Accidentally installed a XT1575 stock on my XT1572 - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I have bricked my brazillian MotoX Style trying to install a wrong root.
Well, after that I accidentally installed a XT1575 rom on my dual sim brazillian XT1572 and the wifi and the sims are not working.
Now I cant install a stock xt1572 rom, i tried manualy and tried with the rsd lite. I have error with something called GPT. And after 12 hours trying to fix it, I dont know what I do now. Sorry for bad english. I hope you can undertand and help me...
Thanks.

Did you flash twrp recovery and made a backup before trying to root? if not try to flash your stock system.img and boot.img by "fastboot flash system system.img" and "fastboot flash boot boot.img" you must have your bootloader unlocked to do this.
Follow the instructions on this post here you need to download this file

GPT is the partition. It doesn't downgrade. Just ignore it and flash the other files. If those fail then you have a problem.

Moto X Play ROM problem

Hello everyone!
So i installed the CM12 rom for Moto X Play xt1562 version. Everything went fine until i did a factory reset. I first had a bootloop and could go inside the rom again. Then i did a factory reset and now i cant get pass TWRP..
I have been searching on the forum for clues why and how to solve my problem but cannot find anything.
Just to describe what message i get is :
" failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at/system: No such file or directory."
I have the "stock" rom aswell but the same message appear when i do this
I'm very happy if someone have the answare to my million dollar question!
Thanks in advance!
I'm confused. You flashed cm12, then it booted fine. You went back into twrp and did a factory reset? At this point you couldn't boot anymore. You then tried to flash your stock ROM with twrp?
I know there may be a language barrier, but I'm having trouble following. Are you trying to go back to stock to sell?

Had a hard time explaining this problem.
I worked it out and got it fixed by installing the newest version of TWRP but when i'm trying to install the latest "stock" version of Moto X (found in this forum, EU-Version) it just fails. So i have to install CM12 and dont have ny choice.
Thanks for the answare dictionary!
Off topic, is it possible to install another camera then stock Cm12?

You can't install the stock ROM by recovery. You have to extract the contents of the zip and use fastboot from your computer to flash. Glad you're at least up and running though.
Yes you can install Alternate cameras.

Just how are you trying to flash it? Are you unzipping the zip, and flashing each step individually, like posted in the linked thread?
Flash stock recovery I imagine it's checking the signature and failing when it sees twrp.
Oh and I've installed moto camera app and gallery they work great. Available as a flashable zip in the camera thread I posted. A user shared the link.

I flashed stock while I didn't flash the stock recovery over my twrp. Granted, on reboot I had the android lying down, but it flashed no problem. Just went and flashed twrp again and all was well.

Latest OTA update - Help needed

Hi all,
I have a bit of an issue with the latest OTA update currently being pushed out and looking for help how best to proceed.
I have unlocked and rooted the phone previously and recovery is TWRP. My phone is encrypted.
When I accepted the updated the phone rebooted and showed the TWRP splash screen which flashes on and off endlessly. If I turn the phone off and on again it restarts fine but after a few seconds the update process starts again. I am currently stuck in this loop.
Any advice as to how I can get out of this without wiping my phone?
I am wondering if I could flash the standard recovery to remove TWRP if this would work. Could it and if so, where can i get the standard recovery image.
Thanks and sorry of this is already covered, I searched but couldn't find it.
For XT1575.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833
If you want to update be on stock rom i.e. unrooted and no xposed, nothing added or removed from system and also flash stock recovery.
After successful update flash twrp.
So, if I want to install the lastest update it's enough to unroot, remove xposed and flash stock recovery? Or it's better to flash full stock through fastboot?
So I managed to find a link to the full image for my device (XT1572 so the above link wouldn't work to the best of my knowledge - but thanks anyway @Hitti2)
I flashed the standard recovery and rebooted which stopped the endless loop. The update still fails to install but I can live with that for now.
I'll investigate further what I need to do to get the update to take properly but for now I have a functioning phone which is a good start to the day.
Thanks all.

Final installment. Update installed and a good. For anyone who stumbles across this with a similar issue, here is what I had to do.
Flash stock boot and recovery images to remove root and TWRP.
Reboot and let the update install.
Reflashed TWRP and SuperSU (both of which are now newer versions)
Job done. Now I know for the next update [emoji6]
There is a whole thread dedicated to this update in general.

Maybe there is but as I stated in the OP, I couldn't find the right information at the time of posting. Maybe helpful would be to also link the thread as it may help others.
@lafester could you link thread please.

Thanks for this info. I'm definitely still unable to install this update. I am stock, unrooted. I have flashed the stock recovery image, but not the boot image. Can you please point me to where i can find the stock boot image?

@evandena not that one. That is for a different model, I needed the firmware for the XT1572.
@chuck-fu I found a post here on XDA with a list of download links for various versions. I will dig out the link shortly and post it when I have access to my PC.
I extracted but the recovery and boot image files from that package. What you need are the images as close to possible from what is currently installed on your phone.
Edit: Here is the link to the thread with many Moto X Style images... Hopefully this will help
[Firmware] Moto X Style/Pure Stock Software
Thanks so much for trying to help. I went ahead and flashed the boot and recovery files for my model. I did the Boot image first, no luck. then i did the recovery, and this time andy thought a bit longer before giving me the Error! message. And then instead of my phone doing an autoreboot, it was stuck on the dead Andy and I needed to do hold down the power button to get it to shut down.
Anyone have any additional thoughts?

