Does anyone know if both the wifi 7" and 10.1" can share the same power adapter and cable ?
Yes, I am still using my Gtab7 power and cable.

What is the difference? Is the power source for the second one used to power supply the phone to extend video play time?
Thanks.

MHL/HDMI Adaptor for Samsung Galaxy S4 S3 Note 2 - comes with usb cable to plug into power source (generally the TV itself) as well as the HDMI adaptor to plug into the TV.
Samsung ET-H10FAUWESTA Micro USB to HDMI 1080P HDTV Adapter Cable for Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 and Note 2- White - doesn't supply the usb cable to connect to the TV BUT still needs it. It uses a micro USB to USB cable - the same that you use to connect to a PC or your charger... You also needa HDMI cable to plug into the box and TV...
Other than that it's just price...
aha, If I understand correctly, the first one is a complete set that usb/hdmi connected to tv and micro usb to phone.
The second one, i will need to have another usb2micro cable.
Dammed it, from the description of the product, seems like the one with more options. Indeed it is not.
Thanks for clarify it.

Its always good to do a little searching on these things, here's a link to the 2nd adaptor again at almost half the price of the one you linked to - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-HDTV-Adapter/dp/B00BTCPQ5C/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_1
And here's your link - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-ET-...Micro+USB+to+HDMI+1080P+HDTV+Adapter+Cable+s4
Can you spot the difference?
The difference is that the product in my link got no buyer
thanks for the information. Likely I will go for cable solution

Hi.
I'm reading contradicting information regarding MHL for the Note 4.
Can I get HDMI out without external power?
Some adapter say S4 and above can power the adapter (11 pin) without external power other say external USB power is required.
Also I'm not interested in paying $70 for an official Samsung Adapter, I want an ebay special... I just need 720p out but I can supply 5v.
Thanks.
why dont you just get a netgear ptv3000. works great and is completely wireless.
Bcos that's TOTALLY useless for my application.

If you're connecting to a TV, I found out a while ago that it depends on the TV and the adapter.
Some adapters have to have external USB power to work.
Other adapters can be powered directly through the HDMI cable but that depends on if the TV supports that feature, if it doesn't then you have to use the external USB power (You can use a spare USB port on the TV).
I hope this Helps
It's for a mobile solution, Video Transmitter which only accepts HDMI v1.4.
Do you know which MHL adapters don't require external power, or is it a cable/phone thing? I could get external 5v, but then I'd need a BEC or another battery.

The Note 4 has MHL v3; has anyone successfully connected it to an HDMI source without external 5v with an ebay cable? If so which one?
Thanks.
First, my apologies if this isn't the proper place for this thread. Please point me in the right direction.
I have an in-dash Nexus 7 solution using an OTG cable and a powered USB hub. My issue is the damn USB devices connected to the hub suck the life out of the N7 when power is turned off to the hub and OTG connected charger. I attempted to mitigate this by splicing a 1N4001 diode on the power side of the OTG cable but not luck. The N7 charges properly but the USB devices still show power when the power is turned off to the USB hub.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm installing a 2013 Nexus 7 into my car. I plan to load Timur's ROM on it. I have an OTG cable. I've also purchase a USB Y cable and a USB hub which i'm waiting to be delivered. Will a USB Y cable separate power and data? meaning will one USB port have power and the other data? seeing as I want to connect the data to a USB hub, the hub itself will need 5V power too.
I've sketched up a little idea which is attached below. Can anyone tell me if such a thing will work?
The idea is to have +12v ignition wire and ground from the car going to a 12v > 5v converter. The output of that converter will then provide charging power to the Nexus via the + and ground wires on the OTG cable. This leaves the + and - data cables untouched. Then the idea is to take the + and - data cables directly to the USB hub. And seeing as the USB hub also requires 5V power through its main feed USB, i can provide the same 5V power thats coming from the 12v > 5v converter.
This is just an idea, not sure if it will actually work. Other thing I can do i just stick with the Y usb cable.
Any suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Using active USB hub with +5V You do not need Y-cable, just standard OTG cable.
I'm using this config with ElementalX kernel with N7 as external navigator/videoreg.
I'd suggest to browse through "InDashboard install" threads in "N7 2013 -> General" board for other tips and tricks.
Hello,
with a nexus 4, can i open it and remove the accu, that i can connect it to a extern power supply and it is possible to connect it to a HDMI Cabel instead of the touchscreen?
Thank for your reply.
I think the balancer or bms shout inside the accu, so if i now the power +/- pins i should can conect a extern power supply. Or is there any security safes? And if i now know the data/picture pins of the display, i should can conect it to a hdmi Tv, or can be voltage/signal - pegel problems?
