Deep sleep battery percentage drop? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I currently have 6.0.1 installed on my XT1575. I've had previous versions of android such as 6.0 and different ports of 6.0.1. With all of these, when the phone is in deep sleep, I lose about 8-12% of battery life. Is this common for everyone? I've followed many guides to improve battery life that encompass using greenify, amplify, etc. I've currently got all those running to help with the battery. However, I still get this bad drainage of battery when I go to sleep. I've turned off all location options, wifi, wifi scanning, etc. When I check BBS, there are alarming wakelocks at all. The phone seems to be asleep, yet, it drains battery. Coming from an LG G2, I'm used to the phone only using 1-2% of battery while it is asleep.
What are you guys experiencing? And have you tried anything to improve this?

6.0.1 + franken with ghostpepper, no other tweaks and I basically lose nothing overnight.

Sleep/Standby Battery Drain

I have seen many posts about the poor battery life on the ADAM when in heavy/normal use. I have seen very bad battery drain just in standby/sleep on all the roms I have tested (Stock Newest build, edenx, and now CM7). SetCpu currently doesn't support profiles but I wonder if the processor still runs heavily even when in standby.
I should note that i usually turn off WIFI when not in use and also background data sync.
Pixel Qi Wifi.
As usual, after unplugging the device in the morning and not touching it for 8+ hours, it has about 50% battery left and battery history shows Phone Standby using all the battery. I guess these quirks will not be resolved until Honeycomb if ever.
Which do you mean "cell standby" or "phone idle"? I have the same model and the battery still drains more than expect overnight, but notas much as 50%. Did you apply a fix to remove cell standby?
Phone idle is what is reported. Here is a more specific example: on battery power for 10 hours today in standby with wifi off and background sync off and the battey is down to 55%. This is not a huge problem but I dont like to leave it on the charger constantly when not in use.
Kill the "phone Idle" <- that's really draining and if you don't use SIP on a WiFi only you can de-install phone and phoneprovider
2 other things you could try,
Install from the market:
"autokiller memory optimizer" and
"Juice defender"
They seem to help for me.
or use BEAST ROM 2.2. My ADAM batterie status is after 23 hours on 36%.

[Q] Battery Drain after unplugging

Hey there,
Recently after patching to 4.4.2 on Telus, I have found that my S4 has been draining quicker than usual. I tend to only get 10 hrs charge on it now, but the odd thing is that occasionally when I unplug it, it will go from 100% to 77-75%. I'm not quite sure what the cause is, but I'm guessing it is battery wear due to heavy usage? I am just curious if this is the case before I consider getting a new battery for my phone.
Any help that you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
There are countless threads on battery. Start with the obvious, open battery settings and see what's draining your battery. Restart/pull the battery.
Are you rooted? Get wakelock detector from play store. Figure out if you have any apps that cause wakelocks and then fix it. Or if you're getting poor signal in your area, that can lead to battery drain.
Try apps like deep sleep battery saver if you have wake locks. Or use tasker to control your radio if you get bad signal in certain areas.

Mostly says screen and kernal, been using Lux to try and keep the screen brightness down, but it has been draining faster than usual. Have tried restarting/pulling the battery but to no avail.
Not rooted, and have been keeping an eye on signal, but the drain occurred even when at home with full bars.

[Q] S5 fast battery drain with wifi on

All of a sudden, my S5 has started experiencing quick battery drain when wifi is turned on. If I turn wifi off, I get very good battery life.
Any advice?
Same here. Suddenly started on android 5 with custom rom.
Till now I have reset/factory reset, try another rom, try back to stock but still not working.
When I turn wifi on an there is a huge drain. I'm talking about 100-0 in just 13h without usage.
If just mobile network is turned on everything is allright and there are three days battery life.
I have watched with battery doctor etc for some reasen but there is no awake or something.
In battery usage there are missing 80% of used battery just don't listed.
Sounds for me like it's an hardware issue?
Thanks for any help
Sorry for bad english

Need advice about battery drain

Hey everyone, I purchased the 6P a week ago and I really don't understand the battery in this thing.... I'm coming from LG G3 which never faced battery drain during stand by. I am not even using the 6P (still haven't migrated from the G3) because of the unreasonable battery drain during sleep, I have WiFi always on and (no I don't accept to turn it to Never during sleep) I never did this with any phone anyway, my G3 doesn't lose more than 1-2% during the whole night (7 hours).
Please take a look and tell me if this makes any sense because I'm thinking of returning the thing if it's not just a software issue:

