[HELP] Need EMMC dump file for Redmi Note 3g WCDMA - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.... i REALLY REALLY REALLY need help here to revive my Redmi Note 3g WCDMA.... My phone's EMMC is damaged and i sent it for repair to a local technician. I bought a replacement EMMC unit from aliexpress.com but now the technician told me that he need the dump file for the EMMC. I searched in the internet but i could not find the file that he needed. I REALLY hope someone here can help me out to give a link to download the dump file, or if anyone can generate the dump file and make it public so that anyone who have problems similar to mine, can get access to the file if they need it.
Thanks.

Recovery Image needed

Of course, as old veteran, I had to play with my shift. And playing for me means, get deep into that thing.
So I unhid the recovery partition and backed it up. I created a recovery DVD and tested it.
After, I enabled the full capacity of the HDD and ran the recovery. Everything went fine and Vista was back up.
I then formatted the beast again and installed ubuntu...again, no problem.
But then, to my shock, I couldnt run the recovery DVD anymore. Maybe carelessly, I dropped something on its surface and now it gives me a read error and breaks off the recovery. I used ImageX.exe to verify the Xvista.wim, but it confirmed that the wim was not
valid.
Too bad, but now I dont have a recovery possiblity.
I hope someone can help me. I am able to provide my 100mbit ftp for up and downloads.
Recovery
I am also looking for an English recovery image.
I found a nice tool which can mount *.WIM files as a standard drive or folder. With this tool its easy to modify the XVISTA.WIM and the BOOT.WIM.
All I need now is a working recovery partition.
I want to slipstream a Vlite version of Vista and see if i can get it all working.
HTC Service is a nightmare
I install the vista manager, trying to speed up the boot time, but it crash the vista.. , when i try to use F3 to recover, it show blue screen in the middle.
since no recover disc provide, so i try to install xp instead. But i found some function key not work on Shift. so i decide send back to HTC for fixing it, it just a a days only new computer. but HTC want to charge me HK$7XXX ( US$1000 ) . They said i void the warranty term because of installing XP. What i think is the hidden partition ( recovery ) has problem....
I am very disappoint with them, and i will tell everyone about their bad treatment to customer.
By the way, can someone help me to get the ORIGINAL image of the hdd. ??
i already uploaded my (english) recovery image to someone's ftp server.
it took me several days because my upload is less than 40kbyte/s.
so I don't feel re-uploading elsewhere, but:
the image is still on the ftp.
I'll ask if he can give access to you guys.

That would be great...I can move it to my server and make it public to everyone here...
I already got the Japanese recovery dump there (Thanks very much to TokyoRob...cheers mate)
i can share my ftp
yes.. i can share my share open to public to if needed...
If an FTP would be available I would be glad to share my italian recovery image.

I need italian recovery image I hope it's possible!!! Thanks
Problem solve , and HTC CARE ( HK ) really bad
Finally I solve the problem, maybe it can help some other user.
1. Format your HDD with Low level ( don't use quick format ) .
2. reboot and press Shift F3....
3. All the blue screen and error won't appear again.
I am happy with it, but i spend more than 2 days to solve the problem.
But I am very disappoint with Hong Kong HTC, they want to charge me for us$1000 to fix the problem, and claim that i damage the hardware, and need to replace the motherboard... I just brought if for few day and under warranty.
They are really cheating customer. I hope their management guy to contact me by [email protected] , and APOLOGIZE for their BIG mistake.
I will post to all FORUM , newsgroup and let the user know how they treat the customer.
First Recovery Image up
The first image file is up and can be grabbed from here.
https://phatpipez.homeftp.org/HTCShift/
Thanks to TokyoRob, who kindly sent me the image file.
Its a 3GB bin file, dumped by using Pof's guide, which can be
found here
http://pof.eslack.org/blog/2008/04/...re-the-vista-recovery-partition-on-htc-shift/
***I believe the language is Japanese,*** ITS IN ENGLISH!!!!! but I already created a patch to change a fresh installation to any desired language.
More about this later.
I would appreciate it, if someone could send me another recovery image
and also the /Program Files/HTC folder.
unfortunately the guy who has the ftp hasn't replied to me yet and I don't want to give out the login info without permission.
in the worst case, if you can guarantee the image will indeed be public for a long while, then I can take the pain to upload it again to whatever server you give me a login to.
still no reply from this guy I mentioned; but someone else also has the english recovery partition (in 7z, yuck!) on a server, this is not public, but I asked him to PM you all. please do not give out the login info he gives to you.

