I received an update, and I THINK this (link below) is what it changed, but was there anything major?

Is there a way to go back to the May update? I can't text at all. I can only receive. 935F working fine with the same SIM card... ugh
UPDATE: Left the phone off overnight, and started working today. So strange.
UPDATE 2: The problem came back - had AT&T re-register my phone to the network and everything is fixed.

Ive updated my voicemail to the new update around 3 wks ago or so. Last night I started getting voicemails that were a couple days old that I didn't even know about. So I sent myself some voicemails and didn't get them. I then uninstalled the new voicemail update and when it uninstaleed I got some more old voicemails pop up. After that I got the popup that said a mandatory update is available. I it ok to reinstall the update and then it says no updates available. I have the notification telling me bout the update but every time I try to update it says no update available. I've tried everything. I just completed a hard reset that sprint tech. Told me to do and nothing. The sprint tech said he never heard if it and wants me to take it to a repair center to see if they can push it. I don't mind doing that but I live 45 mins from a repair center and if for some reason I have to do another wipe I'll be in the same position. Anybody know what to do or heard of this? Everything else updates just fine. Thank you
Having the same problem...I wouldn't bet it is a hardware problem.

Hello everyone. I would like to thank anyone who helps in advance, and also to the devs who work so hard.
Anyhow, the problem first surfaced on CM11 with a recent nightly. All of a sudden, my SMSes would not send. So I tried different apps, hangouts, stock SMS, gosms, etc. Nothing works, the message just times out.
Next I tried restoring my known good working rooted stock nandroid. It all of a sudden would not send SMS with that either! Then I tried wiping my entire device, and doing a clean flash of only the 12/17 CM11 and the newest PA Gapps, and I did not restore anything. Still not sending!!! Please help, did I break my device??
I doubt that you broke it so relax. Check your APN settings. Maybe restore original stock ROM and then reflash whatever you want. Before you wiped it all I would have tried Textra. Good luck.
This happened to me about two days ago, I was installing and reinstalling Paranoid Android on my AT&T LG G2 to the point where somehow I was unable to send SMS.
The funny thing is I could receive Texts & Picture messages from others, and I could send Picture messages BUT NOT send texts or reply to texts.
I tried other 3rd party messaging apps - I even went back to stock but my text messages wouldn't send! I went to my local AT&T store and they replaced my SIM card for free and everything was normal, even now it's working just great.
I even tried imputing the SMSC number again but i'd get an update error message.
Trust me I've tried everything and I couldn't get it to work, but I went to the AT&T store and all they did was switch my SIM card for a new one and everything was back to normal.

Dead sims, would also mean no signal to make a call as well maybe?

Yes, calls did come in and I could make calls. Data worked as well (still connected to LTE). Everything worked except mysteriously texts wouldn't send.
I wonder if it's something to do with flashing ROMS so many times to the point where we don't let the ROM settle or maybe certain ROMS 'embed' some file that confuses the SIM card to cause it to malfunction?

I really hope that it is the SIM and not my EFS, because when I restored to my known good Rooted stock Nandroid, EFS was included in that and it still didn't work. I have contacted AIO for a SIM but it's gonna be a few days. I wanted to get one anyway because I feel my cut-down SIM was negatively affecting my signal reception. I could be completely wrong in that, but still. I can do EVERYTHING except send SMS. So weird!

Is my SMSC supposed to have those extra numbers at the end? I even had AIO "refresh/provision" me to no avail. And while I was on the line with her, she wanted me to remove the 3 extra numbers. But they persist! I have included a photo so you can see what I mean.
Further (and less importantly), is anyone else having an issue with KK where the '*#*#4636#*#*' menu takes forever to show up after entering the code?
Thanks again to anyone who's made suggestions!

Ahh, good point, just saw calls worked anyhow, ignore that. And no clue.

I got that too but I still was unable to sent text messages. I also tried erasing the numbers and just adding the SMSC without any extra numbers and I would get an Update error.
Right now, this is what I have on my phone (it's fixed and no issues sending or receiving)

Thank you for showing me that. However, unless you are also on Aio, I don't think ours should be the same. I'm awaiting a new SIM from Aio to rule that out, so I will report back after I try the new SIM.

One more thing... How do you get yours to stick on LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)? Whenever I set mine to that, it always reverts back to just LTE/GSM. Just wondering, I doubt it's related to my issue lol =)

Not too sure, I've never moved that option on my phone, it was like that when I went to the settings menu. Maybe it's set by network? Not too sure.
I can only speak for the AT&T D800 G2 but I can no longer successfully send SMS texts by using either stock app or hangouts. Both fail every time, but still allows me to receive them. I've factory reset about 6 times and same issue. I'm bone stock running "d" release unrooted. Only things that are working are data based SMS programs like whatsapp and such.
Anyone else have this issue with this phone on any carrier?

