Hey guys. I have been frantically trying to search for solution to this annoying issue. When I play Netflix on my Toshiba HDTV through Samsung's MHL adapter , the video freezes but the sound continues to play. I tried changing the netflix settings to lowest quality, but no help! Anyone have any ideas??? I am literary on a crossroad to returning the MHL adapter as it is not doing what I need it to do.... I cannot imagine that there is NO ONE out there that does not have the MHL adapter and tell me if they have the same issue ( hence may be it's an MHL adapter issue ). Help will be greatly appreciated.
Try going to developer settings and ticking disable hardware overlay.

Thanks for the reply but I do not see anything that says " Hardware overlay " .... I have " Show CPU Usage - screen overlay showing current CPU usage" and that is the only thing that mentions overaly in my Developer Options.
If you are on jb you'll see it if not try disable any graph acceleration that you see have to say I have jb and when I reproduce a video in almost getting in the middle of any video I get a green glitch and then keeps going weird hope I could help I'd this doesn't help try other kernels cheers

Hello guys
I am having a strange issue with my rooted note 3 here.
Everytime I plug it in on the AC power for charging, it starts reproducing Samsung tune and there is no way to stop it but by switching it off.
The last app I installed was and Xposed framework tweak (the S5 ultra power saving mode), though I don't think that's the reason causing this.
Please can anyone help me fixing this issue?

I've been an avid fan of XDA specifically in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Section. Now the time has come that I am in need of help.
Whenever I charge my Note 3, either it be via PC or through the charger that came with the box, it plays the "Over the Horizon" ringtone every time.
Any suggestions?

Its very weird, factory reset or hard reset the phone, it’s a software end issue.
I tried the IR blaster today but it does not work. I used the stock app, Asmart and many more IR app in the playstore but it didn't work. I checked if the IR LED is functional by viewing it in a digital camera and it does lit up. Now I used the same app (Asmart) on multiple TV on my brother's note 3 to make sure it's not the app or the tv. I found out that its not the app or the tv but my phone. Model is SM 910C. Anyone else having the same problem?

I am having the same problems on mine. I went into Verizon about it. I figured it was my phone. The guy called the IT department and was able to speak to them. Now, I'm telling you truths here, but we all know that when you're talking to a VZW Rep you get random stuff.
They did some things, really just asked me what I tried to do, and then they were making sure I wasn't rooted and stuff, but in the end said that there is a known issue with the IR Blaster. I'm actually quite disappointed in this. But, they said... here's where you get what you want to out of this... they are releasing a patch that will solve it. I was even given a date of January 15th. Now, I'm not going to be thumping around anything on anything about a Jan 15 update other than telling you that I got the information today and I'm taking it as a very small bit of information and I'm not going to bet the farm on this date and information, so you do what you feel you need to.
WHAT WE DO NEED!!! Get your phones out, point it at a TV and shoot that bastard until you find out if your phone works. Please, we need you guys to pitch in and find out if this is actually all Note 4's, some random ones or just a couple. I don't want to be stuck in a week past my 14 day window getting some jerks phone that bought it to play with, took it clubbing, spilled a drink on it and turned it in and now I'm stuck with that piece of _____. I want a new phone if I need a new phone as mine is 8 days old. So, please please get out there and help us.
I have a UK un branded rooted note 4 and haven't really used the ir blaster till I read this.
Tried mine on both TV and set top box and it works everything all the time so maybe it's a software issue with verizon versions? Kinda suck if it is.
Nope my Sprint US Variant Model N910P, works perfect with the stock remote app.
I'm going to post this on reddit.
I use the watch on app in two different places with no issues.

That is BS on a grand scale, walk in there and dont take no for an answer, they need to swap your phone out for one that works! 15th of Jan for a fix hahahaha, these idiots are playing you the fool for sure, after that time when the so called "patch" doesnt work there goes your swap out period and youll have to wait weeks for the device to get fixed.
No way I would leave that store until they swapped out the unit, demand to speak with the manager, show and explain the issue and demand either a working device or a refund!
There is no way on earth they know that a fix is scheduled for the 15th of Jan hahaha.
Edit: mine works flawlessly with built in app and zaza.
Okay, I'm looking at this now and I used a few more apps, there are just some that aren't working. Seems every one of the 7 I had picked before this post was talked about didn't want to work. I really like Dijit and they aren't working. But the native app is working and I'm not sure if I just disabled that before I even tried it or what.

Me too having problems in my LG TV. No problems using my note 3's ir blaster with the said TV, with the note 4, the stock remote app is working intermittently. Sometimes its okay sometimes its not. If i want to increase the volume i have to press it multiple times before the volume is increased. With the note 4 even the power button press with the remote is not working. Same with channels, have to press it multiple times.
Bottom line is note 3's ir blaster and stock remote app had zero problems. I dont know with the note 4 if the problem is the hardware (ir blaster itself) or the software (stock remote app)

Hi, been wandering why my SM-N910H IR Blaster not working flawlessly. And thanks to you I know I'm not alone. Mine also working intermittently, sometimes it's ok but sometimes need several attempts to get it in the "active" state. Please if anyone here could help if this is hardware or software problem so I can ask for replacement. Tq
I have the same problem on my N910C
I think this bug affect only some types of Note 4. I think they affect the SM-N910H and SM-N910C.
Mine works fine I'm using the AT&T variant (N910A)

I'm having the exact same problem. It works intermittently and I thought this was a problem with the app itself but I am clueless at the moment.
The ir remote control is working or not? My answer are yes and no. It starts working for a while. Then don't know what happen it will stop suddenly. I don't think it is app related as other ir app will stop working as well after that. The phone must be turning off the service after something triggers it. After reboot the phone, it works again.
Anyone who experience this, restart your phone and start again

after clear memory it works too don't need restart for that.

I wrote mail to the Samsung support and they answer me that they are working in this issue.
How do I know if the IR blaster is not working or my TV is not compatible?
I have an almost two years old Panasonic GT60.
Have the same problem with IR blaster (works one time in hundred times). If someone find i solution please post it. I am using this quite a lot and this is realy annoying.

I am facing the same issue with my Xiaomi Note 3G. The issue is with memory card perhaps.

Try to format your memory card and see if problem persists...
is it that the music stop after the screen locked?
I tried to format the memory card that does not help
The music starts half a minute stops for a few seconds and repeat again stops
Then the phone got stuck and had to turn it back

Are u using any task manager(like clean master) which automatically stops the player while the screen is off...
Try to play music in safe mode and see if it works or not...

I'm asking that it happens to you when your screen is on or when phone is locked...?
This happens when we set pattern or any other lock type to our screen in redmi phones. I too faced this issue...put lock screen as none and then there won't b any issue with music
Edit: above thing dint work for long time. Looks like miui bug

It is not the problem with the memory card. The problem is with the MIUI Software. It forces closes apps for RAM Optimization when the screen is locked. It is a bug and has been reported to Xiaomi India Official. Hope that they will correct this issue in the next update !!

So here is the solution that worked for me ..
Go to security > power > change settings in there
Clean memory - never
Sleep - never
But it's seriously a bug which I hope would be fixed in next update ..
I own a Note 4g for a couple of months now and never had this issue.

For the pause bug, there's a simple solution. Try it
Download kernel auditor from play store.
Go to cpu hotplug and disable mp decision.
Now go to cpu and enable two or more cores.
That's it.

I went to the settings_additional settings_developer settings_memory optimisation... And set optimisation to low and worked for me. Try for yourself maybe it will help.
