I did the process to downgrade to 4.2.2 erasing lines gbt.bin and motoboot.img (after flash 4.4.2 Germany and do IMEI 0).
After that, I received the update OTA and accepted. In that it was installing the update when the screen went out and never come back.
I tried to access the fastboot several times and nothing, also let on wall charger for hours and nothing.
Is there anything I can do?

"hardbrick" isn't a word, I'm not sure why people think it is.
You may have, in fact, hard bricked your phone - two words. Hard is a modifier on bricked.
Anyway, one thing you can try is to hold the power button down for 30 seconds to make sure it's off, then boot it into fastboot, and connect it to the computer to see if fastboot itself will recognize your phone, even though nothing is appearing on your screen.

definitely "brickedhard." the only way that people have brickedhard their phone is by erase the gpt.bin in the xml file then accepting an ota that i have seen.
You can't accept an OTA after downgrading from 4.4.2 unless the OTA has the same bootloader.
In other terms, you can only downgrade to the latest firwmware for your device.
Need a $100 off coupon?
The phone is dead, as soon as you removed those two lines from the xml and flashed it you sealed its fate.
I don't understand how people are bricking their phones... I thought the only line you were supposed to remove was this one : <step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />
why are people deleting lines in gpt.bin and motoboot.img?

They do it because the phone won't downgrade firmware to whatever version they want to run otherwise. However doing it is a death sentence for the phone in the future if they take another update.
Firmware for all phone versions isn't available for download so some people have tried to use something "close" but it can be a real mistake. If your phones original firmware isn't available for download don't mess with the phone. Also the firmware can only be from one rev back it seems. So if you try out 4.4.2 and then want to flash back to your original firmware it can only be done if you can get a proper 4.4 file.
That's exactly the same thing happened to me a time ago.
Did the same steps, and my phone was hard bricked. Read my history here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548867
You have no way back to revive your phone, so, get the $100 off coupon, you need a replacement.

Hi, I am not happy with the latest update (V1.15.40.639) and would like to downgrade to the previous one (V1.13.40.496). I read on zentalk forum that we can downgrade by downloading the latter firmware from asus site(http://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-2-Laser-ZE550KL/HelpDesk_Download/) and place it on SD card root. The reboot to the recovery and select something like "apply update from external". Can someone confirm if this will work? Is there an easy enough and confirmed way to downgrade the firmware. Any help will be much appreciated.
Edit: The method works!
Haven't done that but it should work, if you face any app crashes you will need to reset phone
Pls don't downgrade it will kill ur phone

Have you tried it? If it goes dead, do you think Asus service center will be able to revive it?
No but have heard that software cannot be downgraded in any phone

He is wrong xD
Like I said the you'd face app crashes which you can fix by resetting phone.
If you are not comfortable to do this then simply go to service center and tell them you want certain update flashed for whatever reason.

Did you actually go into recovery and flash the previous firmware or just let the phone detect the firmware and install it by itself?

I placed the update on sd card. Booted to recovery. cleared data and cache and applied the update via SD Card method. The cleared cache once more and rebooted.Voila!
This method is going to wipe all user data???
Probably a reboot would do the same result.
I have, like many others, the latest firmware and I didn't encounter no problems. So definitely is not the firmware itself.

LOL. That's one question I never ask. It's always a good idea to do a backup before any update, especially if it's a full firmware flash and not an OTA update.
No. I only wiped cache and it seems to have kept the data intact at the time. I had a backup for safety's sake but I did not need to restore it.
Can We root the phone after downgrading it to lollipop using Kingroot?

“Failed gpt.bin” something doesn't help us, or you.
Tell us the exact errors shown. We'll be then able to help you out to the best of our ability.
From my knowledge, you cannot flash a gpt partition file of an older ROM. You should, as Blackbeats mentioned, flash only the modem partition from the correct ROM for your device.
@jayeshaupe90
I think your phone became G4 (not plus !! )...
This happened because of flashing wrong firmware.. and this has no solution till now...
Check this [ https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/moto-g4-pluss-model-changed-to-g4-lost-t3496912 ]
If this happened (your phone became G4) then we cannot do anything to help you, otherwise correct me...
PS. Anyhow someone found solution for network.. read on second page of that thread..

if jtag is what i understand it to be is handing it over to Moto-the-BI*** repair shop, he can't.
his bootloader is unlocked so they are basically going to replace the board which is 80% of phone price.

Im not looking to root though and i dont even want to use any custom rom or any of that. When i flash metropcs successfully, i just want it to stick when the phone boots, instead of Sprint firmware magically re appearing. If its a successful flash with official firmware, then why wont the Sprint firmware go away / be overwritten, especially when it is a successful flash. Maybe i am wrong, but from what i remember, even when bootloader is locked, you are still allowed to flash official firmware, or am i wrong?
