Hello Guy's
I bought this unit in China : nl.aliexpress.com/item/In-Dash-Android-4-2-2-CPU-Double-2-Din-Car-GPS-Nav-DVD-Stereo-Headunit/2021907492.html
Please could someone tell me or if its possible to upgrade this system because for now it's sucks can't use SD card to store any app's or maps from Here.
Some info :
Hardware information : Dual Core - Rom 4GB - DDR3 1GB
Kernel version : Linux 3.4.39
OS Version : Android v4.4 - BSP 1.11 20160323
APP Version : AW A8001-APP 1.11
MCU Version : 1.11.0.0.
So i would be very happy when it would be possible, please let me know and thanks in advance.
Erwin
I think i have the same one, and I am not really happy with it as it is rather slow. It is hard to find more information on this device, I only found this russian thread.
Hi Marsius,
Yes same problem here, and you can't use another SD card to put app's on because it's not possible to move to SD card
System is indeed very slow, i have read the russian site, with google translate i can make a lot of it but i think it's not very safe to use any of the firmware they mention because i don't know or it's safe !!
So still the question from us, and you offcourse is there any guy or girl in this forum who can help us ??
Thanks..
Erwin
Thanks to the members on this thread I was at least find the instruction manual for this head unit. The head unit is a Bosion BX410 or so the PDF says, reading through it does look to be identical.
My first impressions on the head unit were wow, but this was based on my old head unit from a 14 year old SAAB. So you can imagine going from that to this was quite a step.
So now that I've lived with the unit for a couple of weeks now the shine has tarnished a little. The reason I say that is although the unit looks very customisable but in fact it's not really. Installing your own music apps isn't really workable as when you get an incoming call the player doesn't automatically pause. Have you ever tried talking a call with music in the background.
I have seen the unit pop up with an update a couple of times but I've never had a good enough data connection to download it. And when I have it throws back an unknown error. I bought this from eBay from a seller in Hong Kong so I'm going to message them to see if they can help.
Guy
New info, got a message from the seller I bought the unit from telling me they are going to upload the update I've been having hassle downloading. Then send me a link to the update. I'll keep you posted to how I get on.
Update
Ok further to my request for the update from the seller they actually pulled through and sent me the whole thing. Installed it without really any problems but don't really notice that much difference from the original. The most instant thing that I did notice was the boot logo changed. I've been into the settings and noticed it has changed the OS but I didn't write down what it was, perhaps because so little changed. I guess the most important thing is that it still works after the update. Overall happy with the unit so guess I've leave be. Yeah the boot time is slow but once it's up and running no real issues.
If anyone wants how have a go at the update then give me a shout and I'll forward it on. But you take the risk installing it, don't blame me if it goes tits up.
Thanks
Guy

HU still running since update but still don't really notice really what it added or bugs it fixed. Google play services still crashes from time to time, but it's always done that I usually just disable until I want to download something from the play store.
I'm not really complaining as it's a vast improvement over my 14 year old SAAB unit. Still that wouldn't be hard.

Hi, only have it on my hard drive I'll get round to uploading it this weekend then post the link. Please note that I found it didn't really do a great deal. Apart from the boot screen changing and the update app disappearing that is all I noticed about it.
Please note you install this at your own risk, I'm no expert in hacking android devices and can't offer any real advice. Other than the fact it did install ok and didn't brick my device. There are also detailed install instructions but these have been translated from Chinese. But they are perfectly understandable.
Look out for a link over the weekend.
Thanks

Hi Friend,

My Seller is not replying to my messages. Can you help me check with your seller if there is any firmware I can download for it?
Thanks alot.

