I had the same doubt. I flashed paranoid android yesterday in my OPO2 and flashed benschholds kernel but it did not work. It got stuck on the oneplus logo. So, I guess there are no kernels which works on AOSPA as of yet as per my research. I even tried AK kernel but no luck.

[Q] Custom Recovery and Kernel's

I'm curious what everyone thinks the best Recovery is for the Razr M and what are the best kernels as far as functionality, battery life, and speed.
I haven't played around with installing custom kernels and ive been using the CWM recovery on my razr m and im currently running the AOKP custom ROM.
Dead Calm, arghhh kernel

I think cwm is better than twrp but I am prejudiced by having wiped my extSD in one of the newest versions. See my signature link for an older BETTER version.
I like TWRP 2.6.0 and I had been having great performance with Carbon ROM 1.8 running the arrrghhh kernel. Currently though I'm having issues running arrrghhh kernel with the Carbon ROM 4.3 nightly (runs smooth with the provided kernel) and yes I did use the CM 10.2 version. I'm sure this will sort it's self after a few more updates.
***edit***
as of 8/16/2013 the arrrghhh kernel and carbon rom nightlies now work together properly

When installing a custom kernal, do i have to take any special steps such as wipe dalvic etc..? Or simply just flash zip from cwrm?
Making a backup and wiping cache and dalvik are always a good idea.

You'll end up bootlooping if you don't flash paranoid android 4.0 before the kernel.

In the description it says "CM & PA Roms only!" stock is not considered CM or PA.. You have to flash a CM or PA ROM in order for the kernel to work. Like the other user above said, You will end up in a bootloop and you'll never get your phone to boot up with that kernel on stock. Flash either a Cyanogen Mod (CM) or Paranoid Android (PA) ROM first and then you can use that kernel.

Franco Kernel On CyanogenMod 12.1?

Hi,
I want to see if i can get Franco Kernel on my Nexus 4 running CyanogenMod 12.1. I tried using auto flash on the Franco Kernel app on the app store and it gave me a warning stating it might not work... Any suggestions whether it works or not? I don't want to ruin my phone
I tried this yesterday and my Nexus 4 was stuck in a bootloop after until I reflashed CM 12.1.
In short; no, don't do it.
There is two different types of Rom's and kernels. There is those that are based on AOSP and those who are based on CAF.
You can't mix different types of Rom's and kernels. So to you can't use a AOSP kernel on a CAF Rom and vice verca.
CM is a CAF based Rom and Franco kernel is an AOSP based kernel. So you can't use those together.

Can someone port Asus' stock kernel for CM12.1/RR based ROMs ?

As the title says. I switched to a custom stock ROM and started using the stock kernel with it, the stock kernel is so smooth, I fell in love with it. The performance wasn't the same in RR ROM. It provides the same battery backup as other kernels I have used..including quanganh's, X AnwarMov's and BORETS24's custom stock kernel. Can someone port the stock kernel for CM based ROMs ? Or is tank0412's custom kernel is what I'm asking for ?
Try this:
It a stock kernel which was ported to CM12.1/RR:

I'm using the US Cellular version which is the single SIM xt1607 and I've had no trouble unlocking boot loader and flashing twrp or any Rom, in stock Rom I was using xposed as well. Currently running axosp room with no issues.

Thank you bro. I previously used an MTK device and i know about flashing and rooting. But never used custom kernel. Can we use custom rom without any custom kernel? or is it necessary that i have to flash custom kernel for every custom rom?. Also give me links of bugless roms for our device?

I've been using the ASOPEtended Rom and have had no issues. Download can be found in the main Android development thread. As for custom kernels. I've been using squids kernel, but you can use the kernel built into the Rom with no issues

You flash the kernel just like the rom,I would flash the rom, then open gapps or bean gapps. Next I would flash supersu which you can find by doing a search of the forum, wipe dalvik cache, start finish setup then flash squid kernel. Also download kernel auditor from play store to get the most out of squid kernel. Helix kernel is another alternative based off squid kernel. Both squid and Helix allow you to change several options to improve battery life and performance.

Thank you bro. Installed Aospextended But there was a bug, camera and videos are stopping at a point. I flashed Helix kernel(Didn't tried squid kernel) then bug was gone, now everything is fine. I will try kernel auditor. Thanks for the guidance
