on top of your S7E for a V20, then i wouldnt suggest doing it, because you dont REALLY get anything extra, especially when the Nougat update hits the S7e. but if you dont have to add much money and you are looking for something new, then you will definitely love the V20.
IS the unlocked version worth it even though it's missing wifi calling?

No. I sold my LG V20 today. very bad battery life, I had running out of battery in 6 hours. I had Note 7 and had been using all Note series. S7E is the best option for you right now. Yes, knew some of you will feel like that. Me and my brother bought my LG V20 after reading reviews here for all the good functions, especially the battery life. I had a spare battery set, but then if the battery lasts only 6-7 hours, then even 2 batteries weren't enough. I have installed Accubattery and it showed sometimes it drains 1700 to 2000 ma per hour. Even if I would turn off the data and WiFi. I even tried Greenify. Even blocked background data for many apps. Maybe my model here in Hong Kong is more affected. But anyway, after receiving 3 updates, it was still same, looks like all updates were for security patches. I miss my Galaxy Note 7, but Huawei Mate 9 gives me similar feel, except the waterproofing, which I don't think is going to be a big problem.

With all the s8 and s8+ reviews finally out.. how many of you feel s7 edge is still a better phone? Yeah cameras are slightly better and in most cases that's enough reason to upgrade but I don't have any complains regarding current camera performance. I really really really like the screen of s8 but that fingerprint scanner location seems pretty annoying...
Although m very tempted to upgrade but the voice of reason says stick with s7e edge...
Anyone with me?

I use this phone for both work and pleasure. So it needs comfort. In my opinion, I do not need to upgrade to s8 because there are some things that make me uncomfortable especially the location of the fp scanner