Hi Guys,
Since putting Andriod on my mini, it seems when im using it... it works happily, but as soon as lock it. 5minutes later, it will reboot itself. And it will continue to do this every 5mins or so, unless I use it.
Any ideas whats happening? Also great work in getting Android on the Mini.
thanks,
John
Hi!
I had the same problem with Android 2.1. But the phone didn't reboot with Froyo (2.2) from Schlund. You can download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11376905&postcount=664
Does this also have the WiFi fix by robin?
And thanks for letting me know.
Ah, okay, you also want to have wifi. Unfortunately the wifi fix does not work yet in Schlunds image. I think the a few people are working on this, as the problem is also mentioned in the developers forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983735. Until the problem is solved you have to stick to Android 2.1 from Cotulla.
Ok, thank you for letting me know. I will watch that other post. Again, many thanks. Least I know this isn't just something on my system.
hey excuse me im new to this but can you please refer me to the link to install android on my htc hd mini please!!! i didnt know this was possible

Welcome!
Android is possible on HTC Hd mini, but a lot of things do not work yet. Installation hints and download mirrors are given in thsi thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952996
Please consider that it's still work in progress! Do not annoy the developers with questions about things which do not work. They are aware of this. However you can play around with android. Enjoy it!
Another one ...
Hi guys!
Here's another experience with HD mini android - with lock into black: I have quite the same issue with 2.2 Froyo (and possibly happened with 2.1 also). I start android, boots it within 1-2 minutes from Kingston 4 GB, no big problems, using it for 1-2 hours, playing, etc. But when I lock it and leave it ... things turns nasty sometimes. I can not wake it up again using the Pwr button as it's meant to be, the device does not respond anymore. I have to take out the battery to restart it again.
That's it. I hope these reported cases are helping the developers.
Hi guys,
I have a LG Gwatch R for the past 2 years now. It was running the latest version of Android wear 1 till this December. One day the screen died and had to send to to service. So I got the watch back today and the watch is factory reset (on the very first version of the wear OS). I paired the watch and the phone, all good. But it tries to download a software update and it keeps giving me this error on the watch: couldn't download system uodate, not enough space is available to download system update.
As I mentioned the watch has nothing on it and it was updated before to android wear 1.5 or whatever version it was the latest before wear2.
Does anyone have any idea on what's going on in her and how can I possibly fix this issue? The watch is almost useless in its current state ?
Thanks,
Siavash

Did yours happen after repair or factory reset as well?
Post the output of:
Code:
adb shell df
Sorry was a bit short in my reply ?
No its only a week old and new.
Tried to clear cache and also reset it to factory on it but no luck, also removed almost all apps on the phone.

I don't see that any partition is too full.
I don't know what's wrong here.
Send it back again. Give them the error message and a photo of it.

Yes that's the problem. The watch is formatted and is like brand new. Nothing is on it, so it shouldn't complain about it not having enough space.
I was looking on the web today and I found that this has happened to a couple of people having LG watch urban as well, same scenario. I suspect it's something to to with the new update to wear 2 released by LG, screwing up something when it tries to update from the very first release of Android wear to the latest.
Do these exist? I've tried emailing them a couple of times asking and they seem to just ignore the emails so I'm guessing that I'm SOL. I've read a couple of posts here with people trying to use other PX5 based ROMs and not having great success, so I'm not sure I want to go that route as I would be pretty unhappy if I bricked my unit. There doesn't seem to be any other retrofit options for my car by anyone else (it's a 2016 Smart 453) so I guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see what happens ...
Does anyone have any good pointers? I'm running Oreo but it seems like the particular build is pretty buggy, have lots of little issues with it, but not sure where the blame lies. Can't reprogram any of the steering wheel buttons (but they work to do what they are intended to do). My car doesn't have a next/previous track on the wheel though which is super annoying so was hoping to be able to program a long press of something, but no luck so far ...

