It is a bit difficult to understand what are you saying.
It seems like the battery does not hold charge and while it starts booting it goes off because your charger and cable isn't powerful enough to keep the phone running. Do you have another charging cable? And maybe another charger?
It's the crappy quality battery Samsung put in the S4.
Mine starts doing that at 30% charge.
And you have let it charge for a bit using the 2A charger before starting it up.

By the coincidence, is your batt serial no beginning with BD? If so, look on the battery. Is it swollen a bit? If so - call samsung, they will replace battery free of charge.
If not, try to connect phone to charger, insert battery, go to recovery and make full wipe.

it might be a power button issue
ok, this may be tricky.
while keeping volume down and home - slice battery in. If phone would boot in download mode (even just for a while) - then it will be power button issue.
it boots up on download mode for seconds and then powered off again....
Im digging up this post because this is the same problem i had.
I ended up removing the power button all together, carefully popped it off the motherboard. The phone no longer boots for a couple secs and powers off again so i think the power button was the issue. Now i have the problem of powering on the phone. I tried booting into download mode (to have the reboot option) by holding volume down+home while plugging it in but nothing happens, all i get is the battery charging icon. Ive been into download mode before i removed the button, but like the OP, it would only be a second or 2 before rebooting. Am i doing the correct procedure for download mode? Perhaps my timing is off? Any suggestions?
At least i do get the battery charge and it stays until i unplug the phone, no more boot loop!

Ok so i managed to get the phone to power up without going into download mode using this method i found on youtube. No boot loop and fully powered up now, the only thing is that im stuck on the lock screen. My friend cant remember his pin so i cant get in, the only option left now is to boot into recovery and do a factory reset yes? Well, how can i do that without a power button? Any suggestions?
Hello, my s4 turn off yesterday, i think it's a battery problem but when i connect the charger (usb or energy) the phone wont charge.
so i think it's a battery problem, i test with other battery and the problem remains.
The Led won't turn on and if i plug out the battery and plug on the device start, but turn off on firs samsung logo in a second.
If I turn on in download mode or recovery mode, the device turn off in a second too.
Its strange cause the device start, but not remain on for 1 second!
It's probably your power button that is hanging/broken.
YEP!

hello,
I got Galaxy Note 3 (N9005) just two months back from Ebay. It was working perfectly since today morning I charged to 86% and unplugged it usually using 2.0 cable to charge the device but now its not powering UP, tried to unplug the battery , sim for several minutes but still the same issue
After plugging the charger again its vibrating every 3-4 seconds and showing battery with grey color and O written inside it after it a wrecked line showing at different points that's crossing the screen just like screen is damaged or OS is boot loop
Trying to power on while the charger is plugged it just show Samsung NOTE 3 screen and sometimes samsung logo gets load with blue LED continuously onn again the battery charging issue
youtube: chvRbwgT9n8 or U5B2By7fGII
but it does not show green battery any more
since its not starting up and only shows activity when its plugged in USB/Wall charger , unable to use it. is there any resolution on this most of the Note 3 users are complaining about the same issue
tried to boot it in recovery mode and restart the device from there but still no success
this issue is occurring for the last 3 hours and i am really annoyed how to resolve this issue
tried USB 3.0 as well with laptop but no success even after 30 minutes
if the battery is drained it should start with the charger plugged in but it isnt starting any more.
**Update
plugged on wall charger
started the mobile with Volume Up+ Power + Home key
erased to factory reset
wipe cache
rebooted
now its passing the samsung logo , annimation and then white Samsung Logo blinking with colors and after that again same battery showing
no custom rom installed on stock version i think its 4.2.2
Could be the battery.

If you turn it off but with charger power on, is it got charged(based on the battery animation)?.
If it's charged you could try odin back the firmware but if battery is low, then don't as it could brick your phone if it dies during flashing.
Else try to clean the usb port and 3 pins at battery compartment.
Not sure whether this is hardware of software.
Even the switch could cause such problem.

not sure whether now my previous battery is dead or not
since after installed replacement battery its giving the same issue
sent for repair at a local service center, since out of warranty/ insurance
they are saying its unrepairable
The usb module on the phone is defective. Replace it.
But the phone is in dead state if not plugged in as the battery is showing 55% when installed on another set
I guess you're having this

Some what the same issue, cell phone is showing dead symptoms when not plugged in, not activity what so ever is done to start
but when its plugged in its giving Grey Battery Sign and vibration every 3 seconds
when its power on it does pass the Samsung animation but after that OS is not loaded
www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5B2By7fGII
**Update
It's for sure Hardware Issue, checked with different hardware persons and they all agree that its power IC issue that is why its displaying this behaviour
Also tried to load KitKat from Odin but Samsung Galaxy Note 3 logo flashes every 2 second after downloading is complete.
i'm stuck with black screen, blue led... and no buttons responding. inserting charging cable does nada.
Force reboot (Volume down+Power) does not working.
Can I save it?
Does color of led change when you're plugging the charger? I would recommend you different combinations volup + home + power/ voldown + home + power. If it won't help, wait till the phone runs out of battery and then plug the charger

Hi There,
I need help with my S8, the phone won't turn on when pressing the power button even though i left it on charge all night even tried to boot it in recovery mode and ODIN MODE and nothing it won't turn on, the only way the phone comes on and that's when i plug a USB cable into it and it only loads up (SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 screen) and the only way to turn it off is to press POWER BUTTON, BIXBY BUTTON and VOLUME DOWN BUTTON to go into ODIN MODE, but that's when the next problem occurs it doesn't go into ODIN Mode just basically turns the phone off and also while the phone is on the same screen (SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 screen) i tried to quickly press VOLUME UP, BIXBY BUTTON and POWER BUTTON all at once and it does nothing just stays on the (SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 screen) even pressing the POWER BUTTON alone does nothing, but like i said previously it can only be turned off when on (SAMSUNG GALAXY S8 screen) when pressing POWER BUTTON, BIXBY BUTTON and VOLUME DOWN BUTTON.
So Basically,
ODIN Mode Doesn't Work
Recovery Mode Doesn't Work
The only way the phone comes on is through USB Connection
Is this a battery problem or firmware problem or something else

I have finally solved my own problem it was just the firmware
So here's what i did
As i plugged in the usb cable for the phone to come on i quickly pressed VOLUME DOWN, BIXBY BUTTON and POWER BUTTON to boot into odin mode and it actually booted into odin mode and i reflashed 8.0 firmware and now my phone is up and running.
So if anyone else as the same problem then try what i did above.
