Note 4 SM-N910G - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So the most recent update to Marshmallow OTA screwed up something in my phone, it started lagging, the WiFi wouldn't store passwords so every time I connected to WiFi it would ask me to enter the password and Private Mode was messed up giving the error "Failed to enable private mode, try again" so i figured maybe a Factory Reset would fix this did it to reboot and see the same exact errors, so try to do another factory reset and see the error "dm verity verification failed" on the boot up menu.
My phone is the N910G from india and I'm running it on EE in the U.K so Samsung say they can't do anything about it and I'd need to show it to someone in India, but would the network make a difference or cause this issue.
Anyone with any experience in this same situation?
Thanks a ton, appreciate it.

You can flash this. No problem for me :

What Odin version are you using? Best to use version 3.10.7 or later.
You can try ticking the options Nand Erase All and Update Bootloader before flashing the Rom.

I was using the old Odin3_v3.09, but just downloaded the 3.11.1 now will try this and see what hppanes.
Thanks

Try going to stock recovery then wipe cache and data/factory reset.
Hope it can solve your problem.

Done over and over and no go, it's a very frustrating issue and I can not figure out what's up. I even did the update through Kies and still the same.

Is it possible my Note 4 N910G could be a different version like from Singapore even though I've brought it from India?
Are there any risks in flashing the N910G other country version oof the software?

Yes, most probably. You can try flashing another official firmware such as from Singapore. No risk AFAIK as long as the Rom is for the same variant N910G. Flashing will just fail if incompatible.
I experienced this when flashing a Singaporean Rom. Flashing always fails. Flashing Indian Roms however are always a success. My phone is Australian N910G.

Oh wow didn't know that, so you have an Australian N910G with an Indian Firmware. Cool will try that.
Thanks.

Galaxy note 4 unroot fail

I rooted my galaxy note 4 the other day and I was playing around with build prop editor and I put in a code for Hotspot and when I reset my phone it kept showing up with an error saying it couldn't connect to networkprovider so I factory reset the phone thinking that would help but it still does it. when I tried to install an earlier firmware it failed can someone please help.?!
What you are describing has nothing to do with unrooting.
You have a problem because you modified a system file. Your problem has nothing to do with root.
Anyway, the solution would be to flash stock firmware. Your "flashing an earlier firmware" failed because flashing older firmwares would mean downgrading, and Samsung doesn't want you to do that. So it fails. In conclusion, flash a newer firmware version.

Oh dear ! Thats not a good sign.your motherboard is acting crazy.try flash twrp again in odin and try to flash rom without wipe cache or dalvik cache (just wipe system) and flash rom.
If same error ( invalid argument) shows again then in twrp advance wipe there is repair tab at bottom in twrp try to repair cache partition and try again.

Please help me save this great phone.

So my beloved note 4 is very poorly and I'm unsure of how to fix her
Phone turns on and boots, sometimes takes longer than others, and I can get to Download mode and recovery.... So maybe there's hope?
It's back on stock kit kat..... Here are it's issues.
Random freezes and reboots,
Sometimes the imei is unknown, pulling sim and rebooting and dialling *#06# brings it back temporarily.
This all happened very suddenly after a MM OTA update but maybe just a coincidence.
What I've tried so far, flashed stock KK with odin and wiped in recovery, none helped.
I've downloaded the n910f 4 file repair firmware that was kindly posted in another thread, but I've read conflicting advice about ticking the repartition option in odin.... Some said do it and someone else said this would wipe my imei... Which would be obviously bad.
Has anyone had similar issues to me and found a solution? I'd be eternally grateful for any help, I love this phone and want to save it. Please help.
Kind regards steve.

Firstly I'd like to thank you for your time and help.
Thought I'd share what happened. I flashed the 4 files and pit file and it failed right at the end, tried 2 different odin versions with same results. This left me without recovery and the triangle of death saying please connect to kies.
I could still get into download mode so I flashed just the ap file from the recovery firmware, It passed but the boot took 20 minutes and at that point I pulled the battery and got Into recovery and after 2 minutes or so the blue line went by itself and it rebooted to lollipop 5.0.1
I can make phone calls and install apps, it's just a little laggy but may improve after it settles down.
Do you think I should quit while ahead? Flash MM In odin or let the phone OTA update?
Thanks again and any further thoughts appreciated.
Cheers

Did you wip cache & factory reset after flash ?
Yes you can flash mm with pit file but must do factory reset after every flash to get clean operating system and avoid bootloops.
I suggest flash in odin mm instead of ota to avoid any issues.
Once your phone boot do not touch just let it rest for atleast 10 minutes to settle down.

Help with note 3 9005 loop booting

Hil
I have a similar problem. I have a note 3 with original UK ROM and wanted to flash my operator ROM to get wifi calling. Both are android 5.0
The problem is after trying to flash the first time I had a problem that the new ROM would not fully flash. reading posts I understood I had to flash PIT file which I downloaded and flashed. After flashing PIT the new ROM did not go in so I flashed my original UK.
After reboot I kept getting security warnings that something has changed and I should reboot. After several boots the problem did not go away.
So I tried to flash ROM again, different tries between UK ROM and my operator ROM, but the phone now only loops at booting. Sometimes it gets stuck at first Samsung screen.
Can anyone please help?
Thank you
What original rom.
What rom you updated to ?
Probable you flashed the wrong size PIT .

Hi,
So the following:
Original ROM: N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005BTUGBOJ1_BTU
My operator (EE): N9005XXUGBPB1_N9005EVRGBPB1_EVR
Now I tried: 4.4.2.N9005XXUGNG1_N9005OXAGNG1_BTU
I tried the following PITS:
SM-N9005 FTM pit
SM-G900F EVR pit
Any suggestions, would be very grateful.
Thanks
SM-G900F EVR pit
Thats not for N9005 .
Have you tried Samsungs KIES ??

S7 Edge G935F Stock rom flashing issues!

Hey, i have a s7 edge that i attempted to root but bricked instead, it booted to the Verification failed, please factory reset screen. I tap Reset and it goes to TWRP. So i wiped System, data, cache, internal storage thinking it would work but i messed up the whole thing!!
I tried flashing the stock firmware via odin but it always fails on 'sboot.bin'. I don't know what to do. Please help. Smart switch doesn't detect the phone.....
edit: i have just found that sboot.bin fails because of a outdated bootloader? would downloading the latest firmware from sammobile work?? i really need the phone working as quick as i can

Yea it could be the issue ,as u can't downgrade bootloader only update it with newer version.
Also if that doesn't help but hopefully will ,try nand erase and repit too.
