I currently have a nexus q hooked up to my tv through the HDMI cable. I have a sound system I want to run the Q through to maximize sound quality. However, despite switching inputs its still coming through the tv speakers. I bought an optical cable thinking if I ran that too it would pick the sound through the receiver. Still no luck and only playing sound through the tv speakers. Suggestions? What am I missing?

Any note 2 owners out there who can compare the audio quality of the s4 vs the note 2 i9505?
I'm not so sure but I'd put the s4 slightly ahead, I wanna know what you guys think.
Curious also if the stock android music player inferior to samsung music player when it comes to audio quality?

I have both devices.
Note 2 having better sound donno why, but S4 plays well when you play songs in Stock Music Player.
Call me crazy but it's been driving me nuts! I still can't tell which is better
Hello all,
The title pretty much sums it up.
I recently broke my N7's(2012) headphone jack, but i still wish to watch movies and videos off it with audio.
Seeing that the audio jack is out of the question, is there any way i can stream audio off my Nexus 7 on to another android phone like the Nexus 4 using Bluetooth or some other wireless way?
Thanks in advance,
BTW: Replacing the I/O ribbon is far too expensive. The prices on ebay range from 40-50 dollars and all the online stores i looked at don't stock them anymore.
I am currently running AOKP 4.4 latest nightly 2-16 with Franco R16. I am using a microHDMI to HDMI connected to the normal HDMI to HDMI to the TV. I have used this before with previous Android versions 4.2 & 4.3 and it worked well. I just tried this with AOKP Kitkat and had video but did not get any audio. I tried a few things from searches through the internet but to no avail.
Is anyone using Kitkat and get HDMI video and audio out? If so, what are you using, did you have any problems and how did you fix them?

Thank you. I tried that and even swapped cables, but it did not help. What ROM are you running?
Im just running stock.
Are you using a Panasonic TV? There seems to be a known problem on those with sound from the N10.
No, I have a Sony Bravia 55"
Bumping the thread to see if anyone else is having issues?
Huh I have this issue too

Your signature states Nexus 10 on latest stock. Is that still accurate?

It was the panasonic tv. I tried other devices and the audio works

I have the same problem on my Nexus 10 using stock kitkat and a Sony Bravia 37" TV.
I can get picture and sound from my Note 3 on kitkat using a Samsung Note 2 media dock which has an HDMI output and I'm thinking about buying an HDMI splitter with a built-in amplifier to see if that works on the Nexus 10.
I'm also able to take the output from the Nexus 10 headphone jack and input that into an amplifer and get sound.
I've started a thread to see if anyone has tried a splitter.

Yes , Maybe you can try to use an hdmi splitter . Last year. I have same trouble with you. At last , I got an splitter from www.hdgenius.com , Finally it is OK. So you can try to do it.
