~~~~~~~~SOLVED~~~~~~~~~
Hello guyz. I upgraded to android 6.0 yesterday and then flashed the TWRP recovery. Made the backup of stock 6.0 from it and then flashed RR ROM. During setup I formatted my ext SD as internal and whole of my data including the nandroid backup of stock got deleted...
So, if I want to roll back to stock, what should I do?
I tried formatting entire system, data, cache from twrp and then flashing stock recovery and boot img by sziraqui and then flashing update.zip (MM) on stock recovery but it got stuck on verifying update zip.
It would be great if someone could help me out in flashing stock 6.0.
I have following zip files-
Flash 1.17.1531 first. Let it boot to system at least once. Then flash MM ota
Thanks for your constant help mate.
But won't it be downgrade since I already upgraded my bootloader to MM leading to chances of brick?
Thanks
No, it won't brick. Stock recovery will take care of the bootloader
Thanks @sziraqui for your help mate. It worked. [emoji41] [emoji41]
I asked this questions in other threads, but i received literally opposite answers, so i decided to make a thread and explain my situation.
I am a noob and i installed twrp recovery and sabermod rom,before installing sabermod i made a nandroid backup of stock 4.2.2 rom,as you all know android 4.3 will be released soon,and i got some question:
1)If i restore my backup of stock 4.2.2 will i be able to update via OTA even if i have twrp recovery ?If yes will all be updated ? (radio,bootloader,rom ecc. ) and will i keep my custom recovery ?
2)If the answer to the first question is no ( i won't be able to update via OTA with twrp recovery) how can i update to 4.3 when it will be released?
A nandroid backup does not restore the bootloader or radio. Only system, data, and boot.
If no other modifications are made the ota will go through with a custom recovery.
Yes i know that a nandroid backup doesn't restore bootoader and radio, my question was if an OTA will update bootloader and radio in addition to the rom, i guess yes right ?
In your thread i think to be in scenario 2, so i need to flash the ota via custom recovery instead of getting automatically updated like in stock rom ?
If the ota has a new bootloader and radio it will as long as your have the up-to-date versions installed.
you have made alterations to your phone so its not longer stock. the file you are flashing is for a stock rom and to be flashed in a stock recovery. to flash the update simply re-flash a stock recovery and allow the update to go through. you can also simply wait and flash an updated custom stock rom.
Edit: link deleted....may confuse you
Edit2: Using the toolkits you should be able to find the stock recovery image and flash it back
Hello, today i received the 5.1 ota for my nexus 4 (android 5.0.1 rooted/stock kernel/twrp recovery)
But update.zip cannot be flashed and i get an error telling me: Package expects build fingerprint of google occam mako 5.0.1 or 5.1 user/release-keys. This device has occam/mako 4.3.
I dont want to flash 5.1 manually (i know how to do it).
Thanks in advance
This is because you are using a custom recovery. OTA update will never work if you are using a custom recovery. Meaning you have to be completely stock to receive the ota update.
I downloaded and flashed stock recovery. I ll try again.
It still gives me an error.
I hope it will help you, too.
Regards.
Thank you guys for your advices. Yes i was completely stock and rooted. I flashed 5.1 using pc because i couldn't find what was going on.
How do I get out of it and install rom
Thank Yossi
Using Odin
Can you access Download mode?
If so, then install stock firmware on your phone using Odin.
Other solutions can be flashing a custom recovery via Odin too. I recommend flashing stock firmware for complete fix.
Can't root if you are on the official lollipop update, needed to be on KitKat rooted to be able tp, so that cuts your answer short as root would be needed for the rest.
Ok so how would I roll back to 4.4.2 kit Kat? Is there a way to do that? My phone won't update to 5.1.1 or whatever and I can't root on 5.0 at this point I'm stuck. Can't find the necessary tar to or direction to do either at this point. Thanks for any help. I'm still searching for answers lol
Flashed ne4 kernel and now s5 active only boots to recovery
Tried flashing full G870AUCU1ANE4 via Odin...fail fail fail.
Flashed just NE4 kernel and now stuck in recovery. Was running lollipop when this all started.
Anybody have any suggestions what to do next?
Hey guys and gals. I have my old g2 that I rarely use anymore, but want to tinker with. My problem is that any LP or MM aosp ROMs won't fully boot. They all just bootloop forever. I've tried different versions of twrp. I've tried just about every bootstack. I've followed flashing instructions to the letter. It's currently running serenity 5.0.2 because stock based seems to take fine, and serenity is relatively debloated. I should add, the laptop fried a few weeks ago, so I'm trying to figure this out via mobile only. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm at a loss here.
