Silly audio question. - Nexus Q Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently have a nexus q hooked up to my tv through the HDMI cable. I have a sound system I want to run the Q through to maximize sound quality. However, despite switching inputs its still coming through the tv speakers. I bought an optical cable thinking if I ran that too it would pick the sound through the receiver. Still no luck and only playing sound through the tv speakers. Suggestions? What am I missing?

Bluetooth streaming quality?

Seeing as NYC just made it so that if you're caught using a cellphone you get 2 points on your license I plan on buying the bluetooth stereo adapter for my car stereo, a JVC KD-HDR40, but as curious to see how the quality is with others that stream music using their Evos.
If it matters, I'm running CM6.1.2.
I use the BT motorola hd stereo headphones and they sound excellent, tremendous bass.
Try cm7 , it has a great eq/settings to customize the sound
So to answer the question, yes the streaming, quality is great imho.

[Q]Will the Ouya support regular AV-out in addition to HDMI?

Since the Ouya only has Ethernet, AC, USB and HDMI. Will it be possible to connect to a standard TV by RCA connector or by a scart?AV? VGA? Composite?
Hi, so far the Ouya isn't known to produce analog video signals, only digital (via the HDMI out) thus, to use it with a analog tv you would either need a video amplifier (with HDMI in and AV-Out) or a signal convertor.
If you currently don't have one of those then I would suggest buying a HD-TV as the two methods I advised you of would cost at least $100 anyway.
I'm assume you mean composite or component, and RCA stereo audio output. If so, Ouya has only stated HDMI.
As the above said, you would need an digital to analog converter. An amplifier wouldn't help you in this situation. Unfortunately, you'll spend more on the converter than you would the Ouya. Well, maybe you can find an old used FuryHD for $100 to handle video. There are other issues you have to take into account such as will the converter tweak the signal to make sure your TV will accept it is a big one.
I had to go that route when I setup a home theater PC, and my HDTV predated DVI; it only had component HD input, but the HTPC had display port. I got an HDFury2, which just came out, and ran about $250 at the time. That was cheaper than buying a new good quality 55" HDTV.
Hopefully that was helpful.
Thanks for the information guys, look like I will just pick up a cheap Hd TV.

[Q] How to stream audio from Nexus 7 to another Android phone via Bluetooth

Hello all,
The title pretty much sums it up.
I recently broke my N7's(2012) headphone jack, but i still wish to watch movies and videos off it with audio.
Seeing that the audio jack is out of the question, is there any way i can stream audio off my Nexus 7 on to another android phone like the Nexus 4 using Bluetooth or some other wireless way?
Thanks in advance,
BTW: Replacing the I/O ribbon is far too expensive. The prices on ebay range from 40-50 dollars and all the online stores i looked at don't stock them anymore.

Kitkat HDMI No Audio

I am currently running AOKP 4.4 latest nightly 2-16 with Franco R16. I am using a microHDMI to HDMI connected to the normal HDMI to HDMI to the TV. I have used this before with previous Android versions 4.2 & 4.3 and it worked well. I just tried this with AOKP Kitkat and had video but did not get any audio. I tried a few things from searches through the internet but to no avail.
Is anyone using Kitkat and get HDMI video and audio out? If so, what are you using, did you have any problems and how did you fix them?

Thank you. I tried that and even swapped cables, but it did not help. What ROM are you running?
Im just running stock.
Are you using a Panasonic TV? There seems to be a known problem on those with sound from the N10.
No, I have a Sony Bravia 55"
Bumping the thread to see if anyone else is having issues?
Huh I have this issue too

Your signature states Nexus 10 on latest stock. Is that still accurate?

I have the same problem on my Nexus 10 using stock kitkat and a Sony Bravia 37" TV.
I can get picture and sound from my Note 3 on kitkat using a Samsung Note 2 media dock which has an HDMI output and I'm thinking about buying an HDMI splitter with a built-in amplifier to see if that works on the Nexus 10.
I'm also able to take the output from the Nexus 10 headphone jack and input that into an amplifer and get sound.
I've started a thread to see if anyone has tried a splitter.

Nexus 10 HDMI No Sound

My Sony Bravia TV device manager does not detect my Nexus 10 but I get a picture with no sound using a 10 feet micro HDMI to HDMI cable from Amazon sold as suitable for the Nexus 10.
I also have a Galaxy Note 3 plugged into a Galaxy Note 2 media dock which is detected by the TV device manager and produces picture and sound.
I wondered if the media dock was producing a stronger signal which the TV needs and thought about buying an HDMI splitter with a built-in amplifier to provide a stronger signal from the Nexus 10.
Has anyone tried using an HDMI splitter with amplifier to get picture and sound on the TV?
Thanks.
