Eincar/Pupug YH.AN271gn6 with Android 4.2.2: TTS problem - Android Head-Units

I have this annoying problem, folks. The unit mutes the first second or two of a TTS announcement; after that the volume rises to the normal level and stays there.
For example, during the Google TTS speech test "This is an example of speech synthesis in English" the volume rises from 0 to full at ~ "an example". If the test is repeated immediately again then the whole phrase starts from full volume. After a several seconds' pause the volume again rises from 0 to full volume at ~ "an example". I.e. the first couple of words are muted.
During the VocalizerEX TTS speech test "One, two three" the initial "One" is completely muted so it comes out as "... two, three".
This problem makes TTS all but impossible to use in navigation (iGO Primo in my case). It manifests itself in all three TTS packages that I have tried so far: Pico, Google and VocalizerEX TTS.
I did a search on XDA and found two relevant posts:
1.
TT's voice guidance has an issue when the AN21 "gala function" (speed dependant
volume control) is activated. TT's voice guidance will fade in/out dependant on
the speed in a very agressive manner and much more as it's influenced more than
for example the radio output, making first and last words of the guidance
inaudible in some cases. No such issues with Gala "off".

and
2.
Question : Have you set your "Gala" Function ? (Speed dependant Volume control
?) I've noticed Tomtom 1.3 doesn't like that at all. It resulted in muffling the
first few seconds of a voice instruction, only outputting the last part of the
voice guidance at a loud level. Only solution I found for that issue was to
disable the SDVC function.

I tried turning GALA (Speed Dependant Volume Control or SDVC) - In Eincar GALA is called "Speed-compensated volume control" - on and off, but it did not help. I am at my wits end, folks. I love this unit but TTS in navigation is a must have. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do next? Below are some screen shots.

[Guide] Sound fix that works (Omina 7/Focus)

Thought you focus owners might find this useful as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342622
I made it easier for Focus owners (rather than bouncing on Omnia 7 threads/wiki).
To increase overall loudness of the phone (Focus/Omnia7):
Run Diagnosis, type *#0002*28345# to get to the "Sound Tuning" menu.
Locate "Device Gain" (lower part of the screen)
The first value identifies the output. Legend:
2 - ear speaker (call)
5 - headphones
7 - back speaker (default shown)
Standard values for a Focus AT&T/Rogers are:
2 600 -1600
5 400 -1100
7 1200 -500
(you can check by entering the device number and pressing Get).
Suggested values in the Omnia thread (to improve loudness):
2 1000 -1600
5 1200 -1200
7 0 -500
For my AT&T/Rogers focus, only 5-headphones seem to work (it's louder).
Anyone else?
On another note, Roger's speakerphone seems a tad louder that AT&T's, on the default values...

Don't forget to thank ballajalla for his post!
Good idea I wish more people used the different devices wiki's though, makes it so much easier to find useful information.
I stand corrected! (Back) Speaker is also louder, not just headphones as I originally stated. However, NOT if you play in Zune!
So: alarm sounds, notifications, calls/ringtones ARE louder, but playing a song or video in Zune is the same audio level as before! Maybe playing in Zune is on another Device gain value? (different from 2, 5 or 7)
I still don't see a difference in call loudness but that might be me
Everything sounds much better except for Zune video for me as well. Actually playing a movie trailer in an app like Flixster is terrible too. If my volume is under '12' I can't hear anything...have to turn it to max (30) to hear. I would love the values to adjust volume for video playback if there are any. Also has anyone noticed any improvement with sound auxiliary out to a car stereo? That volume seems extremely low also.
Has anybody been able to increase bass through this diagnosis app?

2 questions new head unit install

Hi all-
at one time I was interested in converting a tablet into a head unit, but lacked the know-how so I finally just bought one from ali express and installed it; android 4.4 and I can't post links so you can
use the ali search and enter: 2 DIN Android 4.4 7 Inch Bluetooth Audio In Dash to find the specific unit that looks like

For the most part, it's great- but I have two questions that would make it even better
(1) I can play music and audiobooks (two different apps) over bluetooth, and the audio is perfect. When I get bluetooth calls though, it starts with a blast of static and then nothing- I assumed it was a mic or feedback problem, but I just played a voicemail recording from the phone AT&T "visual voicemail" app, and it did the same thing even though that is just playing a recording and shouldn't be using the mic at all. Does anyone know what if there is some other difference between 'audio out' apps that might cause some to work find, and others to have problems? There are rear ports for audio input, but I don't think those replace the mic, so for now I'm stuck with external troubleshooting (I'm not ready to take it apart and start doing surgery on the unit)
[EDIT: it also plays the audio from Google Maps with no problem]
(2) The unit has a very long splash screen- so long, that I can get out my 150' driveway and down the block before it goes away and allows BT to connect to play my audiobooks. I looked through the menus but haven't found a way to shorten that screen. I realize this may require rooting if it is not a publically available setting. Where should I be looking (or is it stored in a file somewhere?), and if rooting is required, how does a newbie like me figure out the best options for rooting, preferably leaving the rest of the OS as-is so I don't accidently jack up the reverse and forward camera functions, etc?
I'm not a frequenter of XDA, but this seems to be the most knowledgable place for this type of thing- so I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction
Many thanks!

