Hi,
I installed many apps for call recording but not working in Moto G4 Plus. I searched on internet but the only solution is to root the phone. Can any one has solution which does not require root?

I did not get 2way recording to work (without root). It only recorded my voice
Moto G4 / Moto G4 Plus Android 6.x
- in some countries the call recording feature is available, all recorders in the market work well, no root needed.
- in some countries the call recording feature is disabled by Motorola, all recorders in the market can only record your voice, the caller's voice is very weak in recordings. In this case you should root the phone, then several recorders can fix the problem.
Moto G4 / Moto G4 Plus Android 7.x
The call recording feature is still disabled by Motorola but not so strict, several recorders can bypass the limit without root, so no root needed.

UPDATE
======
Previously I said "several recorders can bypass the limit without root", now I realized this is not right (sorry for that). From users' feedbacks, the fact is:
- in very few countries, several recorders can bypass the limit without root.
- in most countries, both Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, both Android 6.0 and 7.0 need root, otherwise you can only record your own voice, the caller's voice is weak in recordings, no matter what recorder in the market you are using.

Yes, it records calls in two sides, no root needed.
If "no calls saved" in your phone, please see the [001] and [[002] parts for the reasons and the solutions in this page http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder_troubleshooting.html

I am using Android 7.0 Moto G4 Plus (XT1644) non root and cannot get Boldbeast to record my voice or the caller's voice. It saves the call, but no sound plays back. I've tried using a couple record modes (several fail, 1 and 5 save with no playback sound) with autotune off and tune audio route set to group3. Anyone else have any luck?

Yes, you are right.
I have just updated the information in the post #9 in this topic. Thanks.
Cool bro
I have tried many call recorders but out of all, the only call recorder worked for me (which records both in and outgoing voices) is the boldbeast call recorder. it requires root and should follow the instructions which were mentioned in the boldbeast forum. I think no call recorder in the playstore works for the moto g4 unless u root and install the boldbeast.

Hi Guys,
I had been looking for a working call recording solution for the Moto X for a long time. None of the recording apps worked for me - they either only recorded via the mic so you couldn't hear the other party, or they didn't work at all.
Finally, I tried the recently-updated Call Recorder by @skvalex , link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder
ROOT IS REQUIRED
This app works perfectly to record calls. I'm not sure when the update was made to be compatible with the Moto X, but it definitely works now. Both sides of the conversation are recorded with excellent quality. The app costs $9.95 but it well worth the cost, IMO. It has a very CLEAN and polished UI and it just works!
I like that the app gives you a non-intrusive record button located in the top right corner. It doesn't cover any of the dial-er buttons or obstruct caller-id. It works for both incoming and outgoing calls as well.
I'm using the Republic Wireless Moto X -- the only "flaw" that I have found (and it probably ONLY applies to the RW Moto X and not the other variants) is that automatic call recording does not work when a call is placed or received over WiFi. Not an issue for me though, as I prefer to not automatically record all calls (I have it set to manual record only), and only record the conversations that I want by simply tapping the record button. This works perfectly on both WiFi and Cell.
In addition, the call recorder continues to work flawlessly even when the call is handed over from WiFi to Cell (seamless WiFi to Cell handover is part of Republic Wireless's unique hybrid calling features).
I don't care for the "persistent notification", so I have used Gravity Box to hide the notification. Everything still works flawlessly even with the persistent notification hidden.
I'm very impressed with skvalex's work here! Additionally, he even offers a 2 week trial version that you can download here on XDA! Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643 < This way you can be absolutely sure the app will meet your needs before buying it.
This can come in handy for NUMEROUS reasons. I won't get into all of that - if you have a need to record calls, you have your own reasons.
And lastly, the disclaimer: CALL RECORDING IS ILLEGAL IN SOME JURISDICTIONS!!! Make absolutely sure this is legal for you to use. In my state, only one party is required to know that they are being recorded. Since I am the other "party" and I know I'm recording my calls, this makes it perfectly legal for me to use.
DEFINITELY check your local laws before you use this. If you record someone in a jurisdiction where it is illegal, you may find yourself in a great deal of legal trouble.
@skvalex : I hope you don't mind the promotion I'm giving you here. I tried every call recorder known to man and none of them worked for me. I was absolutely thrilled to find that yours works flawlessly with my Moto X. Thanks!!!!
EDIT 8/20/14:
I figured out how to get call recorder to work with TowelPieRoot Temp-root!
All you have to do is go into settings and change the recording path to /sdcard/voix
For some reason (on temp roots with no write access) you cannot use the default path of /storage/emulated/0/voix - it appears that this only works with /system write access for some reason....
Anyways, those of you with locked bootloaders on 4.4.2 or earlier (even with write-protection enabled) can now use Call Recorder in conjunction with TowelPieRoot!!
ENJOY!
Thanks for the info. I wish more options existed for recording phone calls on Android, whenever I mention it as something I'm looking for in a ROM people usually jump to the conclusion that it's for surreptiously recording conversations but it has plenty of legitimate uses, in journalism for example.
Installed the trial from the link in the description in the play store. You get it free for 2 weeks. I did a test call to my answering machine at work, and it worked flawlessly. Not sure when I'll actually use it outside of maybe calling Comcast to cancel my service soon.
Also talking to people that are very special to you and maybe you don't speak to them but very rarely and they pass away. You have they're voice to comfort the memories. As i lost my brother and best friend to suicide lately and there is not a app on Google play that i would have wanted more on my phone. Anyway thanks for the app @skvalex and thanks @samwathegreat for the thorough heads up as you always do for our community friend..

