Sure, you can update to Marshmallow v6.0 using Odin3.
You don't need a sim card to Odin flash firmware.
You need to go to http://sammobile.com and download
the official samsung S6 Edge firmware for your phone's
specific model and flash it using odin3.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

You must wait for others suggestions but I think you can root and flash via g928f method and firmware. Your model is 928X?

[Q] Updating i9505 with firmware XXUDMH8

I tried to update the phone OTA but it says that its already updated to its latest version and i tried it on kies and it says that my device is not supported to update via kies. Im running my phone with android 4.2.2 jelly bean. I want to upgrade to kitkat because my phone drains battery faster based on my observations with my cousins phone, we also tried to change batteries just to make sure.
Is there a way to update this phone? I am willing to root this phone if thats what it takes.
Thanks
Please post the following information:
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider
5. Country
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
1. GT-i9505
2. Version 4.2.2
3.Firmware Version
AP: I9505XXUDMH8
CP:I9505XXUDMH8
CSC:I9505XXDMHA
4.Globe
5.Philippines
6.No
7.No
From appearances the ROM that was installed was for a carrier unlocked unit. If the S4 is still tied to Globe that would explain why Kies didn't work. The correct version for you, based on the information given, is here. Flash it using Odin.
After that i can update the phone? Can i use Odin v.3.10.6? Thanks sir
By the way can i use different version like the international version?
1, That's the current ROM. If Samsung pushes an OTA update you should get it without any trouble.
2, Odin 3.10.6 is fine.
3. If your phone is carrier unlocked you can install any ROM you wish. However, you wouldn't get any OTA updates and Kies would report that the ROM and the device don't match. If your phone is not unlocked, it's not recommended to flash other ROMs and to stick with the ROM for your device.
How can i determine if its carrier unlocked? My phone can use other service providers here in the philippines, does that mean that it is carrier unlocked? Thanks sir
If you insert a SIM from another provider and can get service on the S4 then the phone is carrier unlocked.
If downloaded the version that you shared can i still use different sim card? If not can you send the link of the version that can be used by different carrier just to make sure? Thanks sir
Yes. Once you're unlocked, the ROM you install doesn't matter too much. Any SIM card should work in the S4.
1. Which version saves battery better the version 4.4.2 or 5.01? Because im just after the battery performance sir.
2. Can my firmware version be the reason why my phone sometimes cant detect my sim card and will be needing to restart my phone. Sometimes even i restart my phone my phone cant still detect my sim card so i need to restart it again. Is it a hardware or a software issue?
3.If im not satisfied with the battery performance of lolipop can i just repeat the steps you gave but instead use the 4.4.2 version provided by globe at the same site you gave?
Thanks sir

[Q]Kies on A300H

What happens if I try to reinstall the phone firmware through Kies On Tools tab using the number S / N ?, it will return to KitKat from lollipop without any problems?
Is it rooted? Custom Rom?

If you mean the restore firmware function in which you enter your serial no then kies/smart switch will restore the latest firmware for the model and carrier the phone is registered with.
There is a varying amount of A3/5/7 owners that have had issues when downgrading back to KitKat from Lollipop so research and then make your choice.

No worries. yeah, if you use the restore function where you enter the serial no then kies will install the original firmware or the correct lollipop firmware for your device.
i think the firmware should work ok on either single sim or dual sim models. do you have full use of the device?

I have an A300FU model and i have downgraded to kitkat without issues but like i mentioned in a previous post that some A3 owners have had issues with bricking their device. It is entirely your choice but wipe data first if you do decide to go ahead. I went back to Lollipop in the end to be honest.

That is what i'm trying to say as all devices are different so could result in a brick or not. I was lucky and did not brick my device but i could if i reverted back to KitKat again. There is always a risk when flashing so the choice is only yours to make.

Downgrade Lenovo A7000 from Marshmallow to Lollipop - Possible

Hi everyone,
I was fed up with marshmallow and had wanted to downgrade to Lollipop 5.0 searched the internet but found no supporting evidence of anyone successfully downgrading. Even people updated stating the official status is that you CANNOT downgrade.
I today took the risk and tried to downgrade to Lollipop S136 version using SP flash method (download only).
I confirm that the downgrade was successful and now my phone is on Lollipop S136 version. Just thought of sharing to all who desperately wanted to downgrade. Hit thanks if you find it helpful
SP Flash tool procedure : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a7000/development/flashing-stock-rom-via-sp-flash-t3364235
Rooting can be done with Kingroot latest apk
I have A7000 on Lollipop. Is it not worth upgrading to Marshmallow?

Hi! I succesfully downgraded my phone to android 5.0 lollipop. Everything works fine except my sd card -it says my sd is corrupted but that's not true because on android 6.0 marshmallow that sd worked. I also tried different sd card but nothing changed. I even tried to format sd card but it still doesn't work. Is there some way how to fix it ?

There never was one. Only 6.0.1
Then I guess I'm not getting past this FRP. The phone wont recognise the OTG cable or show up on SideSync.
Does anyone have this or other SM-J700P stock rom for Boost that has Knox enabled? I have tried a couple of custom ROM's and they all fail and am wondering if it has to do with Knox.

Downgrade S7 Edge to Marshmallow

Hi, I know this isn't the right forum but I can't publish in another one.
I have a SM-G935F (Exynos), and I don't like Nougat's battery life. So I wanna downgrade to marshmallow. But when I was looking how do that sometimes I had read I need to delete all Google accounts, restore the device, turn off the device, and then do wipe data/factory reset and wipe data cache and turn off again the device, to finally go to the download mode. But I too had read I only turn off the device and put the download mode.
Do I have to do all those things or do the second one?
I don't want to brick my phone.
Downgrading to a previous version might corrupt your IMEI stopping your phone from making and receiving calls, I've learned that the hard way..So better do a thorough research before taking any action.
I too don't like Nougat which makes me go back again and again to a Marshmallow build. I haven't experienced any problem going back to MM from Nougat. I just have to factory reset every time to boot up normally after flashing the MM Rom via Odin. I currently have this build on my phone with Xposed:
i have downgraded my grand 2, s7 edge W8 model multiple times. all i do is shut off the phone put it in download mode, open odin select proper files n then simply flash. note i never changed any odin settings just simply choose the right files.
i have done this with both stock n custom rom installed. never had any issues
also y not try a custom 7.0 rom. batman rom is quite good, well so is ambasadii one. haven't tried any other rom so can't say anything about others.
I Also prefer MM to N by far in terms of battery life. Never had any issues downgrading to MM from N using Odin, no special things to do other than going into download mode and flashing the MM firmware.
Only reason i had to go back to Nougat is that the carrier will cut LTE for MM starting from today (due to signal improvement processes that are not compatible with 6.0.1).
I may consider Flashing back MM and keeping the Modem from Nougat if that works.
I downgraded to Marshmallow and athough it does't seems, the battery life is a lot better in 6.0.1.
I do not like the old Emojis, but i can handle it
Howhever, the performance increases too. I'm so happy with Marshmallow.

I have SM-G930A, I think with a locked bootloader.
Currently I'm on Marshmallow and when I try to update using system update it says your device is up to date. So If I flash Nougat using Odin will I be able to downgrade back to Marshmallow If I don't like Nougat ?
Thanks