Double check this before you do anything of course, but you can use updates from Hot Audio for Seicance. A coworker of mine has a Seicance and even though his is a PX5, it came with Android 6, so I verified for him that it's cross compatible (here) and then pointed him to the thread on how he can update his to 8.
Thanks for the reply!
I will dig into this and do some reading before I venture anywhere near this. I took a closer look last night and it seems my unit is running a a v2.80 MCU and Android 8.0.0 OPR5, so I will see if there's anything newer that might be useful to me or not.
Did some looking into it and yes, there seems to be a good handful of updates newer than what I'm running ... I'll probably give the latest a try this weekend and see how it works out. Thanks for the pointer in the right direction ... at least now I know how to parse out what the deal is with my head unit. Android is new to me (but I've been a linux geek forever so I don't feel too scared to do this sort of thing).
And the updates worked like a charm. It seems to be running much better with the latest updates. Time will tell once I'm back to the 3+ hours of commuting daily next week ... but thanks again. This worked a treat and was super painless.
I bought about 9 months ago, directly from Seicane a radio of 9 "android 8 PX5, 4g ram y and 32Gb, for a Subaru Forester, the integration and the connectors are excellent but the radio had problems with the bluetooth handled by google and when connecting the cell phone via usb Easyconected, it did not recognize the cell phone, I asked for support but the solution from them was simple, and it was still the same, at the end I found a firmware of Hal9k, I installed to the radio and with this all these problems were solved, the link is "https: //forum.xda -developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-software-development/rom-hal9k-rom-3-mtcd-e-head-units-t3847477 ", and the radio is rooted with the upgraded.:
Wich processor do you guys have?
I also bought a Seicane but mis my old Hal9k rom.
Can you still acces all extra car and canbus settings after installing this Rom?
edit:
I have this CPU "MT8227L Quad-core 1.3-1.5GHzCortex-A7Processor"

I'm tinkering with my Portable as well . I currently have Linage OS on it and am able to install NVIDIA Games on it . Geforce Now will not stream however and I get an "error code 11". I also was not able to download Xcloud game streaming .
Let me ask you about your portable . If you are on stock firmware ( Lollipop) , do you randomly lose volume -like if the headphones where plugged in ? This happens on mine . If I'm on Kit Kat it's fine but I can't use Geforce Now or anything .
I've been racking my brain over this for awhile - there is still some life in this device and would like to resolve this issue.
I need to get a stock OTA zip currently I can't find it in any of my archives I've also been pretty busy lately as for any issues pertaining to the stock OTA I can't take a look until later on I will be setting up a build environment to see if I can build stock again from source (not sure how likely it will be) I have been hearing a lot of issues with stock OTA now I am honestly not sure if that is due to issues with it or if some of these devices aren't aging well
Also any of you looking to reach me with any questions I don't check XDA much so here's a telegram link to the chat pinned to first post

lol - This device !! I've decided I'm not giving up yet ! I've tried stock L ( 103, 106, 110 ) All have this weird sound issue where the speakers will either make heart attack inducing high pitches ( capacitor noises ? ) or the volume will force itself into "silent mode" . You can restart the portable and the sound will come back , calm down ect. This is really bothering me though because game streaming is still really good on this device . Also when on official Kit Kat or Linage OS none of these sound problems occur. I've even tried rooting it and basically removing all Google apps possible and the sound issue still happens .
Currently I have the portable rooted with Magisk on Linage OS 6.1 ( the last nightly build) I've tried hiding the NVIDIA apps , Sony PS4 Remote Play and have had "no luck ". Geforce Now will install perfectly start to load the game , then right before it starts there is a error code 11 that pops up .
Something Google did in the lollipop update to the portable messed up the speakers . ( I thought it might be the "memory leak issue" - but the last update OFW was 5.1 not 5.0

Hey, question to anyone who can answer - I just got my hands on a couple of Shield Portable 2 prototypes. They seem a bit less complete than the famous one that showed up at a pawn shop a couple of years ago, but one of them turns on and can connect to the internet. I want to see if I can get it up and running - it's still quite buggy, will crash if any videos are opened and obviously doesn't have any google services involved - but I just want to do what I can to make it as usable as possible. . I'm a complete noob when it comes to all this, just someone who was a big fan of the original portable and wanted to try and get this prototype to run some games. If anyone can help me out, or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I'm wondering if you could dump the system info , if someone could make a custom rom that could be flashed ?
I'm interested in anything that people manage with streaming.
I got lineage android 6.1 installed on it yesterday and managed to get the xbox game streaming app installed via the apk (the latest one boots then crashes, but the one before loads), however it still requires a bluetooth controller to connect, wish we could get the integrated controller to work with this and would make it so perfect for streaming xbox remotely.
If anyone is wondering yes I am still working on the device as we all know this year has been a real doozy for us all also I am moving across the US this coming week so please just work with all the devs here and we shall see what happens

