Hello,
with a nexus 4, can i open it and remove the accu, that i can connect it to a extern power supply and it is possible to connect it to a HDMI Cabel instead of the touchscreen?
Thank for your reply.
I think the balancer or bms shout inside the accu, so if i now the power +/- pins i should can conect a extern power supply. Or is there any security safes? And if i now know the data/picture pins of the display, i should can conect it to a hdmi Tv, or can be voltage/signal - pegel problems?

I recently got the HTC Shift and as we all know there is no build in DVD Super multi in it. I bought a Sony DVD Super multi from my friend and after connecting it to the USB port on the HTC. It detect the drive perfectly but whenever i try to run any CD or DVD the icon disappears from the My computer. I also tested connecting this Sony drive to my desktop and it is working fine there.??? any idea. i want to buy a new LD DVD Drive but not sure if it is going to work or not.
Solution: I purchased a new LG DVD Super multi that came with the external USB connector to give power to the DVD and as i tell i connected it to my desktop to give power through the USB to the DVD Super multi and finally it is working now and i am installing the WIN 7 now!!!!!!! HURRA PARTY TIME!!!!!!!!
Not enough power.
As far as I understand, there's not enough power going through the usb hub to power the dvd drive. You need an external power supply.
If you're using the hub/lan device that came with the shift, there's a mini usb jack in there which can take a 5v current. That means that you need to get a power adapter that has a usb mini output. I use my Touch HD charger to power the hub if there's anything that normally needs more power from the shift.
I hope that helps.

I faced the same problem when connecting two ext. HDD or flash USBs but I never thought of the mini USB powering idea...

Ok, i got the cable that can give power from the USB port. I am planning to give the power to the DVD rom from my desktop.... is this may help?
Hi, I solved same Problem with external USB-HDD and external USB-DVD with an external USB Hub that has a Power Supply.
But so, there is not every time a external CDROM/USB-HDD or Power Supply on my travel sides, so I modify a USB-Stick with 4GB Space to boot and install Windows from them..
see the small and easy programm:
winsetupfromusb
http://www.msfn.org/board/install-USB-WinSetupF-t120444.html
if you have little time more, you can insert all needed drivers before you
make winsetupfromusb with Nlite...

Does anyone know if both the wifi 7" and 10.1" can share the same power adapter and cable ?

Mouse should be fine, but an xbox 360 controller is rated at 400mA of current draw officially and hard disks regularly peak at 500mA or more, the miix is only rated for 100mA on its USB. You need a mains powered USB hub inbetween tablet and device if you are going to use big power hungry devices like that, or one of those USB cables with split data and power connections and put the power connection to a mains adaptor or battery pack (you can buy battery packs with USB ports for charging phones).
Sound I have no idea.
Does the normal windows update facility not serve your needs? Just check back every few days.
Pressing the power button depending on power plan is putting your device to sleep or hibernate, all CPU activity is suspended in both of these modes.

I haven't seen an OTG cable with it integrated, but there is no reason why you couldnt use this with your existing OTG cable:
http://www.newtech.cat/w/en/1473-USB-2-0-Cable-Double-Power-Injector--2xAM-AH--1-2m.html
On this cable there is 1 USB socket and 2 USB plugs. The black plug is a normal USB data connection which would normally plug into a laptop or something, you would simply stick that in the OTG cable, the white plug is wired for power only, this would go into anything capable of supplying 5v in a normal USB connector whether that be one of the wall adaptors supplied for charging phones or something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Additions®-Battery-Extender-Batteries/dp/B002PHC1XU
Hello guys, I'm trying to interface android tab with peripherals. Problem is, it is having only one micro USB port which is used for charging and otg/host, only one function is possible at a time .But I need to charge the tab and simultaneously transfer data to peripherals, say for example I need to use external mouse and charge the tab at same time.
So, is there any way to do it?
I know usb has 4 pins 5v,d+,d-,gnd. I thought to wire charging input power to tab pin 5v and gnd and pin D+,D-of tab to mouse D+, D- and giving external power supply to 5v and gnd pin of mouse.
Is this a right method? To charge and transfer the data at the same time?
Kindly help me. Suggest a better way to do it.
(mini & micro) USB connectors have 5 pins: Vbus, D-, D+, Id, Gnd.
For OTG, the Id pin is connected to Gnd.
It's like the old adage, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
You can connect a peripheral to an OTG host and have it work fine.
You can then connect an external power supply across the Vbus and Gnd.
The problem is, how does your host device know that it can "drink"?
There are basically two ways.
If the host detects power on its input before it switches into OTG host mode it may continue to charge.
If the host is in OTG host mode, device-specific commands to the charging circuits may convince it to charge.
There may also be non-standard Id resistor values for signalling host & charge for some devices.
I think your mileage would vary very much depending on what devices your using. AOS was not meant to deal with people hacking on the USB port, and probably the code to implement those features depend on your HW/FW.
If its a Samsung, you can play with some resistor values like these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25532839&postcount=2
I think the USB "CarKit" specifications should allow you both to charge and "connect" in some way.
A more easy solution would be to use a BlueTooth mouse and keep charging as usual.
Hi.
I'm reading contradicting information regarding MHL for the Note 4.
Can I get HDMI out without external power?
Some adapter say S4 and above can power the adapter (11 pin) without external power other say external USB power is required.
Also I'm not interested in paying $70 for an official Samsung Adapter, I want an ebay special... I just need 720p out but I can supply 5v.
Thanks.
why dont you just get a netgear ptv3000. works great and is completely wireless.
Bcos that's TOTALLY useless for my application.

If you're connecting to a TV, I found out a while ago that it depends on the TV and the adapter.
Some adapters have to have external USB power to work.
Other adapters can be powered directly through the HDMI cable but that depends on if the TV supports that feature, if it doesn't then you have to use the external USB power (You can use a spare USB port on the TV).
I hope this Helps
It's for a mobile solution, Video Transmitter which only accepts HDMI v1.4.
Do you know which MHL adapters don't require external power, or is it a cable/phone thing? I could get external 5v, but then I'd need a BEC or another battery.

The Note 4 has MHL v3; has anyone successfully connected it to an HDMI source without external 5v with an ebay cable? If so which one?
Thanks.