General "Where to start" questions

Hey all,
I just installed a "tesla style" radio. As advertised, it's a 9.7'' Android 10.1 tablet. Here is a pic of some of the details
Android: YT9216BJ_00012_V001
Android os: Android 10.1
XY AUTO: J6.5 (X2)
CAN Pro: Hiworld WeiChi-Foucs-V2.21.0-connect
DDR: 1G FLASH: 16G
cpu: A7 1.3GHz x 4
display: 1024*7686 bits)
MCU: 3.7 (X2)
There are many things I can't stand with this launcher and I wanted to see if it's possible to change them and how difficult it might be. I did some android development a while ago, but I was only making apps, not launchers (or whatever this is called).
I tried downloading a launcher and when I opened the launcher, the annoying issues still remained. One of the worst parts is that there is a bar on the top (like a quick-access app bar) and a bar on the bottom for climate control. Since my climate control is manual, the lower bar is mostly useless, takes up space and is just plain ugly. It does have the back, home and volume control as well, though I'd like to redesign this. The top bar, I'd like to be able to switch apps on the quick access list, but nothing is movable or anything like a regular android device and I would only use a single one.
There are other issues that I'd like to change or even upgrade, maybe even try to add the sync functionality back in there...
Anyways, I read some of the launcher threads here, but after trying a 3rd party launcher, it feels like the things I need to change are deeper than a home app. Is this possible to change? If so, how do I even get this image on to a computer to start editing?
Thanks!
I have similar unit on my 2015 corolla

I tried this launcher (https://www.mediafire.com/file/9gxd5wy57c9wsh4/Launcher.apk/file) and i'm happy with it... One of the the themes can show your speed in MPH if you need that also. However.. the car lost the AutoLock door feature, and the Chirp/Beep when locking on/off the doors.. Any idea what could be the reason?

Joying HU 2020

Just installed a Joying 7" HU to an Australian Hyundai i30:
Spec JY - UO128N4GSN 8-Core Intel Spreadtrum SC9853i 1.8GHZ
Operating System: Android 8.1 Oreo
GPU: Maili T820 MP2
So far I have been very pleased with the operation and appearance of this HU after owning a prev version 4 years ago.
I have one bug I don't seem to be able to get the better of. I hope someone on this forum may be able to help.
I got a USB front camera mounted beside the center mirror. The camera is a generic Chinese unit U2 with ADAS etc. from E bay. The camera came with "Traffic Safety Guard" pre loaded into it's RAM. I put a 16G card in the camera slot. The software installed into the HU OK.
The picture from the camera displayed on the HU is very good. If I start the program it records the video very well and tags it with date time etc.
Problem:
The HU will not auto load the camera software on restarting the car.
The HU auto starts all other programs I left running like Radio, GPS nav and all others like music player.
If I manually restart the "Traffic Safety Guard" app all is well until I restart the car. Then the HU drops the program again. - infuriating.
Joying offered NO help on my request, said it was normal.
I tried a few Auto Start Apps but they do not change the problem - it still wont restart the camera app automatically.
Any help would be great. Keep in mind I am not proficient at writing software I am an ex telephone tech so elec trickery is my thing.

Use FYTStarter from @bambapin
See here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-ram-32gb-flash.3897206/page-58#post-80411035
You can sssign apps to be started on boot/resume from sleep.
That solution worked perfectly first time!!!
I now don't have to worry every time I start the car if I have turned the camera on.
Thank you for your help!
This forum and ones like it are one of the better things about the internet.
Thanks again.

StationStreamer - Car internet radio app

StationStreamer
Based on the idea from @scotjh
[DEV] FM+ French Radio Junsun [V1.14]
This is not a web radio. It is a relay in case of loss of FM reception. Internet required. Put your shortcuts in the same place for convenience. A shortcut is created to switch to the application. Only French radio ... For the moment...
forum.xda-developers.com
I created the app "StationStreamer" - a minimalistic internet radio application with > 31k radio stations:
