[GUIDE][COOLTOOL] Display CPU + GPU temperatures in statusbar (no root/xposed needed) - Xperia Z5 General

Hi friends, as i see people complaining about temperature but they dont know the actual cpu temperature (and the people like me who wants to do extensive monitoring on top of all apps) , i decided to write an easy to follow guide on how to monitor these temperatures in statusbar.
You need cooltool from playstore installed, no root or xposed is needed for this operation.
i configured my statusbar to show as less as possible in cooltool, so only CPU usage, CPU0, CPU1 and GPU temperatures will be displayed after following these steps.
These steps may apply for other devices too, but please note that the sysfs paths may differ from device to device and even from android version to another.
1. Open up cooltool and swipe to the second tab ''labels''.
2. Make sure CPU usage, Custom Label 1, Custom Label 2, and Custom Label 3 are ticked and the rest is unticked.
3. Hit ''Fine Tuning'' below
4. Hit ''Custom Label 1'' and configure like this:
Code:
Prefix: G1:
Postfix:
Path: /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone12/temp
Regex: (\d+)
Replacement Pattern: $1
5. Hit ''Custom Label 2'' and configure like this:
Code:
Prefix: C1
Postfix:
Path: /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone7/temp
Regex: (\d+)
Replacement Pattern: $1
6. Hit ''Custom Label 3'' and configure like this:
Code:
Prefix: C2
Postfix:
Path: /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone13/temp
Regex: (\d+)
Replacement Pattern: $1
7. Hit ''OK''
Now it should show in statusbar, if not, hit ''Show Panel''.
You can theme it to your likings and align it in the spot that suits u best via the various sliders and settings, just play with it.
Additionally, u can disable notification via settings>apps>cooltool>notifications
If all done, things should look like attached screenshots.
G1 = GPU temperature
C1 = CPU0 temperature
C2 = CPU1 temperature

Thank you!

I found something online for our 810 dragon sensor mapping. I think OP's mapping is correct here.
See the link below, there is a link to our 810 mapping.

I took from sonydevxperia's github so it should be right, and the link to CAF above also point out exactly as mine.

You should not trust the Open-Source Sony AOSP more than Qualcomm Engineers (in general you should not trust anyone involved in the Sony AOSP project too much )

Nothing to be fixed there, it works properly. No changes to dtb's, no recompilation needed.

Then u didn't fill in the regex field. (\d+)
U have to fill in exactly as mentioned in OP.
Also, since COOLTOOL only allows for setting 3 custom labels, we can't set up temperature per core. But does it matter? No. Important thing is to check cpu0 and cpu0 and GPU.

[STweaks Perseus Profile] SPK-Profile

Hi everyone,
Im here to share my stweaks settings with perseus kernel and get some opinions.
Objectives:
- Get full performance when i need (with 1600mHz and gpu at 733mHz)
- Average battery duration (more than 1 day with regular use, like games, xmbc, web surfing, listen music and do some calls)
- Fluid usage
To make that profile i have used this guide to understand better the configuration @ link

I think this is what you're looking for. I found a nice balance by setting all the color gains to a number higher than zero; all gains are the same number so an individual color isn't over or under saturated compared to the others. You can experiment with what you like. Personally, I've got all my gains set to 10.
RED GAIN=10
GREEN GAIN=10
BLUE GAIN=10
YELLOW GAIN=10
CYAN GAIN=10
MAGENTA GAIN=10
To my eyes, these numbers give a nice balance between Perseus "default" and the Samsung stock oversaturation, plus the annoying stock blue tint in whites is still gone. "Enable register hook" and "Enable master sequence" are both checked of course.

As far as i know Perseus kernel is no longer in development so I suggest that you move on to another kernel to get better support.
Also you're using an S4? So i think you posted on a wrong forum too.
And the OP here hasn't updated his thread since March so I deem that he is no longer active.

Camera app has been updated!

The Camera app has just been updated on my Z5 .. unfortunately, I forgot to take a screenshot of the changelog (but mostly it seemed to be about the UI and Superior Auto seems to be improved). EDIT: see @schecter7's post directly below mine for the changelog!
Looking at it, the UI was changed the same as how it was supposed to look like based on the promo videos and demo units from before. Sadly, there is no manual shutter speed yet as far as I can see, manual focus, and still cannot change ISO when shooting at 20MP/23MP mode.
We all know thought that Sony tends to have 'hidden' changes to their algorithm whenever they have these kinds of updates as evidenced from updates before. I'm still waiting for the complete changelog from XperiaBlog but so haven't time yet to do any extensive testing.
Did you notice any significant changes in yours apart from the UI changes?
Changelog attached
Edit: Now we could swipe to change modes, added another (third) screenshot.

Limitet manual , no iso at 20-23 mp
Low light photo blure decreased
Left blure rest with no change
I installed the update and I've noticed that the problem with noise in low-light... in fact ingeneral is a bit better. It's still not as good as the galaxy line as far as crispness / saturation, but I don't think that's Sony's goal. For real, if I could install the Samsung camera app and libraries on this phone, I'd be all over that. Anyway it does seem to have improved, noticeably.
Where can I change the GPS tag and save folder location in this new app? Can't find it. Thanks.

Trying not to speak too soon as I've not done anything near a comprehensive test but there do seem to be improvements in processing, though not as marked as I had expected. The one biggie is the zoom: to my eyes, the processing on the zoom is much better now; the sharpening fringing on edges is much smaller, which means that it's less of an oil painting mess when you crop the zoomed image. And that's in low indoor light.
8MP generally seems sharper.
More to follow.
On the interface, I note that they've hidden the exposure and colour adjustments on SA in a menu (boo!) but given a button to switch them off when you want to return to auto (yay!) swings and roundabouts but generally pleased.
EDIT: Yep, definitely better digital zoom. Good enough to piece together small text (Just about legibly) at 5x. Trust me: it was not doing that before!

Interesting. Mine is like this... I have even cleared the camera data.

So still no manual shutter speed in this update?
I thought that this would be a given since the Z5 supports manual features now, or don't they?
Is it possible to control the shutter speed with 3rd party apps? What's the resolution and the shutter speed range? Is it actually working or does the system override the manual settings?

You seem to be missing the "More" option. That's where the rest of the settings in the screenshots posted here are.

Did yours update over your phone or by the linked app file?

The fisheye effect at long focal lengths at the edges of pictures appears to have been corrected. Definite colour balance tweaks, spot on now for me.

Through auto update. Tried uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck. Don't really want to format the phone just because of the camera.

As it is noon now the head of my notification panel looks like this, in the afternoon it'll change. Why is this happening? I didn't install any particular app to get this function.