You can even change the language.

Corrupt file
When decompressing Shift_Recovery_Partition_Content.7z with both 7Z or WinRar, the WIM file shows as being corrupted. Would you please repack / verify? Thanks!

[Discussion] An alternative for Tab 2 emmc bug & brick backup

Well, I have been going through many tab owner problems on this forum who have tried everything on the book to get their tab back running. this experimental process is only for those people who have no option left than to throw away their tab as a dead glorious paperweight or play with it as a Frisbee. hopefully it can recover or at least it can open a new way for getting out of a brick or perhaps be a good learning experience, just for the sake of it. what else would you want to do? if your device is un-repairable? at least this can take a backup for the complete device in a different way though.
So what really is this about?
Well, Samsung tab 2 emmc is pretty much notoriously getting scarier, either it is happening because of flashing a wrong kernel or doing wrong with your tab, or in some cases where people had no clue. A sudden attack and the tab was dead. you may be lucky to get a replacement and get the tab running up again. but not all could be solved and resolved.
but what if we provide the tab a second emmc(your external card emulated and working as an exact image of the internal emmc with all the system files with their partition on it?) sounds good eh? there are 2 sides of this coin. one, our device is not made that way and it's definitely not going to work at all, second, it can work after a little hardware modification provided you have the right files and right tools and a insanely expert brain. Now the chances of this working is like that of flipped coin landing on it's edges. very tricky.
But how we can achieve this then?
Well, there are users on the internet that have some sort of success in this, while it wasn't guaranteed for their device, that this process can work for all and there is definitely nothing like this sort ever found for our device. which is on omap chipset, it's the debrick method. you can't tell unless you are from the development department of Samsung. So, I would say even if it's 0.0000000001 percent of having a chance to work for us. I would like to keep it.
Debrick.img? what does it do? how to get it?
Well, this file is generally taken out from a stock rom from location /dev/block/mmcblk0 which is where pit stores the data for all the partition and from there we can extract all the important parts, including the boot-loader, recovery, cache, hidden, sbl1, sbl2, factoryfs param, modem, EFS, DataEFS to a .img file. (as far as my definition goes for better understanding). please feel free to go through all the post that you can find about the debrick, or if you have more knowledge please share.
I was just going through these posts.
The whole process for sg s3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660566
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818321 a guide that explains about taking backup of the entire memory block with all partitions or single partition. it's quite old but informative.
fixing a bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345860
there are different parts to it, first is getting the bootloader written on a external sd card. but we still don't know if our device will be able to treat the external sd card as an internal emmc. it is yet to be found out.
my theory is suppose if we can get out the whole partition along with system written on a external card, can we make the device treat it as a internal emmc? will it then be possible to revive a dead internal emmc tab? there are chances it might. still no practical though and no guarantees for sure.
but it makes you feel better, I managed to get out those partition on a .img file which could be written on a external card as well. basically an image of your emmc. this might be a good backup too for those who would like to be safe in case a emmc bug hits them too.
Now, To get this data we need volunteers to take these files from their working rooted stock rom and upload these files for every model of samsung tab, if they wish to contribute to our community, you are welcome. or at least keep it safe on their disks. although, this process will require atmost care as we are dealing with bootloaders here, and one wrong bootloder and it
won't work, as much as my knowledge goes, there are two- the ics and jb for our tab 2. still there are many other variants and I really have no clue, how to work this out all by myself. so, I would like other great minds share their wisdom upon this and please before sharing files, mention everything you can, right from your
1. Device model number
2. 8gb or 16gb
3. Bootloader(ics or jb)
4. Stock rom, custom rom,
5. firmware
6. Baseband
7. Country and to your name.
Now before pulling out this file, I have a doubt, as I have got few imgs option. there is 128mb, 200mb, 256mb, 512mb and also I have got one img of around 2.17gb as well which is the complete backup I could take out from my device.
I am not sure which one to choose that's going to work. people have mostly used 128mb file to get access to the download mode, I guess in that 128mb, there is enough files needed to boot your device into download mode and recover from hard bricks, but there is no evidence as for now in our device section as to which is suffient for us. So for first try, we take 128mb, and keep doubt aside for one process.
but suppose it's our emmc bug and we want to use the external as a image of the damaged internal, in that case I suppose we need to take out the whole info! is it really possible with the 2.17gb of my device complete data? ah, I would really like to know about the answer myself, in case it hits my device, I would be prepared myself
anyways to try this you must have a sd card reader and use a external card of 16gb or 8gb depending upon your device variant (card class 10 required, on others it has high chance of not working at all)
Now the process to extract the file
The script that you need to enter into terminal emulator(download one from playstore) this will backup a 128mb file on your sdcard.
Code:
#su
#busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1M count=128
128MB is arbitrary. on some devices 70MB was sufficient, on our device? maybe or maybe not. please test or help me answer this correctly, if I'm wrong. but untill then, use 128mb, if we fail, we will look for other options.
other dd commands
Code:
1. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.img
backup whole partitons thus will be large size and takes more time.
Code:
2. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1M count=70
70mb data from mmcblk0 will be copied to sd card
Code:
3 dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1M count=512
512mb data from mmcblk0 will be copied to sd card
Code:
4. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.img bs=4096
large size more than 4GB and more time consuming
Procedure
1. Connect the external sd card to the card reader move all the files to your pc and format it.
2. find the correct debrick.img image from post 2.
3. Download and extract this software win iso burner
4. Open the software win32diskimager.exe and browse the debrick.img
5. Successfully Write the debrick.img onto it.
6. Put the sdcard in your device
7. Pray, or do the cha cha, praise the droid lord.
8. switch it on or press power button + volume down/up, whatever you can.
9. if you can then get into download mode, you can try to flash stock firmware or dance your way around.
10. report us back what happened.
1. Download Debrick dump imgs. (128mb)

