Hotspot "Quick Settings" shortcut can turn hotspot off; not on. - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My "Quick Settings" has a item for the hotspot function. When my hotspot is not running, tapping it does nothing. When my hotspot is running, tapping it turns off the hotspot. Huh? Surely this isn't the way that it's supposed to work.

not how it works for me. tapping it will toggle it to the opposite state to which the button is currently in.
IE: hotspot off, tapping turns on. hotspot on, tapping turns off

[Q] Is my WiFi always on?

I'm starting to second guess my self here and thinking I've been reading the battery stats all wrong this whole time. The WiFi bar is consistently full and blue when my WiFi is off. Does this mean my WiFi is always on?

Yes it is. Go to the wifi settings and change "Scanning always available"

[Q] Annoying 4G/WIFI notifications after KitKat

Ever since I updated to KitKat, I get these notifications whenever I turn on/off wifi or my data.
I do this everyday when I get to work because the signal is bad in the building.
I use the quick toggle in the notifications bar, and then this asks you again if you want to turn it off.
Is there anyway to turn this off?
Carrier is verizon if that matters.
Thanks

Yes you can. Pull down the top bar (where you can turn on/off wifi), under the wifi logo there is an option to turn it on and off. I don't know what its called, but it has a weird description. Good luck
I will try thanks for your help
Floating bar, in extra settings.
