If the "cheap feel" of the GN10.1 bothered you you are going to REALLY hate the GN2. It is a quality piece of tech but feels very light and plasticky. Honestly you will probably put a case on it anyway so who cares, but its not going to win any "look and feel" awards.
You gotta love Samsung - "Looks like hell, works like heaven".

I'm waiting for the 1 inch Note IV that I can wear like a watch
I don't see the need for a Note 6.5 inch. Too small too take serious notes but too big to carry like a phone. Kind of a nothing burger.
No possible way for 6.5 inch note, unless it replaces or is offset of their 7" tabs.

Well theres a market for a Note phone, tablet, probably 7" too, but i dunno about holding 6.3" phone to my head, nor 10.1 phone. Tablet sure, but....i understand they think if they can take the bezel away, but not as a phone. We are approaching the limit.
My wife has a NoteII, and it's a great phone. If I could find a practical way to carry it (too big for a belt case) , I would get one in a heartbeat. To me the "look and feel" of NoteII is the same as Note10.1.
Just played with the Note II at the Sprint store. It is big enough to take notes on if you write small.

This is kinda about the note 2. To mods. I am not trying to sell or link to anything here on XDA. I just want some opinions.
So I want to trade my Note 10.1 for a New note 2. Does that seem okay? I know sometimes if people have an available upgrade through their carrier that you could probably get the phone for two or three hundred. So it would be a good deal I think. I think the hardest part will be finding someone that doesn't mind using up their upgrade. Anyway thoughts and commets welcome.
My phone has bit the dust and I dont really have money to use for a phone so thats the only reason for the question

Should this be in another forum? LOL, but anyway, got my note 2, love every moment of it, and now my note 10.1 feels relatively choppy. Hopefully jelly bean (whenever it gets to me officially) will solve it.
Getting a Note II today...Fed Ex can't get here soon enough. I'm also in the market for a tablet and narrowed it down to the Note 10.1 or the Nexus 10. For those of you that have both Notes does it make sense or is it redundant?

But I got the galaxy note 10.1 AFTER my galaxy note 2. The galaxy note 2 is AMAZING! It's such a big upgrade to the original note. To be honest I don't really need the tablet but I felt having a bigger screen would be more productive. Im lucky my boyfriend decided to buy this as a Christmas present. The phone is definitely snappier. It just works how it should. Remember everything is optimised probably mostly for the phone . I feel the tablet could be a lot tighter but then again the note 2 does have jellybean. The screen is a lot nicer than the tablet but again higher ppi. If you replace the tablet you might miss the bigger screen to be honest. You can work with it, but it's still small for drawing. Probably note taking will be alright. I'll admit my phone is pretty much deals with everything I need. Definitely the smartest phone I've had.

My boyfriend was actually trying to put me off getting the tablet because he said it's just a bigger version of my phone. However, I've been using it a lot lately because I'm too lazy to use my laptop. I'm going to prove to him I'm going to use the galaxy note 10.1. I have wasn't sceptical about tablets as well but the bigger screen estate really does help. Particularly with split screen, and if I want to read magazines or manga. But it's up to you. I especially got the note because it's so cheap right now :3

Well, the fact there are 2 pages of comments in 2 days should tell you that GN10.1 owners are interested in discussing the GN2 as it relates to the GN10.1. Since they are sister devices this thread makes perfect sense. The mods get that.
With all the garbage repetitive threads in this forum, this one actually makes sense.

Question for those with the Note II and the GN10.1. Do you find the Note II real estate sufficient to take notes on the fly as you can with the GN10.1 or do you have to write so small that it becomes difficult?
It's been hard from me to try this out at the store as all of the Note II's have magnetic anti-theft devices attached which play hell with the pen input.
I suppose I could try writing really small on my GN10.1 to simulate the experience. Also I could write more often in landscape mode which would provide the same basic width as portrait mode with the 10.1.

So what do you guys think is a fair price for the note 10.1? Am trying to get a note 2. Just need some opinions. Thanks. I would rather just trade outright but if I cant i need to know a good price to ask?

I think i might get one. The Much i5 was actually a good product. I had one for a year, but it broke after somebody smashed it on the ground.
I'll probably buy it from a Chinese online store, and have a friend FedEx it over to me in the US.
The stores like willgoo always mark up the price a bit.