So, you're one of those lucky ones. Getting a replacement is still the best way. So, do you think my theory here could work? Anyways it would be an interesting answer to find out. But people would need to share files here first for any samsung tab 2 model. I hope it becomes helpful rather than just interesting.

Well I still haven't faced the emmc bug, so can't really test on my device yet. nobody else who faced this issue had tried this and posted or shared any of the findings here.
Updating the emmc firmware via. ISP gives back life to >80% of affected devices.
16 GB Tab 2 have a known faulty EMMC (MAG2GA). It can happen, that your EMMC get "read only", so you can't perform any write actions (also you can't format) anymore.
From the EMMC data sheet:
5.1.7 End of Life Management:
The end of device life time is defined when there is no more available reserved block for bad block management in the device. When the device reaches to end of its life time, device shall change its state to permanent write protection state. In this case, write operation is not allowed any more but read operation are still allowed.
But, reliability of the operation can not be guaranteed after end of life.

On a faulty EMMC firmware it happens a lot faster if the emmc reaches a wrong value.
Sadly Patching the emmc fw isn't possible running the device, at least there's no known kernel on chip power-on Method...
Those from europe can contact @html6405 , he is able to update the emmc firmware and he can also replace the emmc if needed.
Note:
Sharing a whole copy if mmcblk0 isn't good, because it will include efs partition which is sensible data.

Yes, better to keep them private. Users do not share, just keep a backup with yourself.

Hi,
I just tried this method. The tab boot on the sdcard, i have the charging logo displayed, and then screen turns black. The driver change from omap4430 to Android, and keep this driver until i unplug the usb cable.
On linux, the tab device is recognized as Android. Same on windows (loaded in virtualbox from linux).
adb device display an unauthorized device.
So from this step, it is still impossible to flash the tab.
Anyway thanks for sharing this; even if its painfull to lose a tab, it is nice to learn how all this work.
if other people have more information to share, i would appreciate any new info on this subject