Awesome glad to hear it. Just revived mine.
I am working on gathering all Shield portable files and putting them up on our website AFH. Let me know when you have something ready and I will make sure it gets put on every server possible and doesn't get deleted.
Here is what I have gathered so far
https://androidfilehost.com/f/shield
Thanks
Alex with AFH
Oddly enough guys I've been having issues pulling the manifest from RR I've told them about the issue we'll see if it gets fixed it looks like I am not having any issues pulling aosp manifest keep in mind I am not saying that I will have a aosp rom out because I am unsure if that will even work but we will see what happens
Update: no issues with AOSP now I'm just waiting for lineage to finish again no promises of a rom guys I know we've been having issues since 7.x android quite frankly I'd be surprised myself if lineage 17.1 will even work
Also on some personal notes this is 100% a back burner project as it looks as tho I'll be having to move again as I haven't been able to find work where I am currently at I know that the whole covid-19 situation has made it hard on everyone especially here in the US among other things in the country right now but I am still hopeful things will turn around and work out and hopefully I can get some kind of build out even if it's not great

If anyone can help me out, or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Not sure I know RR 6.0.1 had quite a few bugs but due to how outdated 6.x is I can't really do much with it

What are you working on currently on this device?
I used to connect 2 Bluetooth devices and listen on both devices at the same time on Android 10. Ever since the tablet got updated to Android 11, this dual audio feature doesn't work.
Steps I used on Android 10 to get dual audio is listed below. The same setup doesn't work on Android 11. Even though its able to connect to both devices, it is allowing to play on only one device at a time
1) Pair 2 Bluetooth devices
2) go to Media panel in the notifications section which allows you to enable sound on both devices at same time
Hi there,
You're not alone with this problem. It seems Samsung decided the S5e is not worth supporting this feature anymore and simply removed it with the update.
There's a thread in the Samsung community forum about it, but as you might guess, no official statement:
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tablets/dual-audio-fehlt-nach-update-auf-android-11-one-ui-3-1-tab-s5e/m-p/3606484#
Feel free to address your dissatisfaction there, the more voices, the higher the small chance of getting it back the way it was before...
Unfortunately the thread is in German, but making the problem more international can only help!

For anyone else searching forums on this issue, I did revert back to Android 10 on my S5e and I now have the feature back. As of now you can still successfully roll back to 10 via ODIN

I was actually thinking about that too, but this will void your warranty of the device, right?
Nevertheless, I'm still considering this, especially also since Samsung most likely won't provide another update to Android 12, even though the sister device Tab S6 is confirmed to get it.
Is there any particular how-to description that you followed, which you could link here?
Thanks for the hint!

I pretty much followed instructions in this youtube video:
As far as firmware to choose in video, I choose Cellular South since that is the USA version. And for my tablet there is no CP file since it doesnt have a radio. When you hold down volume keys and plug in tablet it also automatically goes in debug mode versus having to select it like he did, at least for me it did. I believe those were the only differences in video. It took my windows PC forever to download and install drivers, that was only hiccup. Took along time flash also, be patient, dont touch anything, let it do its thing.
As far as warranty, IDK, this is just flashing same Software back to device, not a custom ROM, no rooting required, seems like it wouldnt be void. You'd have to ask that question to more experienced members here. But I can tell you, warranties usually suck anyway, and if your device is good out of the box for a month it is typically good for years. Hit me up if you decide to do it and have a question, Ill try to help best I can. It was a must feature for me to have and so glad to have it back. I also used to watch movies with my wireless and hand someone else a wired pair, that feature also was removed in 11 but works in 10
