There is no best just flash them and see what one you like
Franco has been really solid for me

All are very good tasting, but depends on your favourite flavor! Enjoy flashing them....
Try em , the only way youll know , best is an unreal term for the masses

I'd recommend either Elementalx or Franco. Elementalx is better for customizing advanced settings and franco is better for a simple user. Both have amazing reputations in both speed and battery life. Currently I'm using ElementalX on PureNexus rom with advanced interactive governor tweaks and it's the best battery life I've seen so far

I prefer balanced battery and peformance. Please advice. Thanks
All kernels work differently for different people. Try a bunch and see what works.

Franco kernel lets you overclock the gpu to what ever you want (416-750 and anything in between) so with that in mind you can create your own balance of battery vs performnce.
You cant overclock cpu but honestly it isnt needed.
Also with his latest release r25 th whol devive is much more responsive. Touchscreen etc.

I'm on stock. I can't deal with sods. It's fast and battery life is good.

try out a bunch, find the one that your phone likes the best. they all react differently to different kernels. personally, i prefer trinity kernel.

Hi,
This one:
EDIT: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+compile+the+best+kernel+for+battery+life?
:cyclops::fingers-crossed::victory::silly::silly: :silly::laugh::laugh::laugh:
And yes I'm happy with this
Just try them all out. Different people will give you different answers as to which kernel will give you the best battery life. Why? Because battery life is subjective. Everyone do different things with their phones. If you're a heavy gamer, your battery life will not be so great. But if you're a person who only browses the web, read articles, text and make calls. Then you'll have a long battery life.
on stock rom. can change the kernel ?
Not using any kernel will give you the best battery life.
Yea don't use any kernel at all, just the ROM. Heck, just don't use your phone, that'll give you great battery life lol.

I know with the SGS3 some of the bigger kernels were ktoonsez and lean kernel. What's good for the Nexus 4?

I've been using Matr1x kernel for quite some time now. It's the best I've used. I've tried Faux and Franco and those didn't work too well for me. Try them all out though and see what works best for you.

Franco's latest kernels have been very battery friendly. They're amazing. You do kinda sacrifice (albeit super tiny) performance though.
If you care about performance more, try Motley's. His kernels are reasonably battery friendly, but doesn't sacrifice any performance.
Trinity and Matr1x are my preferred kernels due to their speed and overall stability.
Battery go for Franco.
Hmm. I think I'm gonna try out Franco. I'm on the go a lot and battery life is a bit more important to me than performance. I wish the nexus 4 was more than a 2100 battery...

Yes to be honest Franco's kernel is the only kernel I'm confident with when I go out LOL
must say though the hunt for kernels has been remedied by google, for me at least. their 4.2.2 is insane. im getting 21.800 in antutu without touching the clocking frequencies. im getting 1-2 days of use and still 4-5 hours screen on. its reliable, it wont crash or screw up otherwise and best of all i dont worry about it, at all, its enough for me to settle and think of kernels no more. only thing that really bugged me on this plattform were the colors. but thats solved now. if you wanna try: http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/mako/ start with contrasty and see if you can live with the brightness, that one has probably the nicest colors that can be possible with this panel.
Hi guys. Do you know which is the best kernel for 4.2.2 for the battery management? Now I use jelly shot with marmite 8.5 bigmem

You are probably using the best kernel for battery management... If you want to save some more battery, then follow some or all of these steps...
Change governor to smartassV2 and I/O to row
Go to developer tools and make max background running processes to 3 or 4
You can also overclock your system to 800Mhz max for saving battery
Use Greenify app from Play Store and hibernate all your apps, so they don't run in background
Jellyshot v4 was a real battery saver for me... Had been given around 5hr+ screen time in a single charge...
However, I switched to Carbon because it had more features, but obviously, a bit less battery life...
Try these steps for sure and I'm definite that you'll save huge hours of battery fr sure
I'll try. Thanks a million for your help!!!

I Say go for gamerzrom with stock kernel it has pretty good battery life and a lot better performance .. Carbon is also good but I have too many random reboots with it becoz its Still in nightly mode not a stable version and even for a nightly its pretty good .. And jellyshot is the king of all the roms with marmite 8.5 bigmem is amazing these are my suggestions best of luck !

`Best off`posts not allowed. I use Franco kernel myself and undervolted -100mV for cooler cpu and all is running great. Best thing to do is try out some kernels for yourself.

Try a few, see which is best for you. I use Faux123's kernel and his great set of apps that work with it.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
Thank you all
I will try both Faux123 and franco and see which one works out better for me
