hello everybody, im nicolas from belgium (sorry for bad English)
I've tried recently to install new arymod port from s7
but my phone never want to go after the logo screen.
I tried something like flash the kernel of darklord ... nothing.
So i'm back with my arymod
All thing it's all right except one :
My phone take a very very long time to charge (after a night only 30%) AND the battery discharge quickly (10% 30min)
So i think my battery is dead ... if i buy a new the problem will be resolved or not ?
It's possible the problem comme from firmware, or anything else which can discharge quickly my phone?
Thank everybody !!
small edition:
My phone vibrated intermittently and battery charging icon remains permanently even when I remove the cable
Do a factory reset first and see if that fixes it.
How old is your phone?
It's 2 year old, how can i do that correctly?
kernel, modem, firmware, all

Yes or no not going to know until you try another battery .
Anker brand from Amazon are good .

Are you using the same cable to charge and connect to pc with?
If so try another cable. Try also another USB port.
If nothing works then as suggested above, try another battery.
If that doesn't work either then it's probably the USB port in your phone that's bad.
Hi. Do a wipe /system /data /cache (i mean factory reset) for me it's always work Sorry i didn't read all... if battery won't charge its problem with USB in phone

thank you but the days before it worked properly, he loaded etc then a day later, nothing. so I assume that the problem of driver or usb is impossible, since it is the same component that I used

Hello,
I come with bad news
despite the new battery, the problem persists, I think usb is then screwed or is it possible that this is a soft brick?
My phone is not recognized by the PC, not even "unknown ringroad"
So, and because it's been a while that I want, I'm going to change phone and I hesitated between grade 4 and s6.
Which do you recommend?
In my note 3, I would like to repair the same when my girlfriend.

No need to throw in the towel yet, you can order a new USB port for your note 3 on eBay for cheaper than the battery even, just search for "note 3 USB port" or check out this link:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/Charger-Charg...-Galaxy-Note-3-N9005-/390800694709?nav=SEARCH
You can change it really easy, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes, if you are unsure how to do it you can search for repair guides on YouTube or just click on this link:

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

If problem with port it can be discharging quickly as well, and it could also be the battery as it's 2+ years old, so keep your new battery.

I would suggest you change the USB port first, but if you can turn the phone on you can use it throughout the day and see if it still discharges as fast as before.

I had to charge my phone 3 times a day and I thought something was wrong, but as soon as I got new battery it was perfect.

That charger is not original, what's the output rate on it?
As for battery life it all depends on what you do with the phone, it's not unusual if you play games or use something processor intensive.
Also the screen is drawing power, so set it to minimal brightness that you feel comfortable with.
Is your phone getting hot?

I was in San Diego for a week, used my phone, flew back to baltimore, got out the air port made a couple of phone calls, got in the car and got home. When I took my phone out of the pocket to call someone, my phone wouldn't power on. I plugged the charger in, nothing's happening. No led lights, no charging. I plugged it in for an hour and still nothing. I tried the USB cable with the black and red wires trick, still nothing.
I don't know why my phone's dead.....
Did anyone else experience a problem like this?
is this fixable? anyone know how to fix it? Anyone willing to fix it for me?
thank you, I just really want to get my phone back..
Your Battery is probably completely dead and unfortunately a lot of time on wizards the battery won't charge again until you give it a little juice to get it going. There's 2 ways of doing that, one is with a 9v battery and the other involves hacking up a mini USB cord. I've explained the 9v battery one twice this week already and I've seen the USB one on here at least twice this week also so I'm going to let you do a little searching for them.
Here, I decided to be nice and find one of my posts for you that explains how to do the 9v method. Check out post #9 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321375

hey thansk, but I did mention i tried the usb thing, and my gf has a 8125 so i tried her battery which was full and it still didn't do anything.
I'm going to try the 9v battery method..
thanks for your reply.
no one has any idea?
If you tried with a fully loaded battery from the wizrad of your gf and it still did not work then there might be more than just an empty battery.
Did you try to get into bootloader mode or do a hard reset using other battery?

is the bootloader mode when u press the right side buttons? if so yes I did try it.
I think I'm going to open up the phone today and try to see if anything is loose in there.
.. Turn on the device while holding the camera button. You will get into bootloader mode (3 colored screen) ...