Unbricking and QPST - All Snapdragon / Qualcomm devices

Hello All,
First let me say thanks to all XDA Developers, and without this forum I would still be a pleb when it comes to unbricking. :highfive:
The link to QPST: androidbrick.com/download/latest-qpst-2-7-build-422-425-430-437-qfil-qualcomm-flasher/
(Sorry, I haven't passed 10 posts yet, so you have to manually enter into the address bar)
I came to this forum seeking answers to unbrick my hardbricked Note 4, and after many hours of heartbreak and headache, I have come across a tool called QPST.
This tool is used by Qualcomm, and if you read carefully through the accompanying documentation, you will find some interesting stamps - such as "Confidential" etc.
While I am no expert in the use of QPST, from my own incomplete research I am convinced this tool can be used on any device which sports a Qualcomm chipset (Snapdragon etc.) to unbrick it from certain death.
I have not yet succeeded with my attempts at unbricking, but it is now only a matter of time and kind people pointing me in the right directions. :fingers-crossed:
I am looking for the right files to go in the "phone image" and "boot image" lines in the QPST Software Download program.
I hope we can all see the opportunity this tool represents and spread the word among the greater community, not just developers.
Edit:
Using Software Download:
Phone image files will have a .hex extension and I do not believe they can be found on sammobile. I still haven't found the right one.
Boot image files: I still don't know what they will look like. Likely a .hex file.
Using QFIL:
I suspect all these files can be acquired from a service ROM (whatever a service ROM is - I don't think it is a ROM for android as I know them). I am not completely sure of this however.
Using the flat build option will let you select the programmer. It will have a file name like:
prog_emmc_firehoseXXXX.mbn
(Replace XXXX with the correct numbers for your snapdragon. I don't know what the right ones for the Snapdragon 805 are, but I strongly suspect 8084, with a remote possibility of 8064. Edit: I don't know, don't take my word.
There are posts for other phones on XDA, I don't know if they use the 805 chipset or if the files are compatible.) <--- If anyone wants to research, feel free. Team efforts make a big job seem easy! Please post your results!
Accompanying your firehose file will be a bunch of other files in the same folder.
You will need two .xml files to go with the above (usually in the same folder), which will look like as follows:
rawprogram0XXXX.xml (here XXXX denotes some numbering system which will be determined by the internal memory of the device eg 16GB, 32GB, 64GB. I saw an example for a OnePlus One which had rawprogram0_64G.xml.
I'm NOT 100% SURE on this numbering system, as elsewhere on XDA I have come across different file names!
Here's the truncated link: androidbrick.com/ultimate-qualcomm-snapdragon-unbrick-guide-snapdragons-are-unbrickable-qhsusb_dload_qpst_qfil/)
patch0.xml
When I find the above, I will post or hassle an admin to post, as these will likely unbrick any Snapdragon 805. Happy hunting!
Here's a truncated link to XproZayd's thread, where a different avenue is explored (and where I got my idea about the 8084 number for firehose -- Remember, I could be wrong!)

What made your device hard brick
Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk
Mistake 1: I bought the phone with the known problem of a USB port not working.
Mistake 2: I bought a replacement USB board and replaced it myself, after which the fun and games began. The one time the screen did light up I got an error message about mmc read fail and could not boot.
Mistake 3: Like a fool, I pulled the battery. Now I have a hard bricked / useless Note 4.
Unless the mmc is physically damaged (which I refuse to believe) the phone should be salvageable from its hard brick state. Provided I can find the right files to go with QPST.
Edit:
I have tried contacting Qualcomm to get the files, who have pointed out that they are proprietary to the licensee, ie Samsung. Here's the e-mail below.

Update:
So far I have contacted Qualcomm, Intrinsyc (they sell Snapdragon development boards), and a Samsung retail outlet.
All have come back as a negative - the closest I could get was the Samsung retail outlet where a dude used to work in the repair centre and had access to the files then.
Unfortunately, Samsung revoked his permissions now that he only works in a retail outlet.
He knew what I was talking about, but due to Samsung and their encryption etc, he couldn't provide me with the files.

Hello All,
First let me say thanks to all XDA Developers, and without this forum I would still be a pleb when it comes to unbricking.

This thread is for discussing QPST and how to use it - if you have a hard bricked phone I am not able to help at this stage. However, should anybody find / 'acquire' the right files to use with QPST, we will all benefit.

