Any AOSP kernels for Note 4? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Bliss ROM, and I'm getting fast battery drain on standby and my CPU is reaching 55c while swiping through the playstore or using whatsapp. Need to change kernel, other than Googy max (horrible experience with it due to throttling and lag)

[Q] Interactive vs. Ondemand

I have been experimenting with some various governors and have found that interactive and ondemand work best on the nexus 7. My question is which one will have better battery life on the nexus 7? Which one will have the least stuttering? Just curious. Everyone seems to state that interactive will be the better governor, but I tend to notice interactive heats up more in chrome. Anyone else notice this?
Any helps would be appreciated

When running low on battery I found conservative with runnable works the best for me. Undervolting by 50-100mV and running custom kernel plus ROM can also contribute. I always turn my WiFi and GPS off when not being used. I would not know of such imperceivable details between Interactive and Ondemand as battery, stutter or heat. Mine reaches 70 degress celsius under overclocked heavy benchmarking load.
For battery life, stick with interactive or conservative.
For less lag and stuttering, use ondemand or performance.

Wow, you couldn't be more wrong. You have it completely opposite. For better battery life, and not to have your frequency set to the highest value, almost at all times, go with ondemand. If you want less lag, and stuttering, but worse battery life, interactive.
Test it yourself with setcpu, and CPU spy, and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

G901F : CPU throttling issue with lollipop rom

Hello,
I've recently switched to lollipop with NovaRom 1.5.5 [5.0.2] and GUYVER Kernel v0.9, the ROM is great, fast and stable but I have CPU throttling issue when playing games.
After 5 minutes of playing, the CPU temperature rise to 60°C and the frequency drop to 1.2 Ghz. that causes games running at very low FPS.
I tried to disable touchwizz DVFS with Wanam Xposed : same problem
Tried to make changes in cpu governor/hotplug/thermal with Kernel Adiutor but issue still present.
I did not have this kind of problem on KitKat roms : once DVFS disabled with Wanam, CPU temperature stayed around 80°C at 2Ghz. The phone was a bit warmer but I was able to play games with a good framerate. Now the CPU is throttling like crazy...
If someone know a way to reduce (or control) thermal throttling on lollipop rom it would be great because I consider to switch back to KitKat for this reason.
Thanks

overheat

Hi I'm using redmi 2 prime and I'm on cm13 official ROM I have been facing a lot of overheating issue in stock miui ROM too but why is it happening 2gb ram is more than enough and do anyone know how much temp is harmful for my device I get up to 43 to 45 degree Celsius is it OK ??
That temperatures are not normal, I only get those numbers when all cores are running at maximum speed for some time. If you are getting this numbers on both OSs there must be something in common. Since you are on CM and rooted, you can do some tests.
First, to discard a hardware issue you should use a lower max frequency speed than 1200 MHz, use 800 MHz for some minutes and watch and feel your mobile temperature. I hope this will decrease that heat!
Second, if the heat went away, you should identify what is causing it. Typical heat causes are GPS and 3G/4G usage. Make sure these are off for now and list all those apps you are using on both OSs. Go to battery in settings and uninstall those apps which are consuming the most battery, one by one with maxspeed set to 1200 MHz and watch and feel your temperature.
Notice that recent nightly builds are being reported by users as draining battery too fast. If nothing is helping try an older nightly build, previous to 23rd august. Always do a nandroid backup, before updating your ROM and keep a close eye into official CM13 thread.
If you want a quick advice, do this downgrade first and restore your installed apps from a nandroid backup.
Try this CPU settings using Kernel Adiutor on Interactive Governor [Root Needed]
Can anyone give me the link for 0822 nightly of CM 13 official rom.

Try to flash custom kernel if you want to stay in CM13. Then dowload kernel adiutor to change CPU speed, hotplug and etc. We are here to help

Cm13 900f questions

Hello,
I'm currently running latest nightly cm 13 with boeffla-kernel.
I got two questions :
1. Is battery life that bad with cm? With all optimizations turned on, Governor to conservative, battery on efficient I still can't make it through the day, with moderate 2hrs screen on time
2.is fingerprint sensor supposed to work? Mine doesn't, it doesn't scan the finger when registering.
Thanks,
Catalin

Also, i have a fast charger (that other phones recognise with the "charging fast" message). This galaxy s5 doesn't charge, it just says charging and it takes the normal ammount of time for a charge. Is this because of the kernel or the phone?
Also also, what is the normal max cpu Ghz for this phone? I have a hunch boeffla is auto-overclocked since it says cpu max 2611 mhz.

You should have more battery.I use blisspop with lord boefflas kernel which is cm13 based and usually get 2:50 to 3:30 sot depending on the use.I use the interactive governor with the standard profile. Also the default cpu max freq is 2457Mhz if im not mistaken.About the fingerprint sensor, what version of cm are you using?Although the sensor on the s5 always seemed clunky to me.
hey i'm using cm13 4th of september nightly.

Custom Rom Guides (Gaming,Battery,Moderate)

Actually We cant move into Nougat becoz it doesn't support portrait mod fully so giving suggestions for Oreo Roms alone
Battery Friendly Moderately
OSiP. Illusion Project ROM
Its own kernel gives a great battery back up with Performance too
While playing PUBG on it Low setting does not heat up more than 50°C with Sun cooling
But There will be massive frame drops. Here and there.
Moderate usage Idle temperature is about 40°c-45°c
So this ROM is for Battery + Light gaming
2.PIxel Experience
Coupling with AR beast R6 Gives a great performance with little High temperature up to 55°C - 60°C
With sun cooling and KA MOD thermal throttling we can manage between 50°C
PUBG works well with 45-50 FPS.
Battery Backup is moderate.
Since PUBG is mostly played ....it gives 4 hrs of playtime with 80% of battery .
Moderate usage this ROM is beast in performance but battery back up is only 6 Maximum
With ATK you may gain 7-8 SOT
But again battery backup is based on usage pattern
3.BootLeggers ROM
Its new kernel comes with BFR underclocked so slightly low performance with battery combo
Gaming plus ,daily driver ROM ....
But this is Moderate type ROM
Conclusion :
This pattern is based on my usage
1.Battery
2.Gaming
3.Both Moderately
Don't blame me if u don't get same results
But actually this is my Experience in this summer holidays