I have a XT1080M Droid Maxx 2013.
I'm assuming since my phone is basically the same as your Moto X then Call Recorder should work on mine as well unless:
1) Yours is rooted and you're using one of the root methods (Mine's stock).
2) Differing Android version (Mine's 4.4.4).
I'll give the trial version a go if yours is running similar to mine. If not, I'll wait to see what the future brings as far as unlocking my bootloader first! ?

I installed the trial version, chose the only option available which is "standard api" as recording method for unrooted moto x. audio source -microphone/DEFAULT. BUT ALL RECORDINGS ARE STRANGE! THE VOICES ARE DOUBLED!!! EXAMPLE- HELLO,HELLO..WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? like that..
I tried all varities but failed... its not working for a unrooted moto x! NO CALL RECORDER WORKS FOR unrooted MOTO X . MINE CAME WITH 4.4.4 SO TECHNICALLY i CANNOT ROOT AS WELL AS RECORD CALLS!!!!
Does anybody know of a solid working call recording app for Moto G4 plus? I am now on Automatic Call Recorder app from the PlayStore where I can only hear my voice being recorded.
Any other pointers would be really helpful. I am also not rooted, on stock.

I use ACR - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nll.acr

The incoming audio is a little on the softer side but still very audible
I paid for the licensed version as well.

1. The programmer communicates with you if you have a problem. I've written him over XDA a couple of times, and he has always helped me.
2. If the app does not support the mobile phone (new models on the market), just write to him and he looks at it right away.
3. Regular updates.
4. Many options for recording such as formats, filters etc.
5. When you start the app for the first time, the application will set itself the most suitable settings for that mobile.
6. You don't need to have root.
Look, I tried many apps, but Call Recorder is the first choice for me.

Most possibly, you enabled the OK Google app in your phone. OK Google is occupying the microphone, it is continuously picking up sound from the microphone to recognize your "voice command", and this blocks Boldbeast working. Please disable the "Settings > Google > Search > Voice > OK Google detection > From any screen" option in your phone, then it works at once.
About the "can not record any call" problem, actually there are 7 possible reasons, have a look at the [001] part in this page: http://www.boldbeast.com/android/call_recorder_troubleshooting.html
Test again, it 100% works.
Used to use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=en
It quit working on my Galaxy S8.
I tried using Boldbeast as some people stated here but it didn't even record. No recordings where found.
I am using ACR as also indicated on here and it seems to be working for the moment.
I am using the AT&T Galaxy S8. do I have the one that doesn't support call recording? I was reasding on other forums and people are saying some S8s are blocked from recording calls.

Samsung Android 7 or Samsung S7 Android 6?
The Android Oreo update has impacted recording on some Samsung S8 and 8+ and all S9's. I've been a paid user of ACR for a year now and it's awesome, but even they are scratching their heads about this b/c it's impacting everyone.
Native call recording is the best, and free. But need root.

Before I reverted back to Oreo, I tried this app. Along with the current state of ACR, the SKVALEX app also suffers from the exact same problem. It's not directly recording the other end, only using the phone's speaker to listen. So the voice on the other end is at a very low volume. Even when boosting the decibels in the app settings, it's not as clear and loud as when either apps were working whilst on Oreo. This also means that phone numbers still can't be recorded by either app. As stated by pop up messages inside both apps.
This may be fine for some but I don't think Pie and One UI is worth losing FIRM call recording capabilities. Along with other features we've come to rely on on Oreo.
Just my two cents on it.

Call recording in Android 9 (Samsung Galaxy S8)
No call recording app can record bothway voice calls on Android 9 unless the phone maker dialer provides inbuilt recording feature for a particular region. I have tried many on my Galaxy S8 but found no luck. Call recording is an important feature which is essential for millions. Google should open the relevant API so that the app makers can bring back call recording. BTW, Cube ACR couldn't do bothway call recording on my S8. The best call recorder was NLL's ACR for Android 8. It doesn't work for Android 9 though NLL published an unchained version. This unchained version also can't record bothway calls.

SKVALEX worked on my note 9 up to the last Android v8.1.0 Oreo release, once it hit Android v9.0 pie it stopped, all call recorders did. Android removed call recording capability with pie. Sux, I hope someone finds a workaround for it because it was really handy, didn't need to write crap down when getting info or directions from someone.
How do I revert my Samsung Note 8 back to Oreo to get back recording feature?
Any advice on workaround for this?

You'll have to purchase a Samsung phone with 8.x, so your options are the s/Note 8/9. Also, Magisk can hide root. It's held that functionality for a long time.

Is that a stock application? Can you set to automatically record all calls by default and then let's say delete everything older than 60 days or so?

It is a setting in the stock dialer. Attaching screenshots of how to get there and what all options you get.

Don't see the option for call recording available on my Exynos model. I've tried 3rd party call recording applications and all seem to capture from the microphone. Can anyone recommend an application that can record calls without the use of the microphone? On my old Sony Xperia Z3 which I have replaced with S10+ I used to use Call Recorder - SKVALEX that records perfectly clear audio of both side using API, however, the application requires root.
