Hello, my big brother is recently considering buying a Nexus 6P and I was wondering if I can do something for him, and I thought it might be a good idea if I install a new ROM (stable and light) his new phone, so I asked him if it's all right and he agreed but then I asked myself what ROM on Nexus 6P should I recommend him to install.
So I need you guys (the pros) can give me a stable ROM other than the Original ROM, and all I can think of is Resurrection Remix but on the XDA youtube channel the guy said it's not very stable, so could you guys be so kind and give me a recommendation? Should my brother stick with the Original ROM or should he switch to a new ROM? and if he should switch what ROM can install?
Thank you
If you just want stability then the stock rom is the best job for that,if you want light roms then Slim6 or Uberstock is the way to go, and if you want solid all-rounders then jgcaap's CM13 builds or Beans' PureNexus rom are really good.
Pure Nexus is probably the way to go, it's based on stock but has some good useful features thrown in.

You have to take things into consideration like if he uses Android pay. Some Roms don't have support for it. While custom Roms are fun sometimes they lose features that built in to stock

Can you please guys give me a suggestion about a rom that is stable, fast and that all is working?I bought the phone yesterday...thanks a lot!
There aren't many ROMs with everything working. Most ROMs have everything but the fingerprint reader workinng. If you want EVERYTHING working, go for SkyDragon ROM or OxySlim. Whichever one fits your personal preferences best. Theyre based off of stock OxygenOS so everything should be working with them. I'm currently using SkyDragon and can personally say that it is really nice. There are also a few other ROMs out there based off of HydrogenOS, but I personally don't prefer those. Good luck!

Yep, development for the OP2 is NOTHING like the OPO. Sure it's due to the FPS code deal. But welcome to a world of sh*t! Oh and enjoy your oneplus2

First you must convert your bootloader back to OxygenOS/Lollipop before you can even boot CM13 on your phone. Then you just flash the latest Grarak build and Gapps and you're done. [emoji1]

Hello my fellow S5 users! I just wanna know what people think is the most similar as ROM for S5 atm, when used S4 and S3 I used Slimrom as I'm not updated in the ROM univers I'm not sure what its called atm, but I would like something similar light weight but also customizable. I have looked at xtrestolite ROM and saw it as a good replacement as I use omega atm (4.4.4). The reason why I'm at KitKat is just because of stability and I would like that in my new ROM as well. It would be much appreciated!
Btw om not starting a best ROM thread I'm just asking for something similar to Slimrom that is also stable!

I have tested every rom I've come across and Xtrestolite v2.3 is the rom that passed the test of time Phoenix and Fusion rom I didnt find stable enough until very recently and there are some recent updates. There are probably more TW-roms thats good but those are the ones I like.
Probably any CM12.1-based rom is as stable as can be expected now in my humble opion. Personally I like Blisspop and Resurrection Remix, but Cyanogenmod might just be the most minimalistic I think.
Hope I helped

Yeah I have had some problems with random reboots on Marshmallow, I would try 6.0 again today since I'm not sure if they fixed it. Cm12.1 is just one flash away

What do you mean?
I got an s5 on Verizon can anyone help me get root and the best Rom on it? Would really appreciate it as the phone seems bogged down ! Thanks
I'd like to use CM12.1 (marshmallow) but I realize there still are no stable release? Why? Is it not good enough yet?
I've had a pretty bad experience with CM on my old Galaxy S4 so I'm a little afraid to remove the stock recovery and ROM from my Moto X Play. I want to make sure that it's bug free (or as buggy as stock) and suitable for day use. In other words I want to flash it and know it's fully reliable. Given the fact that there are only nightly releases, are they reliable enough for this?
Thanks

I can't vouch for the latest releases, as my xplay has been broken for like 3 months now, but being a nightly doesn't inherently make it unstable. Stable builds are usually relabeled nightlies. I say give it a shot. You can always go back to stock if you don't like it, unless you're speaking about voiding warranty

Oh! I thought nightlies were unstable releases. So before yours broke, you had a good experience? No problem with camera or other stuff?
It's not really a question of warranty but rather just not having any issues when I need it to work. For instance, with my Galaxy S4, the camera kept crashing while I was out with my kids so I lost time trying to make it work when I wanted to take a picture. That's the kind of thing I wouldn't want happening just because I got another ROM.
Indeed I did (have a good experience). If you're every unsure of a nightly, head to the thread. You'll usually find one or several people commenting if it's no good.

