Hi!
I have problems with issuing a command to play an artist in Play Music on my phone from my LG Urbane.
It's a spinning circle going around for a few seconds, then says "retrying", then circle again, saying "trying again", circle again, "still trying", circle and finally a cloud with a cross over and the message Offline together with example commands
However it is not offline, and other commands works.
Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
So I've searched Google and these forums but am coming up empty handed.
As of the last few weeks, whenever I press the music icon in the notification tray to pull up the controls and hit the pause button, the little icon just disappears and I have to then go back into the music app to resume play, which then puts the icon back down there. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions? This is the stock music player btw. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I did find one article in the Google forums with the same issue but it was never answered. Thanks in advanced!
Do u run stock rom on u r a500?
This is not exactly a bug. Since there is no "stop" button Google uses "pause" as both. You can make a widget which will have a play button on it. This is really the simplest "fix."
Thought I'd share an interesting discovery,
I'm on the stock rom, and have both google search and google now disabled. I discovered by accident that whenever I press any of the three buttons and swipe up (similar to how you launch google now, but with any of the buttons), the screen is switched off and locked.
I dont 't know if anyone has noticed this before, but this is very useful since you can lock the phone from anywhere without having to use the hardware button.
I don't how you did this, but it doesn't work for me.
For me, when swiping up, if I move to the "google circle" it opens Google search, and if I don't move enough to that circle, nothing happens ...

Click to collapse
As i mentioned, I have google search disabled as well. It also works with any of the 3 buttons. My phone isnt rooted or anything of that sort.
Install "screen off" app and do what khaledm_92 says
Hi everyone,
Just wish to share an issue and see if anyone here faces this as well.
My Note III will often freeze and crash under this following scenario:
- Music player (or other music apps eg MeRadio) on in background -> Whatsapp messages come in
The result will be like:
1.) Screen freeze (screen not responsive, not even home screen button) + music stop momentarily and then continue playing
2.) After a few seconds of freeze, the pop-up saying "Unfortunately, WhatsApp has stopped." appears.
3.) Back to normal, and whatsapp will be restarted.
4.) Another whatsapp message comes in, it repeats.
I noticed that it doesn't happen every time - when I got frustrated with it I will often restart phone, and it doesn't bother me for a while.
Is it a RAM issue? I use the "Clean Master" app to keep my RAM low most of the time.
All suggestions are welcomed. Thank you!
Regards,
Desmond
Hey guys just need a little help.
When I first got this phone I swear I remember using Google Assistant from the Home Screen, saying "Ok Google". "Navigate to the nearest Burger King". And it goes straight to Maps in Navigation.
Now it doesn't work. She just goes "Ok Burger King" then big full white screen remains. I've also tried using Assistant from Home saying "where is the nearest Gas Station" and she just says "found 14 in the nearest 5 km" while maintaining the same white screen that Assistant has.
I thought it was a problem with GMaps as some other commands like "send text", "open Chrome" or "watch YouTube S8 review" work, but some don't. For example, If I go "amazon spigen cases", assistant replies "these are the results, the top result is from amazon" . I think the Assistant is doing the work it's just the full screen white screen doesn't disappear therefore blocking the results.
The only thing I remember changing significantly on the phone is the immersive mode hack. I turned it off and it still wont work.
If the community has ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Does anyone know the intent that should be used to trigger voice search on a phone running the Android Auto app ?
I have tried calling android.intent.action.VOICE_ASSIST - which does bring up voice search, but it appears to be the full google assistant window, as it covers 2/3 of the screen, and sits on top of the screen if no command is heard.
I also tried android.intent.action.VOICE_COMMAND, this looks more like the voice search that is started from within Android Auto (only covers the top 1/4 of the screen, and disappears when finished listening) - but this doesn't appear to accept any voice input.. despite showing that it's listening.
Anyone have any ideas if there are other actions that can be called to kick off the voice search ? - I'm basically looking to replicate touching the mic button in the top right of Android Auto.
Thanks!
Did you ever find an answer to this?