To hard-reset you may try more than once ... when I do it sometimes I need to do it several times until the question appears to confirm the hard reset.
hmm, myphone died before to the point where it didnt charge, I recomend giing it a little juice, you can use the 9v battery, what I did is hacked up one of m wall chargers and did it that way, seperate the positive and negative wires then touch it to the + and - on the battery for like 5 seconds. after that just plug the phone in, and you should be good to go. hope it helps.
I tried allthe solutions listed, I think my phone is dead...
thanks for posting solutiosn people
I have HD2, had an android installed, everything was working perfectly until I've bought a cheap chinese recharger, at first android started to lag, tried to restart the phone and it cound't get past HTC logo after MALGR screen, I couldn't even get into multicolor screen to do a hard reset, simply VOL DOWN and POWER buttons didn't do nothing(in MALGR vol DOWN AND UP were working perfectly) and now it doesn't even boot at all...have no sign of life.
Does it mean my phone is bricked or maybe there is a chance it's a battery.
I'd start all over, HardSPL, rooting, reflashing, EVERYTHING (Maybe Task29? Never tried it before but its supposed to help) - I'm not a dev myself, but thats the first thing i would try to do - sorry I cant tell you what exactly is going wrong - maybe start by charging via USB afterwards
Could be a duff charger. Do you have a usb lead? You could try charging of the PC to see if you can get some line in it!
is the charger just a mains battery charger or usb ?,
only ask as i had to get just a battery charger from ebay as my usb on my phone has broke so i couldnt charge it via usb lead, so i bought 2 mains battery chargers and 2 extra batterys ,
it sounds like its just a dead battery, buy a new one from ebay as they are cheap enough, and hopefully that should work .
First thanxx for responding, guys!
I was "bending" and "torturing" the phone and the battery for a whole day and a half night, and realized that all I have is a bad luck - literally.
But at least it's not bricked, but it's pretty normal, because I did nothing to trigger that.
It's definitely a battery that was completely dead, so I just cut some old charger and charged it with my fingers holding wires against that little metal rectangles..
but that wasn't the end of my troubles..
now the pc just doesn't recognize the phone most of the times in the HSPL bootloader(sometimes it does, but still it won't flash or do anything), I have this active sync installed..
later I'll try at my friends place..
It's almost two years I have my HD2, so probably its life sources are just finished, but I won't give up until I'll try everything..
I'll let you know the results
Finally after a lot of efforts it's reanimated!
Gotta drink some bourbon for that! Cheers everyone!

i successfully upgraded my HTC p3452 touch elfin OS WM 6.0 to WM6.5 onyx ROM ..it was working fine after that..... but as i was out on a tour i couldn't able to charge its battery and it was kept for 4 days without charging battery..but now when i plug in the charger ..its not charging(no idication light even) ..its getting hot but not able to charge ....what is this issue????
What's your IPL and SPL version?
Uspl 3.10, ipl 3.10 , hspl 3.10
It's good, so you probably have a hardware issue, allow your device on charge for 24 h, check the contacts in the usb plug (there are some metallic stripes inside, make sure they are ok, not bent or twisted or missing) Same with battery contacts. And please don't open new threads in different forums...

i am shore. I have used this method with my ipod battery and elf battery.
but how can battery die suddenly..it was working normal...(10-12 hours backup) & how come after flashing new rom when it discharged it never regain back...y ??
how long have you had the battery and what rom are you using?
i have checked with new battery but no use.still its not working..not taking charging and not switiching on ... i had flashed a new rom and it was working fine ... i used it for 1 n half dys n whn battery drain out completely ..its is not charging since than...what to do ??
Are you charging by usb or mains? Is there light at all on led when plugged in to either?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
ya i am sure about all connections.... but no light is coming......no indications//// any method to get it back ... i have no money to buy new
Not sure. When you charged for 24hours, was it on mains or usb? You said the battery got hot and now you have a new one? Does this still happen with the new battery? (The heat part) does the computer detect any unknown devices? Have you tried any of the reset combination when plugged in?
Just trying to get a grasp of what you have tried.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Also, have you checked the voltage output of the battery on a multimeter?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
i just checked with new battery(full charged) that its switching on or not .... it wasn't...
power supply is perfectly ok... i tried with my charger as well as usb through my pc...
PC doesn't detect any device on connections....
No led display also...
I tried hard reset but no use... also pressen camera+power combination ...NO use...
it seems totally no response.....
What best i can do now??? i need my htc back...
Tempted to say your phone is dead. Not sure where the problem is, but I don't think doing a JTAG would help as it is not firnware bricked.
Did you check the voltage and current of the battery? Test it, see what it is. Charge for a bit, see if it has changed. If higher voltage, then looks like charging is working at least.
Excuse me for asking, but has the phone been dropped or anything at all?

Hey guys,
I noticed this yesterday my Nexus 4 (running PA 3.6, franco milestone 1) shut down at 30% charge. I went home and charged it (it showed 0 when I started charging it) to 100% continuously.
Today too the phone shut down when it was around 32-31% and now charging has again started from 0%.
What could be the issue?
I have tried the battery calibration app even though I know it does nothing.
Any ideas?

I have been flashing nightlies merrily on the Nexus4, never had to recalibrate the battery, though it sounds like your does need that. (I had a Desire HD before this, and it was very sensitive to errors in battery calibration)
How about if you charge the phone fully then either reflash the ROM or flash a nandroid backup you've made? Either of those options will overwrite the battery stats file - if that's the problem.
It could be that the chip in the battery is malfunctioning, ie a new battery could be needed, but that sounds much less likely

Okay I'll try reflashing the ROM when I'm at a 100%, I know deleting the batterystats.bin file doesn't do anything but I did that anyways yesterday, but it seems it didn't fix the calibration issue.
Any other ideas I could try while I charge my phone to a 100%?

Hi, @paul c, I would like to inform you that my phone's discharging just fine (charged it to a 100% last night and it's currently at 48%, I didn't reflash my ROM but I did reboot it once. I also haven't charged it since then)
Could you tell me what's the minimum and maximum battery voltage? I am guessing that the max voltage is around 4200mV but what's the minimum? Also, can we calculate the REAL battery %age from the voltage that is displayed by apps like DashClock? If we can do that could you tell me how/what formula we use to do that?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions and I would really appreciate any help here !
Thanks!

Hi,
I was inspecting the battery's voltage/charge the entire day today and I realized that at around 36% the voltage went around 3000mV (3100mV, Nexus 4's battery is rated at 3800mV and it maxes at around 4200mV). After that when I plugged it back in and turned it on it started charging from 0%.
I think the battery is at fault.
Is there any fix for this which does not involve replacing the battery?
Thanks!

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I tried charging through the night and then discharging it completely and charging it completely again. I also tried deleting the batterystats file (even though I know it doesn't do anything)
So what do you suggest I should do? Get the phone replaced or get the battery changed?
I live in India and the phone is from Canada, so replacing the phone will take some time but I can get the battery replaced for around $20
Also my nexus is also showing +ve mA values while it's not charging, and the values are absolutely crazy, +268, +168, +1171 (in batter monitor widget)
Please tell me what I should do.

When you open the back case did you notice if the battery looks bigger/inflated? Maybe you should replace the battery.

Okay, I got my battery replaced, drained it to 0% (after a full charge) and going to charge it completely by the travel adapter that I purchased from the service center.
Attached are the pics of my old battery, I don't know if you can see it but it's swollen. If I recall I used a nexus s' charging cable to charge the phone from a computer and it was charging like AC (my kernel usb fast charge was OFF) and it also never detected my phone in the explorer (Windows)
My problem's solved now, it was a battery issue for me. I upgraded to PA 4.3 in the process by the way
So I guess I'll stick to my regular micro USB cable and charge via the travel adapter whenever possible, thank you everyone for your inputs!

I hope changing the battery fixes it for you too! And here you go : Nexus 4 battery
My mi note 2 isn't fast charging/charging properly. I bought it new and I've only been using it a couple of days. The first day the phone charged normally, both through quickcharge and regular charging. It drained to about 25% yesterday so I plugged it in whilst I used it, but noticed the percentage was going down even with the charger plugged in. Its now taking around 7 hours to charge fully. I have checked the charger cable, adapter and tried several different ones but I am still having the same problem. I've only had the phone a couple of days so I don't understand why the first charge would work but then the battery is struggling to charge after that.
I'm using miui 8.5.5.0 global stable version and haven't unlocked or installed any custom roms.
Can anyone help?
Your charging port must be dameged bro ,go to aliexpress and find ur phone parts there for cheep get it and install it if u dont know what you are doing take the part to the professionals and ask them to install it , or u cant also ship back the phone tonthe seller and ask him to refund or replacement (tho this is a much costlier affair which i dont recommend you)
P.s lets hope all gets sorted out soon and feel better about the purchase of this beautiful device
Cheers
Is there a way to check if it is the charging port before I go down this route?

Did the phone came with that OS version already installed?
When you plug it in, the lightning icon that's next to the battery icon has a circle around it?
Did you tried a factory reset?

The phone did an ota update to this version after I set it up. The lightning icon doesn't have a circle around it and it seems to charge slowly whilst turned off still as well

You charge with the original cable and charger , right?
If yes, try doing a factory reset or reflash using MiFlash.

Yes using the supplied cable and charger. I'll try a factory reset at the weekend when I have time to set up the phone again. Hopefully this will sort it as I'm not sure what else to do ?