Battery life is really hit or miss, many lose 0-3% during the night while others like yourself lose a ton. Try changing your WiFi to either 2.4GHz only or 5GHz only, as some found that helps out. Custom kernels can also control WiFi wakelocks, and I've found running Franco kernel does a great job at helping standby life.
How's the signal strength from within your home? Having a weak cell signal can assist in battery drain. However that's some serious drainage. I'm thinking you have one or more wakelocks preventing the phone to deep sleep. If you're rooted, greenify is a must. It has boosted my battery life by a ton. I would also try to get some more battery stats applications. Better battery stats was/is my favorite app but I'm not sure its working on MM

Although it is not convenient to switch between the 2 bands ( Work is on 2.4GHz and Home is on 5GHz) but I will try it to see if it helps any.
Do you think this will be fixed with software update? and is it because Android M or because 6P on Android M?

Signal strength is fine at my home ( never faced an issue with G3).
I haven't installed anything that can hog battery like that, I only set-up Email, Hangouts to Sync, I never used Greenify or any battery saving apps ( The battery should last as advertised with it's standard capacity), i'm not asking for a magical battery life, just what's expected of a 3450 mAh.
I'll post Sambatterystats results shortly.
See if WiFi scanning is turned off
Many say the battery drain issue really spiked with the update to Android 6.01. So it appears to be SW related, and not HW, FWIW.
I found my fix is as Geoff53 said above, install a custom kernel (Kylo in my case). And I use Greenify on top of it. Great battery life now.

I hope it's just the 6.0.1 .. because I really would hate to return it..
Well, I'd go as far as flashing a custom ROM if that would completely solve the problem, not just the Kernel.
I initially had bad batter drain, not now. Unplug 6:30 am and 10pm still have 45%. Use to be dead by 7pm. I found the culprits were bad apps that I thought were OK. Ebay, Amazon, Facebook, ESPN, Waze.... when I deleted these and a few more, then rebooted all was good. Haven't tried putting them back though. I leave GPS, WIFI, blue tooth... all on. Even have 3 mail apps all set to "push." I don't twitter though.
Make a back up with Titanium or MyBackup, factory wipe and reset and see if your battery improves with only basic apps and mail. Bet it's bad apps. If improves slowly add apps until you find the culprit.

In my opinion, the " Bad App" theory is getting a bit out of hand. I installed the same apps as on my G3 (never had a bad app on it) , and 6P has been factory reset and insatlled nothing at all, only logged into gmail and hangouts, and I tried with the (WiFi during sleep set to never ) then the drain is not as bad anymore but I lost realtime push notifications which is unacceptable.
Now if believe there are so many "bad apps" then we can have the Doze which is supposed to minimize app drain if not terminate it, but that's not the case here obviously, so I think it's actually specific WiFi bug on Android M and not bad apps.

did u somehow manage to decrease standby drain?

Recommendation for battery friendly ROM

Hi all,
I purchased my X720 a couple of weeks ago and am still not settled with a ROM which I'd say I am satisfied with battery performance.
Tried LineageOS and it drew more than 5% idle during my sleep ~7 hours. Then I tried Validus and basically the battery drained after a day with minimum use. In both case I only installed 1 or 2 apps other than the gapps. Maybe I didn't get everything right. I am even considering going back to stock or a debloated version of stock.
I just want to check if anyone can recommend any ROM that draws less then 1% each 2 hours idle (not on flight mode). I don't mind whether it's MM or N as long as the google framework works.
Thanks in advance.
B
Best I've gotten without heavily tweaking and underclocking is 0.6 hr. With some work I got it down to 0.3. still working to improve it. This is on Turbo's Miui Rom v 10A. I got 2 days 18 hrs until it hit 5% battery left. That was with 3hrs 42mins SOT. The Rom has a few issues with setting not sticking on reboot. My watch crashes the rom (Android Wear). Finally the lock screen doesnt work with smartlock. Sure is pretty though.
Another option would be a stock based rom that's debloated.
Any of the nougat roms seem to have relatively high drain like 1.0 / hr was the best I have seen.
Stock still has the best battery life out of all the ROMs available. If you install an app that forces deep doze then you should be able to get much lower idle usage. However, you'll lose a lot of notifications. That's the trade-off...
One that I've used before going back to stock was Naptime: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.doze
I guess greenify also has that functionality, but it seemed buggy to me (but it is probably more stable now).
Omni drains 0-2% overnight for me. However, if you're in poor coverage (orange/red) you'll lose more battery regardless. I keep my phone on 2G overnight and data is automatically turned off by force doze.
Also remember that apps can prevent the device from entering deep sleep, so a rogue app could be the cause of your drain. Facebook, Snapchat, etc. Those are battery hogs.