I had this problem like two weeks ago. I too have the AT&T LG G2 and my texts stopped working but I can receive both texts and MMS. Every time I tried sending I would get a fail. I tried restoring back to stock and clearing everything but nothing seemed to work. I went to AT&T and they changed my SIM card and that fixed the problem. I also tried changing the SMSC number but that didn't change anything, it still failed to send.
The funny thing is that i was able to send pictures but not send texts lol
So the only thing that can fix this is getting a new/replacement SIM card.

Yup...Same exact problem to the T, forgot to mention the images going thru. So the new SIM worked without further issue? Have you noticed weak LTE signal also while having this issue? Mine seems weak and will stay in 4G where it should be picking up a LTE signal

Yeah for some reason with a new SIM card everything was fixed to normal, if not better! I just went to AT&T and I told the lady my texts werent going through but I was able to recieve texts and she was like 'Oh that sometimes happens, we just need to issue you a new SIM card' she changed the SIM card, tested text messages out and all worked fine.
As for LTE, my area has full LTE coverage, so even with the text issue my LTE signal was strong (about 3-4 bars)
So yeah, go get your SIM card replaced (they will do it for free) and everything will be back to normal
Got my phone from Sprint, activated it Monday and I keep getting repeat texts. I've called them and had my network settings reset on their end, I've reset the network settings on my phone, updated profile and profile, rebooted phone, everything I can think of. I'm still getting texts, from multiple people/security codes.
Is there anything else I can do?
I am having a similar issue. Yesterday I wondered why my phone appeared to be a bit on the quiet side. Turns out I can send text out just fine, but receiving them has proven a problem...
I was able to get an MMS message from one person, and then a repeat SMS message sent before that MMS on their end, again, again, and again, (At least 30 times so far) every 5 minutes or so until about mid last night...
Today I tried to do a full reprovision which doesn't seem to have done much. I got that same text once again, and the one after it, but I am still not getting anything after that from them, or anyone else who may or may not have texted me....
Not good and I can't figure out if it's a Sprint or Phone issue. :/
I'll like to add on to this, I have experienced the same issue.
I'm on Sprint as well.
There was two days I didn't get any replies from texts I sent out, then when one of them called me all their texts all came in at once, those messages had the times for when they was originally sent.
Even the girlfriend is telling me to return the phone now.
In the past when I've had similar issues I usually texted myself to see if it would send. So on the last day I was having issues I did that, I got back my message, so I'm like okay it works. Then 5 minutes later I got the message again.
Sounds like some quirkiness of the phone working with Sprint's network. The only people I have heard have this issue are Sprint users. I'm on T-Mobile myself and everything works. I did however have to manually correct my APN settings in order to send/receive MMS with WiFi Calling enabled. Have you confirmed your APN settings are correct?
This happens on sprint regardless of the device. Every Android phone I've had since 2008

I think you are right. I didn't necessarily had this issue with every phone but it did happen with Moto X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and now with Essential phone.
I've never had this issue before on any device on Sprint, and have had Sprint for a long time. Moto photon, HTC one a9, and now this. My wife has had Galaxy S5, note 3, s7, so with no issues
I have the complete opposite problem. I don't get texts for 1 to 2 hours after some one sends it. And I also don't get voicemail notifications. I don't know if I'm just missing something or what.
So, no ideas on how to fix? I've been on chat with Sprint 2x but didn't have time to finish the process. It takes 2+hours

The fix for it is pretty ridiculous but it seems to work:
Simply call someone and have it connect. For some reason this gets it to connect properly to the network. I'd guess it is a provisioning issue but who knows.
(Now if I can only get mobile data to work on all sites and not sporadically)
done that and its temporary, as soon as i get another text they all come in a flood

Guess it was Google voice that was causing the issue. Need to find a new voicemail app

Do the online chat, that's where I had the best success. The people in store were 0 help.
Are you using Google voice? Try factory resetting and not using that app
No I'm not using it I did the tech support app they are the ones who sent me to the store
There are two fixes to this:
1. As mentioned previously you can place and connect a random call. The negative is that you need to redo it periodically per need.
2. Change your cellular network to not include LTE (CDMA/EvDo auto or the like) settings-->wireless & networks-->cellular networks
Method 2 also fixes some other cell data issues such as not being able to open certain sites.
The negative is very slow data speed <5Mbps since you are using 3G which is an older wireless standard.
A quick way to see if things are working is to do a speedtest, if there is no upload speed (quick bounce then zero) then something is wrong.
It appears to be a communication/handoff issue and not hardware related so I'd expect a fix to this reasonably soon.

I did that already. It's not the duplicate app notifications from gvoice and messages. It's multiple texts.

On my AT&T S10+ Saturday it will not show in text messages Read or Sent Now. Have checked settings and Advanced Messaging is still On. So must be an AT&T problem with Update???
What messages app are you using? Stock Samsung or Google Messages?
Stock Samsung that comes on phone as Always
My S10+ stopped doing it after like the September update. I thought AT&T had just turned it off or stopped using it.
Mine shows sent briefly after sending, but i have never seen read before.