My only beefs so far are
- The size. Still way to big for me to consider practical (Another plus of a Flip design of Xperia Play)
- Lack of LTE radio. Once you are on LTE its hard to go back
Otherwise a great design from what I can tell. The other mentioned issues could be corrected with custom roms.
Probably not a buy for me but I hope they continue to iterate on the concept. AT LEAST SOMEONE is trying.

You certainly didn't read the article and just commented instead.
Funnily enough, both brands ended up sourcing their hardware from the same OEM, which is why 78point's P01 and Much's W1 are technically identical, with the exception of their Android 4.2 skins.

anyways, thanks for pointing out the fact that they are the same.
that's really big. wouldn't even consider that as a real phone. talking on the joystick doesn't look pleasing at all.
xperia play still the best gamer phone despite its age.
The problem with these "gaming" phones and phablets is that the expectations are so high but the reality is very different. This will definitely not be powerful enough to satisfy a hardcore android gamer, such as most people with who currently have or have had an Xperia Play.
Until they move away from the MediaTek hardware they just cant justify that price for a device that can only flawlessly play emulated games. Don't get me wrong, I am an advocate of chinese gaming devices. I loved my Much i5, and I still have a JXD S7300B, but they just weren't powerful enough for what I needed, even the much anticipated S7800B which was also disappointing. I could only play Asphalt 8 on medium when I got my Much i5, but the game deserves all its visual glory. Most emulators work fine on the PLAY, so not really any need to upgrade. Since I got my shield I haven't really looked at these devices that much since, and with a Shield going for around £150 or so often on ebay, these phones need to be special. Now if the Xiaomi Mi3 (tegra 4) actually had gaming controls I would be all over that!!

When I posted this thread I must admit I was in a hurry and didn't take the the time like I should have to find that thread and post there. Although I like the look of the phones controls. It is a good size device. Guess if we are all looking for an alternative the nvidia shield would be a good choice. Even now my gaming setup since selling my play is my Nexus 5 and a Moga Hero. Although I love the N5 and the Moga Hero. It is not anywhere near as convenient at the Play is/was.
My xperia play got its flex broken for the second time (1 time screen also broke ) i ordered the new flex and i'm waiting for it to arrive...
I really love my xperia play but this flex issue has gotten me very sad and for the first time i'm seriously thinking about changing it... and to the moment i'm almost completely sure that it will be for this new Chinese phone.
I like the specs and the controls. Maybe a bit big but i think its just a matter of getting used to.
I believe this phone to be the first real xperia play alternative.
After i fix my xperia play again i will make my decision and if purchased either the 78point P01 or much w1. I will be informing this beloved sanctuary of information about my experience in this sad xperia play alternative replacement :silly:

Most Chinese sellers offer free shipping to anywhere so that's not a problem.
The problem is no guarantee.. but anyway that's how i bought my xperia play from eBay so that's not much of a problem its more a luck factor
About the review yea its best to wait a little bit and also wait for it to get a little cheaper (would be good) lol

I know that the two phones have the same guts. But i am interested in the different layouts of their respective android skins. I have used both Much i5 and the JXD 7300C. And the Much device implemented the system abd UI better, but still left out a joystick driver. They also were better with updates, but all the info about them was chinese only.
I have no idea about this 78point company though. Wonder if the UI will be the same as the MUCH system, and if they have a joystick driver that can be read or implemented easily into games.
I plan on buying one in November. Hopefully Deen0X gets one before i do.
My i5 was still one of my favourite devices that I have owned. I loved the UI, the fact that it was different yet felt polished still. And using the inbuilt mapper I had no issues with any games whatsoever, so the makers of the Much devices (ireadygo? MagicMedia?) have my vote definitely.
Have put in my order for the 78p01 on aliexpress.com it should be arriving in the coming weeks. Excited.

The ONLY reason to even have a 5T at this point is for the new 600mhz band 71 support and they haven't said they are interested in that. Not to mention, you won't even need that support till second half of next year at the earliest unless you live in the 4 or 5 back woods areas they are launching by the end of the year. Which then means they will just wait till the OP6 to include that support.
Saw that article earlier. It even says that OnePlus did not officially confirm anything.
They just said their source, which is usually right, said OnePlus is preparing to launch a 5T.
The article also showed a low quality render of a supposed 5T and it looked a lot like the S8.
Anyway, I think it was a bunch of crap and the writers know it, which is why they probably took the article down.
There's absolutely no reason to launch a new device with a bigger screen and same specs months later. You either launch them together (like Samsung and Google do) or not at all.
That render is the OPPO F5 (right down to the lock screen).

