We will have to edit the nvram value, i think. I don't know android at this high level yet, but the one thing i know is that in the field of developing there are endless posibilities, so i am pretty much sure it would be unlocked in the future, maybe 6 or so months.

Only on taiwan, cause the modem won't work for global edition. We will have to tweak it.

I think i will download it and maybe force flash it, so maybe there are chances it could work, other than that i could try to flash modem seperately and hope that it would work. Besides these two ways, i cant do a damn thing. Give me a day to flash and, ill post the result here.

Can anyone upload the modem file from the rom. I want to try to flash it but don't want to download 1.5gb. Plus can anyone confirm that the band can be unlocked with modem image. What about other limitation, like kenzo is capable of quick charge, but the kernel laks it, does this device's kernal has the requirements to support quick charge.

But he didnt flash the modem, so there is no way of knowing about other lte band. He also stated that fingerprint was not working.
For thos who want to try, then flash it without modem too. As for finger print, copy the fingerprint modules from cm13 and replace them with the original in miui, fingerprint will start to work.

Hi all,
seems that some guys where able to remove software based baseband restrictions from SnapDragon modem chips so it is possible that you use your phone in every band that is supported by your hardware. In that post a driver for OnePlus is linked too For worldwide travellers this seems to be quite comfortable.
In the quoted post you'll find the necessary drivers for our OPO and in the first post you'll find the whole procedure.

BE CAREFUL!
BRICKING OF DEVICE IS POSSIBLE!
So, what bands are available after doing this? Are there any unmentioned bands?

Just take a look at the first post in the thread. Some bands are restricted through software. There is a screenshot before & after unlocking. There are a lot of LTE frequencies which are unlocked etc. It depends on the modem of your phone.
I believe this is only worthwhile for the Chinese OPO to unlock the worldwide LTE bands to be able to use it in the US.

Possible, I can't prove that because I've got the international version. But as far as I know many here in the forum are using the chinese version of the OPO so perhaps it could be useful.

This doesn't matter for OnePlus One , we don't have restrictions in the baseband. You can use it worldwide without doing this thing.

how do you get into the relevant diagnostic/debugging mode with the 1+1 .
Download mode is easy, +vol and power with usb connected, or +/- with usb connected but not diagnostic, the process described doesn't work in download mode.

From what I've read diagnostic mode is ROM dependent. Can anyone with a stock CM11 S try the following from phone:

On my crdroid variant this magix sequence does not work. Regarding orgingal thread the phone should just go off screen without any error after typing this numbers.

None of the existing short codes work. We have download mode by pressing both vol buttons while the device is powered off and connected. This mode is close but it's not quite the same.
Which is why I asked, I've tried all the other published ones. Someone in the other thread said they'd got the devices showing up in device manager, but not how.

Now that Three UK has officially declared support for 800Mhz VOLTE on the Xperia Z5 I was wondering if anybody tried connecting to 800Mhz frequency.
I have got a EE sourced Z5 and I wonder whether it will connect to 800Mhz if I fash it with Three software.
If you flash it, possibly. There's no harm in flashing to find out and flashing back if you aren't satisfied.

I don't know why you would need a factory data reset. But if you want to go ahead
Your phone should connect to the best band provided by your network by default, I don't think it's going to matter what European firmware you use. If you are on Three I would flash the Three firmware anyway so you can use VOLTE when it comes out.

You will have to factory reset your phone because you will get a small system update from Three, which I think enables the 800Mhz network.
Not sure if it supports VOLTE but my phone doesn't show the VOLTE arrows but I have made calls while on 4G.
Or you can try to connect to the 800Mhz 4G network by going to a area where the 1800Mhz 4G signal is weaker.

Band 12 is not a prereq for VoLTE. VoLTE works fine on band 4 too. VoLTE is a prereq for band 12 (officially speaking, you can enable it without it) so T-Mobile can comply with 911 regulations.

I just downloaded "MTK engineering mode start" from playstore and enabled band 12. seems to be working great on my stock oem build
BLU_R0011UU_V12_GENERIC
MTK engineering mode start does not require root. (it might require developer mode, not sure though that is the only thing I have done to the new stock rom I installed. and yes my phone is a amazon variant that I changed to stock variant by installing the stock rom.)

