Hey,
That's my first post, so I'm hoping I'm not breaking any rules.
I am wondering if the Note 3 (specifically N9005) will receive anymore updates? (i.e 5.1.1, 6.0)
Thanks a lot,
Security updates maybe but update for 6.0 is not most likely gonna happen anymore.
Only Samsung know that answer.
Will XDA devs update probably as long as possible . Marshmallow available in development roms .
For reference questions go in Q&A section and search first is the rule .
Major updates (5.1, 6.0) officially - no.
Unofficially (custom ROMs) - already available.
Minor updates (security updates and maybe few tweaks here and there) - Some were released just few days ago, but for how long, no one knows.
Thanks for all your helpful replies!
i don't think so

No marshmallow for Note 3. This is how I remind how Samsung are stupid, because MM ROM work so great.
indeed,mm is running perfectly on the note 3,only NFC isnt present....
From Samsung we have no upgrades or updates to expect, very pitty, makes me a little angry!!
This is why my next phone won't be from Samsung. There is no other reason for not receiving mm than planned obsolescence

Engadget China is reporting that the Chinese version is receiving the 4.2.2 update and that it gets rid of the menu bar and add battery percentage as we already knew. Here's hoping the unlocked versions will be getting the update very soon now.
Apologies to the non-Chinese readers,

Everyone was expecting this, Official Update released for Samsung Galaxy Note 2:
2015 July Italy 4.4.2 N7100XXUFOE1 N7100ITVFOF1
But this is not Lollipop but kitkat, adding few new apps and some stability corrections and security issues, nothing else.
Edit
Apparently they updated some of the based Google apps to the latest ones, here what a user says:
- Installed from Odin, after a fullwipe, they updated every Google app to the latest versions (those of the previous firmware were in fact older more than one year), and they added applications Samsung Music, Expo 2015 and mySamsung.
For the rest I give it a quick look, but I think it is the same one, there are probably bug fixes and improvements in performance, but I will talk about in a few days, once tested for real

Sorry, its working on my phone's browser and my laptop's browser, I don't use the XDA app much anymore, it's easier for meto just use a web browser, even on my phone. If you go to the Tab 4 General section, I was talking about my thread there, titled [LINKS][FIRMWARE] Tab 4 Official Lollipop 5.x Firmware Collection All Models [ODIN]
As I said, as soon as that update is released, it will be up on my thread

In light of the emerging Vault 7 dumps, I have begun to wonder if any of the CIA's leaked Android tools could be used to gain or exploit root access/ allow a custom boot loader to be installed on the AT&T G5. If anyone with programming know-how would look into this I'm sure many of us would be interested in any possibilities that might emerge from this avenue.

I will grab a look.. maybe I could end up with some info .
BTW - anyone tried requesting AT&T to release the flashabe version for LG G5?

Yes, I have been asking them for months. I just reminded them we're still waiting last week.
So far, AT&T's employees have been less than accommodating on this front. Some of them have given deceptive answers/ or appear to be unknowledgeable as to the nature of flashing a device.
Hi everyone guys,
I can't seem to find another similar thread, so I opened this one.
I will explain what is going on.
One month ago I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S8, it was branded Vodafone, infact I had many apps from them.
Because I am with Three and I was tired of that annoying Vodafone apps, I decided to install a NO BRANDED stock ROM (OFFICIAL).
So I did, but today I compared some specifics with the ones of a friend of mine which has the same phone (NO BRAND - STOCK ROM).
As you can see from the pictures I left: Band Base, Kernel, Build Version and Android Security Patch Level are different.
I also checked the last updates for both of the phones, they are updated at the last versions, although they have different "values".
Those are my s8 infos:

}
Those are my friend's S8 infos:
Can someone help me with this giving me some detailed info? I'm going mad.
Thank you in advance!

It just takes time for the carriers to release the updates. And with unbranded it takes time for samsung to push the update to everyone. it goes by IMEI.
Nothing to worry about.
