Whenever I'm taking video, it constantly keeps refocussing, leaving me with a constantly blurring video.
I know that I could press the focus lock, but why does it keep doing this and how can I turn it off?

Is there any way to make the photo light flashes like a camera flash?
turning it on all the time while taking a photo is very annoying.

Flashlightapp does the trick
it's a widget.
Another app is XPERIA Flashlight: it's an app with timed light-on presets (including unlimited), as well as a widget to turn the LED on and off.
Thanks for the reply,
But those apps is turning the LED light on, not using it like a camera flash.
Maybe I am asking too much.
its not a true flash so i don't think we will ever see real camera flash.

Click to collapse
No. That only works in 2.0/2.1. That's why you have to turn it on and off. Hopefully we'll get a "real" camera flash in 2.1.
As of today. my video light comes on regardless of whether i enable or disable in menu. anybody else having this issue
Yup, me too. Never noticed that before!

Just checked mine, and it doesn't do that...
This might sound dumb, but when you uncheck the photo light, you have to exit out of the settings menu for the light to turn off.
Its always on during video. Search around there was another topic just like this.

mine isn't on...unless i turn it on
So I keep automatic brightness on but I think my play may have a problem. I turn the backlight off and sometimes my plays screen flickers brightness- like it's automatically changing the brightness but it's going back and forth rapidly. I don't know if it is a fault or just that I'm not keeping the phone steady enough. Any assistance?

Turn automatic brightness off temporarily and see if it still does it?
If your blocking the front camera then it will do that. That's how it uses the auto brightness.
Thanks guys. Will see

hi,noticed today on only 30-50 percent brightness if i go to messaging app and then press back if you watch carefully the brightness lowered/display flickers for half second like its on autobrightness or something only on 30-50. software issue? or bad unit?as the time passes this problem gonna be worse?return it?
another thing if you put a finger on front camera and then press power button its turn display on and off by itself.
is it all software issues or its my unit?i have the phone for month.stock unrooted.no complains here.

Yes Keep it on 60% auto.
It's a feature the phone turn the screen off automatically if you hit the power by mistake while the phone in your pocket, that's why if you hide the sensor and turn the phone on,directly it will switch off the screen.
but its not not on auto why its kind flickers in this percent?software issue?

So I just noticed that when I have flash set to auto, the screen blinks twice when I take a picture. Not sure if the picture is taken on the first or second blink but does anyone else see this?
Setting the flash to off or on removes the second blink.
Also when recording video, there's always a stutter at the beginning of the recorded video. It's like it skipped recording for a fraction of a second.
Have anyone seen this? I'm trying to figure out if it's a defective unit.
I have the updated software (with green battery indicator)
Thanks
I just tried the video, 3 times recording 15-30 seconds and no stutters experienced. Took a couple photos in a dark room and no blinks on the screen. I have the "safe" AT&T Note 7.