Im in the same boat with my NOTE 4 N910F. Totally blacked out but still picking it up on the PC with QFIL files have found some files but there not the right phone I think.
so fails to load with SAHARA.
cannot find firehose for 910F. Wish someone could solve this one and then publish it all. someone will eventually but QFIL will unbrick all Qualcomm provided you can make the files.
Let me know if you or anyone does. cheers

Tried this?
Reporting Via N910G.
Hi, got a Phicomm Energy M+ (E551). It turned off as the battery was empty, so I charged it overnight.
But:
-Switching it on only shows the phicomm logo
-Trying to enter recovery, shows phicomm logo for a second and then the screen stays lit. Nothing else happens.
-On Windows 7 device manager shows it as "RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (Com3)" (VOL Up+VOL Down + Power)
-fastboot/adb wont find it
-I tried this http://www.droidsavvy.com/unbrick-qualcomm-mobiles/
I dont have a emmc backup but an unzipped Stock ROM of the E551L which support told me to use. (put on SD card and reboot into recovery, but I cant get into recovery)
Hence I use the unzipped ROM with the Qualcomm FLasher :S (http://na.phicomm.info/release/E551L...TA package.zip)
-It starts the process but then says "Failed to enter EDL" (Emergency) mode
Another thing I stumbled across is :
E551L has Qualcomm MSM8916 and Android 4.4.2
E551M has Qualcomm MSM8915 and Android 4.4.4
Will I have to quire a deepflash cable or am I missing something here ?

Hi there guys, i'd like to know if somebody could help me. I'm looking for a QCN file from a xiaomi mi2/s, i was trying to restore my imei but something goes wrong. My mi2s have imei 0/ mac unknoiwn baseband unknown. I dont have restore files. Can someone help me and share qcn file from mi2s 32 gb version. It's last chance to fix my phone.
QCN MI2S
Hi. This is a file that i got from a user from another forum...i couldnt restore my phone using this file as QPST gives connection error... Be careful trying it.
If it will be profitable for you...let me know how you managed to make QPST work correclty...

Help, QCN file needed

I have recently bought an Essential Phone from ebay with broken radios. No imei, no wifi... After troubleshooting, I found out that the QCN file was completely wiped. I have the original imei written on the phone and paper but need the copy of QCN to restore it. Could somebody please help ?

It's not safe to share imeis. Could you just edit yours with dummy imei and pass me the file? I can hex edit my original imei into it myself.

You are right. Actually, I dont have much to lose anyways as the phone is becoming replacement parts if I can't repair it. I will sent the imei via pm. Also, not sure if qcn restore if even enough, there is a chance of broken efs as well.

Qnc fixes efs....if it doesn't you could send me your nvrf partition,I could inject your IMEI into the one I pulled from mind and send you the fixed one...
Hi
Hello everyone I am so sad. Because A few days ago I noticed that the baseband was unknown. IMEI 1 and 2 unknown and Android ID Null from my Asus rog phone 2 Zs660kl version I001DC Global version and I cannot do anything because there is no any Qcn file for this phone , I am unable to do anything in my own, I do not live in United states, I cannot send it to repair, it would cost me the tax again, like 147 dollars again that I paid for the customs. Please if anyone has a good hearth to back up the Asus rog phone 2 file from the same version with the qpst toll... I would really appreciate. I need it , I tried to find the IMEI with Hxd editor and there is not any 1111 to find the error so I am unable to to that. There is no any Qcn file. I need a Qcn file from the same phone with a phone that has the baseband and the rest fine".
I need to have the Qcn file from this same phone I have issues with the baseband IMEI unknown and Android id Null, by doing this you can help through diag mode you just follow this just download Adb minimal, open it and and write Adb devices, then Adb shell then Su and finally setprop sys.usb.config rndis, diag,Adb enter and in device manager you will see in ports, Qualcomm devices which you can continue doing the next step which is installing latest drivers from Qualcomm on this video you can follow the steps After installing the latest qualcomm driver, the qpst tool will recognize your phone because it is now on diag mode since you did the previous step, by checking this video you can back up the Qcn file which is what many people need and there is no other way to solve the issue only with a phone which is in perfect condition as yours
how to use the qpst tool to backup the Qcn file , First diag mode with the commands I gave you second is installing the latest qualcomm drivers then backup and restore Qcn , and then you will have it done,
download the qpst tool and the Qualcomm drivers and it is an example of my problem with the baseband, you can guide with the one video and the third , the one video do not use the commands given by the YouTuber, because that do not works, use the commands I gave you , that works for our phones, and then the third video is explaining how to backup the Qcn file which contains the data? I was unable to edit myself the Qcn data from my damaged phone cause the IMEI is not there, there is no any 11111 number to replace it for my own IMEI, sadly,... Just need the Qcn from a good phone, please!!l
If anybody is still offering to do this and can help me... My phone is hard bricked and I can't do anything... I feel I can fix it with a QCN... Anyone want to help?
