Hi All,
I have my phone in an otterbox defender and when it is in the holster I can't feel it vibrate when a call or text comes in. My old s3 was fine with an otterbox but this one isn't. Nothing has been done to the phone (stock no root) did a factory reset tonight. You can feel it vibrate if your holding it or it is on the desk. Anyone encounter this and if so did you figure a way to fix it? Vibration setting is at max btw......
The phone us surrounded by high shock resistant rubber and plastic. Take that into account and the fact that the case is designed with newer materials... Basically it keeps vibrations down...

I'm not using a case at all, and I can barely feel the vibrate on the S4. I've missed calls and texts because of how weak the vibrate is on this thing.
I have it turned up to just under 75% (in Cyanogenmod) and it's pretty weak.
Does anyone experience the Air Wake Up function not always working? I made sure the sensors are clean and no screen protector on them.
Sometimes I have to wave or cover the phone several times to turn on the screen. I did this slowly but still. I think I also had this issue with my Note 2. Do you think it's the software or hardware issue?
Thank you,
HL
I don't use air wake now but I did for awhile and it's always worked for me. I have a screen protector in but it's a Zagg with cutouts. I would guess hardware... But don't quote me on that

Just curious, I bought a water proof case for my note 4 it's a "ghostek" brand, I got it on ebay...it works really good and everything, my only issue is the sensor that knows when my phone is up to my face doesn't seem to work. I'm sure it's an issue with the case and not the phone, but I'm just curious does anyone else have this or a similar case? Amd have u had this issue? Or is there a way to adjust that sensor?

I have owned my S7 Edge for a couple of months. But still cannot get used to the sensitivity of the screen edges. I can't hold the phone or use it without the folds of my hands touching the edge of screen and causing unwanted screen presses and activations. I find it almost impossible to use this device in one hand due to this.......
I was hoping that there might be a way to reduce or turnoff the screen edges sensitivity...... Does anyone have any suggestions.
And before anyone suggested a case, I don't want to use a case as that defeats the look of this phone IMHO.
Stock and UN rooted dual SIM.

I can't believe that I'm the only person to have this issue...... No-one got any advise about this?

The strange issue is when I'm not holding the phone (in it's cradle or sitting on my desk), the touch screen is almost dead. It takes 5-6 touches or a long press to register the touch. The strange part is when I hold the phone in my hand the sensitivity is normal (not all that sensitive but at least you can use it).
I do notice when it's out of my hands that if I touch the screen and hold anywhere with one finger and use another, It responds like normal. This makes it unbearable in the car.
I've tried the the pointer speed increase and the TSP firmware update also. But no luck.
I'm running the latest G935U rom PI3.
I've searched a lot and can't find anyone else with this same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just tried it on my S7 Edge and touch works well.
There's a sensor called "grip sensor/detector" in our devices. It knows when You hold Your phone and when You don't. Maybe some app on Your phone is using it and somehow messes up Your screen?
If it gets too annoying then take it back to Samsung and show them the issue. They should fix it.

Thanks for your response. That makes sense. I can't seem to find anyway to turn it off or at least modify the settings.
The only apps are the ones that come with the "U" firmware.
This might sound stupid, and if it doesn't apply to you I apologise.
But are you using a screen protector? Maybe this is inhibiting the sensitivity?
Just an idea

Not a stupid question. I forgot to mention it in the first post.
No screen protector of any kind.

I have the exact opposite problem. My screen is so sensitive that every time I pick up my phone an app on the edge of the screen opens. While holding the phone, if my palm just barely touch the screen, apps will open. I've had this phone since the first day it was released and had planned to buy a Note 7 because of my overly sensitive screen. I really like this phone, best I have ever owned but I'm really getting tired of this screen issue.

I read quite a few posts about that same problem. I started this thread because I hadn't seen anyone with the same issues that I'm having.
Have you tried "Pointer Speed Decrease" or the TSP firmware update. Also, have you tried one of those glass screen protectors?
Just a thought.

I think I remember trying that TSP thing a few months ago. I believe it doesn't work with the Verizon S7's. Changing pointer speed doesn't help. I do have a plastic film screen protector. It's hard to find a reliable glass protector which I prefer. Thanks for the suggestions anyway.