Yeah I had a look (I just realized I was talking about CM13 not 12.1) but given there are now 205 pages I thought I'd ask about the nightly situation in a different thread.
I think I may try it and restore it from the ROM available in the forum.
Oh and I keep wondering, given Motorola never actually released the ROM, how can someone make it available?
I m using nightly for like 3 months ......and I can say nightly is far better than stock if you are looking for customization and speed. I recently tried to go back to stock 6.0.1 but that experience is so "LAGGY" that I again return back to CM.I can say that CM nightly build working best for me with my requirements(like gaming and also photography and editing and HEAVY Customization and many more ) . and about custom recovery,it's a must have tool I suggest as with that I can return back to my previous builds. SO i recommend to go for NEW CM build, but in the end it's upto you.
and if u r still fearing about NIGHTLIES then flash the custom recovery(twrp) and then make backup of whole stock system and then do whatever U want to.
Btw this is the wrong forum to discuss things

Hi, looking for advice on which rom to use. I had a Samsung note 2 running cm13 (thanks to people on this forum) which I loved using. Due to the phone currently not running I snapped up a note 3 and now looking to see what's available for this.
Would I be right in thinking there's a cm 14 ROM that would be similar but newer/upgraded.? Looking for a daily stable ROM.
Thanks for any advice.

Why would you opt for a generic CM rom when you can get an N7 or N5 port (on the Note 3, anyway)?
I would go with an N5 port or if you want something newer, N7 which could come with some small little details. If everything fails, just go with stock. Most stable of them all!
Good luck.
i would recommend for pac rom lp 5.1.1 that is the most stable one! i have already try another marshmallow and nougat rom but i think for it is not still stable even marshmallow have been stabled

Right now, if you want Nougat based ROMs, Resurrection Remix Nougat(RRN) would be your best shot. Not only does it have a great amount of customisations, but it is very stable as far as I know. What's more, if you flashed the Xenial kernel(find it in the development forum) alongside the ROM, you will have awesome battery life. That's my experience with that this ROM, after using it for more than three months.
Have been on true pure since day one... Great stability and speed. Can anyone recommend anything else though? Am looking for a reason to try something new.
As title says , all I really care about is stability and speed. Thx

If you're looking for a 7.1 ROM, try out dirty unicorns. They are not on XDA, but they have a Google+ page and a website with downloads for Clark. It is one of the most stable ROMS right know for this device. If you wanna stay on marshmallow I'm pretty sure Tru pure is still a great ROM, and you probably wouldn't wanna change.
I've gone back to stock with this device as every custom rom that I have tried has had some issue or another, making them unstable. The Brazilian stock nougat TWRP backup that is available on this forum is working surprisingly well on my device, an XT1572 being used in the UK.

None of the ROM'S do gestures as well as the stock gestures work, such as waving hand to wake the phone..etc..but they still work fairly well. Dirty unicorns also has the other moto gestures such as flip the phone to silence among others.
+1 for dirty unicorns. I'm running on their latest official release and its pretty good.
The latest build of stock 6.0.1 + Root + Xposed.
Stock... pure, untouched stock is the best for stability and speed, no doubt about it.
If you mean what CUSTOM rom is best, BrokenOS for MM or Dirty Unicorns for Nougat... Both are good, but neither one is as stable as stock.

I also agree that stock untouched is best way to go besides custom ROMs
i am using AISP rom and it is working well so far. Fast and smooth so far with huge amount of apps in background, also phone is not overhearting
no bootlops, no crashes etc
Ok, I guess I should probably flash a stock rom image then... Where can I find an official link?

OPwas looking for stability and speed, and DU and BrokenOS have been found to be most stable and smooth ROM's out there, if OP does not want stock. @Cowbell_Guy should mark this post as solved so far @acejavelin has hit the nail on the head for what the OP asked.