I was having same issue. I am stock, rooted, unlocked bootloader.
Currently using TWRP 3.0
In order to update with the new OTA you need to find a download of the .zip files and manually install it.
If you try to do OTA update it will just keep getting stuck in recovery. To get out of this just cache wipe and reboot.
This phone has never been able to take OTAs for some reason. I wish I understood why. I tried to leave the thing stock to keep things simple, but it wasn't to be... anyway...
Thanks for the advice. Any idea where to get a download of the .zip files (is it really more than one zip file, or was that a typo)? I tried searching, but can't seem to find the right things to search for.
Also, once i have the zip file(s):
1) Do I just install it via TWRP like any other zip file?
2) to get rid of the OTA prompt, do i wipe the cache and reboot before or after i install the update via the zip?
Many thanks!

I managed to update via OTA flashing the stock recovery, boot and system chunks. This is the procedure I do to update my wife's Nexus 5 and worked for the Moto X Style too. Remember to make a backup before in case something goes wrong.
Thanks for the info- what version do you have? I have the 1575 RETUS and can't find the system file. Is that basically flashing an entire ROM? Sorry, but i've flashed boot and recovery files before, as well as full ROMs but don't ever remember flashing a system file on its own.
Thanks!

I have the 1572 RETEU, but you can find the stock firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833
If it's like the stock firmware that I have for the 1572 it should have all the img files and the system chunks. You just need to flash all the chunks like this:
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.6
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.7
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.8
This has to be done because Marshmallow doesn't allow any modification in the system or the boot image, and will not proceed with the OTA if the ROM is not full stock.
EDIT: You will not loose any data, but any modification to the system partition will be undone.

Thanks for your help once again. I manually flashed the system files like you listed, but for whatever reason, i'm still getting the same old Error. I'm pretty sure I'm on a stock ROM.
From this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833
I have flashed the XT1575 6.0 boot.img, recovery.img, then from the firmware, extracted the 8 sparsechunk files and flashed those as well. I still get the ERROR after a few seconds of trying to load the OTA.
Any other ideas by any chance? Did you do any kind of wiping in there somewhere? Did you just let the normal OTA try installing from within Android?

I just let the normal OTA install after flashing system, boot and recovery, without wiping any partition. Maybe you can try a flash all the zip to make sure it's full stock and see if the OTA install. Just make a backup before in case nothing change.

My XT1572 is bricked; i even get bootloops in recovery and factory mode

first, i unlocked the bootloader and it was perfectly fine.
then i flashed the latest TWRP version
now, when i flashed supersu, i got bootloops.
i tried to to install the older TWRP version (2.8.7.1) but nothing improved so i reverted back to the latest version. Now even my recovery is borken.
I REALLY hope someone will help me fix my problem.
EDIT: I also tried to install the 2.62 version of SuperSu because the 2.46 didn't work.
anyone, please?

Can you boot into Bootloader? You might have to reflash back to complete stock before you can do anything again using adb/fastboot commands. Have a look at my posts in this thread:
SOLVED: Flashed TruPureXMM rom in Indian dualsim XT1572 and now No sim detection
Most of my posts are on the second page but should help guide you to get back to stock without relocking the bootloader. Once you are back to stock and can confirm the phone is working, you can start your modding again. I can only assume your phone has a software issue. Unfortunately, this is the only solution I can think of and can't really suggest anything else. You will lose all your internal storage data using this method unless you have made a backup. I would normally do this using recovery but seeing as you can't boot normally or into that, I don't see a way for you to do that, unless you try pulling files through adb though this will probably be a long and slow process.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Ooms
Is it bricked or bootlooping? Those are 2 very different things. If its bootlooping then its not bricked. If its bricked then you can't do anything with it.
Nevermind guys, i've fixed it by flashing stock firmware through fastboot, just like dj_ooms said. Thanks for the help anyways. And also razieltov, i was getting bootloops. Sorry for not knowing the difference between the two

Flash with RSDLite 6.2.4
If you want to erase user data choose flashfile.xml else choose servicefile.xml
The only way to repair is to flash factory image.

Hi topongo,
You didn't explain much, so sorry for the obvious question. Is your bootloader (still) unlocked?
"fastboot oem unlock <YOUR PASSCODE>"
Maybe you could also try to relock and then unlock again... Did you try?

Yes, I already tried it...
And I don't know why but I can't receive the system update from huawei, actually I'm still at b138 version
I'm on LX2J and I once unlocked before, but didn't root or anything else. After receiving an update, it got locked again.
Not sure what the conditions for updating are, but maybe you can't receive updates when you have a custom recovery installed or something like that.
EDIT: I found my original stock rom with the firmwarefinder, but I came to know that you need the original recovery in order to use update.app. I tried flashing the recoveries extracted from the update.app, but it still fails. That's why I think that the issue might be connected.
Thank you very much, so no idea for problem with flash?
Recently I've installed an update and my bootloader has relocked, so I thought that probably the stock recovery was reinstalled (or reconfigured) then without any problem I was able to reflash twrp.