VoLTE(voice over LTE) is what people want, but there's a lot more to it than just enabling band 12. It also requires software and certification that Blu hasn't completed yet. So, while you may have band 12, you don't have voLTE. Blu says on their web site that a voLTE update will be available "shortly after launch".
There is a way to activate B12 on BLU R1 HD before the official update comes out. Please note that you will not have access to VoLTE services while you are on B12 with this device until the official support of B12 is enabled. This might affect your ability to receive and make calls and limit your access to E911 services if no GSM/UMTS coverage is available in the area. Only data services will be provided when there is no GSM/UMTS coverage available.
Can you please tell which bands were also available to be enabled except 12 ?
Thanks

We did NOT get a band 12 update with the OTA. That's why everyone was cautioned not to take the OTA because it locks up the phone and disables use of SP Flash Tools. So at this time, there is no way to root or flash a phone that took the 6.6 update.

Apparently it is happening. Though, my phone says, up to date, when I check (so, may be not for everyone). (I am new, so it does not let me post a link, but, just google "r1 hd volte" and look in news)

Exynos and Qualcomm chipsets don't have the same LTE modem, so it won't work probably. But thanks anyway

Big risk with doing this (cannot find the GitHub link but this should be sufficient)

Yes it's definitely not for newbies
I'm not sure whether someone has done this before me, but I have successfully enabled B3+B7 CA on my ZUK Z2 through modifying RF LTE values in QXDM. For those who live in area outside China and have 4G+ interband coverage (of course your phone has to first support the bands for CA in your area), this is good news for you. If someone else needs it, I can release a guide here.
EDIT: Guide released in 3rd post.

Guide
First, make sure your phone is rooted and you have QPST and QXDM installed with all the necessary drivers. Enter your phone into diag mode through adb shell. If you don't know how to do this, a simple Google search will always help you.
Next, make sure your phone is detected in QPST & QXDM (refer to Google too if you don't know how to do it).

Afterwards, go to NV Browser in QXDM and select RF LTE from the category filter. Scroll down until you find a description with the content RFNV LTE B3 CA BC CONFIG.
Finally, after clicking on it, click read down in the bottom. Click multiple times on the Input Column in Fields and enter the value 524484. Click write and reboot your phone. You can also change the value of RFNV LTE B7 CA BC CONFIG if you wish to get B7+B3, B7+B7 & B7+B8 CA, still depends on support from your carrier though.
Interesting! Will try the procedure this weekend.
Thanks!
Can you give a list of all the bands which can be combined for CA using this?

Theoretically all bands which ZUK Z2 support can be combined provided your carrier supports it.
So, even TDD and FDD bands can be combined? For example FDD Band 3 + TDD Band 40.

Technically speaking yes, in QXDM there are indeed values to combine B1+B41/B39 initially entered, so you will have to figure out the number you want using a decimal to binary converter instead of the current one I gave. I did modify the values for FDD+TDD for my own setup but I can't test it since carriers in my country has yet to launch it.
thanks for the reply.
Do you know why the phone does not support carrier aggregation out of the box? the x12 lte modem supports 3x20mhz CA so why do we need to do this tweaking for it to work? I tried on a nexus 5x and CA was working without any additional tweaking. I guess it is something that the OEM decides to enable/disable?

Yes exactly. ZUK only enabled CA for bands used in China because this phone was aimed for the China market anyway, so for CA on other bands we have to unlock it ourselves.
Its possible to revert to orginal settings?

Yes. Just change it back to original values, or restore your backed up QCN file before making this change.
Is it possible to enable B20 (800MHz)?
If someone can try it, please tell me!

No. Nothing is mentioned about B20 in this thread. This thread isn't meant to enabled unsupported LTE bands.
hey man, could you share your phone's qcn file? I only need lte related nvids, you can use qrct to export them.
[little off topic]
Would someone kindly share you QCN (the stock one)?
My Zuk Z2 got the signal loss error months ago and I revert it, but now it came back and I try all the things (there is a topic about this error) and nothing I do working.
I will use my own backuped IMEI, MEID and MAC, but I need to try a non modified QCN first.
Thanks!
My QPST Configuration State Only Showing Green Bar Progress. Not Enable like yours. Any advise please

su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,rmnet,adb
Am i Correct?
But...
On QXDM --> NV Browser --> No RF LTE
Try to scroll by sorting via description to find RFNV also can't find...

PFA for Screenshot as attachment.
Hope you can help what went wrong. Is it because of the QXDM version? I try to find the latest version, but i don't have the license.
Last, the NV ID that show on my QXDM up to 65673 only.
Update: Change QXDM Version, manage to make it 4G+
Thanks. A day and two, i realized battery drain a bit faster then normally does. It is normal, as Modem work on both B3 and B7.

All 3-4 screenshots are same in your guide... & how did you calculate B3+B7 value?
how to find the values of B5+B3 , B5+40 & B3+40 ?

You just need to calculate the ones you like to CA for that band, there's an app on play store for that. For example for B5, calculate B3 and B40 support together. The values are same because I set the same supported bands for them.