That's the OPPO F5.... don't share misinformation. It's just likely that the Oneplus 6 when Snapdragon 845 comes out will have the same design. That's just about it.
If I told you that there was 80% chance of rain, would you be willing to bet that it wouldn't rain. Look at OnePlus' track record. they had the two, shortly after that the OP X, then came the three, followed a few months later by 3T and then the 5. As they have done previously before announcing a new phone, they list the current device as out of stock, which is how it listed now on the website. So you tell me that they are not trying to cash in on the Chistmas shopping season with a new device. They have done this before and unless you live in denial would understand this is how OnePlus operates.
Look, there might be a new phone coming. But it certainly isn't "official."
Maybe they'll release a 5T with a larger screen. Maybe they'll release a 6 with the Snapdragon 845. In fact, we can all agree a 5T/6 is coming, the only question is when.
But it certainly is not official. Do you seriously not know what the word means?
But all of those phones had different hardware. Even if just slightly.
The supposed 5T will feature the same hardware as the 5. The only difference will be the screen and perhaps the battery. This supposed 5T will be the OnePlus equivalent of an S8+ or the Pixel 2 XL.
And unless this supposed 5T features water resistance and a better camera, it won't be much better than the 5 either. Which translates to average sales.

Let OnePlus do the talking for themselves. They're usually good about releasing teasers and the like anyway. We are not getting a new phone this December and that's fine. There's not even a new Snapdragon to upgrade to. Please look at the signs especially before trusting gizmochina.

Can you pleas post a video and/or some pics. Lte service is the only reason I have not pulled the trigger on buy g the honor Note 10. Also what part of the US are you located. That makes a difference in LTE service.

I got a 2nd device for mobile gaming and what not, and this is the BEST performance, with as close to tablet-like screen size in the Android mobile market today. I wanted an 8" tablet as I am getting old and don't like playing games on a small screen any more.
However, no 8" Android tablets with bleeding-edge specs exist on the market today So I had to get creative and go for a large phone instead. I started off with the Nvidia Shield Tablet in April of this year, but realized quickly that it was getting old, despite getting a tablet in great condition. It didn't even handle Mobile Legends without skipping frames.
Then I got a Huawei Mediapad M5 (June-July 2018) -- and that was fine, managed to Root it before the bootloader Lock thing by Huawei, but I didn't like the fact that the Kirin 960 would be outdated in about a year to 2 years time (it's almost a 2 year-old chipset now)
Finally the Honor Note 10 was announced on the LAST DAY of July and almost the LAST day that I could return the Mediapad M5! I was in love <3 at first sight! Lol
SO here's a couple shots of my beaut today. I got her last night. Love that BLUE BABY! The GAMES on this phone ARE IMMERSIVE!! It's so fantastic, I love playing every Android Game I can get my hands on. It feels so much bigger than a 5.7" screen, it's INCREDIBLE!
Hope everyone is enjoying there phones!
One thing I do wish though ... that it had more 4G Spectrum BANDS for the USA in order to work. I can get AT&T 4G, but that's the only carrier here that 4G will work on. Just to enlighten everyone.

I am in 2 minds, the honor note 8 which I have had terrible problem of not showing notifications unless the app has a widget enabled or the app is open. Changing all the settings in the world didn't make any difference.
Only the removal of phone manager fixed the problem temporarily but an update soon brought it back.
Does the note 10 suffer from the same fate of over zealous app closing to extend battery life or has sense finally prevailed?
To me a smartphone without notifications working correctly is a dumb phone.

With the Honor Note 8, this would only be an issue if you didn't use the app for a long while, apps you use on a regular basis wouldn't be an issue, I'm assuming it'll be the same with the Honor Note 10 as it'll close apps down if they're not used. Disclaimer, I'm still waiting for my Note 10 to arrive so I can't say for certain.
Pending a gamechanging Camera update I don't know how a rational saavy smartphone man can keep the S20 Ultra.
I have the Note 10+ btw.
5G is ok. About the 15% improvement on T-Mobile projected here in Chicago Il .
The increased Mgz refresh doesn't tip the scales either.
Want the full camera functionality.

Agree. The problem for some of us is that Samsung is screwing around by trying to charge double the retail value for the pre-order accessories. As it stands now my accessories have not even shipped yet. I have 10 more days to return the phone. If I return it now, Samsung is charging two times retail for the accessories so the $870 I paid gets cut in half to 400 and change.
They will not send out a replacement device or allow me to ship this back so that they can fix what is broken. aside from the autofocus issues people are having, my video looks like the person recording it is on crack. Even on a tripod fully stabilized the video jitters worse than I've ever seen.
So I'm a bit SOL at the moment. Otherwise fully agree with you; I can't believe they would release such a crap product....not to mention one that costs $1.4k!!

So i this point, this is just another pointless thread that i hope mod would close just like the other one.
I guess different strokes, man. I'm coming from an S10+ to S20 Ultra and no way I'd go back! So many improvements, OS speed and screen are amazing, as is 120Hz refresh rate, battery life is also great for me.
Everyone knows TMo 5G is garbage, no surprise there.
It's a brand new product, as with all of them, they'll release some updates to improve things, including the camera, I'm sure.
But hey, if it's not doing anything for you over your S10+, save your cash and do something else with it you'll enjoy.

Samsung is charging 2x retail for the pre order accessories.
If I return the phone as is, (having not received the accessories yet) they will refund me $470.
I paid $870 for the phone (trade in discount).
Instead of taking off the $200 value of accessories (and refunding me $670) they are doubling the cost, making it $400.
It shouldn't be so complicated to understand

Nope. I spent two hours today doing side by side comparison of my s10+ and the video on the ultra has serious and noticable issues..autofocus constantly hunting and random full-frame jitters every few seconds. People who don't notice it are either blind or maybe they don't care about watching videos on a normal (not 6") screen..
Yes the dynamic range is better but what's the point when the end result is near unwatchable and *measurably* worse than last gen?
Someone said that the global launch or release for the phone is March 13th and that they were expecting Samsung to have an update out by that time, but who knows whether or not it will actually happen.

I saw a post somewhere a guy said his ultra had more issues than his wife's ultra. It is possible OP received a worse one.

Samsung isn't allowing you to return the accessories too? I feel that can't be legal.
Hey it is still time till official release. I am also disappointed but call me stupid, I have faith in them. History shows that they can even recall and fix stuff. That is a positive for me instead of such things like "you holding your phone wrong".

Return it if you want, it's that simple. I like the phone enough, I'm keeping it. It's your decision whether something is worth it or not, and if it's not to you then return it. Don't sit here complaining until your return window is missed, and then continue complaining because you're "stuck" with something no one forced you to buy or forced you to keep.
I'm holding on to mine,yes the Camera is the big topic here but July is not that far off and the Note 20 will be announced and I'm pretty sure it will be a more fine tuned S20 Ultra with a better display and an even more updated S-pen,so trade in the Ultra get at least $700 if not more depending on price increase of Note 20 series and move on to the next level of trial and error.

When the Note has a full screen and selfie cam built into the s-pen with the ability to take pics and video on its own I'm buying it and don't care what it costs!

They're charging you retail price, there is no way they are charging you more.
Where did they say they will refund $470? Because something isn't right here, and I have to assume it's miscommunication.

There's more than one report out there of discrepancies in performance between different phones. Have you considered perhaps that Samsung has a quality control issue on this phone, rather than you simply having superior eyesight?

I sent my Ultra back yesterday and ordered an S20+. I liked almost everything about it. I took good pics with the camera which was my deciding factor. Great display, great battery, but it was too big and heavy for me, especially the thickness combined with that huge camera bump. I had gray so the bump was very obvious too. I like big, never thought I'd see a phone that was too big but you have to see and hold this guy to appreciate it's heft. I think Samsung nailed it with these phones, you just need to find the one that suits you.
I have the same doubts since a couple of days, i still don't have the Ultra it comes this Friday the 13th (the horror) anyway the Mi 10 Pro / Oppo Find X2 seem better for the price. The Ultra really needs to be head and shoulders above the rest for the price.

I think you missed a word or two.
I do are though, you just need to find the phone that works for you, if the Ultra isn't that phone, okay then, return it and move on to find the right phone. People who bash a phone because it didn't work for them are wasting their time and everyone else's.
