[Q] Franco Kernel Android 4.3

Will Current Franco Kernel (163) work with android 4.3? is it based on the 4.2.2? has anyone tried?
No it will most likely not work. I would not try any custom kernels on 4.3.X roms
Never know my old phone ran cm9 with a 2.3.67 kernel but the camera had some problems. That eventually got fixed. You could try.

Its a new branch of Jelly Bean using a older branch of Jelly Bean.... it won't work. No point in risking your device to a unbootable state.
Don't recoveries have their own kernels but like you said who wants to pull out their hair

Lol 4.3 isn't even released yet and we don't know if there is going to be a lot of kernel changes. Even if there are a lot changes I am sure a fix will be released very quick.

4.2.2 kernels arent booting on the 4.3 leak. there could be many changes, but most likely its because of driver changes. when kernel source gets released, we will know
No. If we had the source it would, usually some ramdisk mods need to be made

Marshmallow is here. So, what now about development ?

Official MM is finally here. Now what about rom's development ? Are there good perspective?

Once the source is released it will really help the cm13 based roms. But that's probably still a little ways off.

It's not official marshmallow, it's still a beta.

This is beta stable... Cause it is not public for everyone. They pushed to random users only to do final test and post your thoughts...

Nougat Beta

Just enrolled my nexus into the nougat beta program, but my question is probably a stupid one. I'm going to assume that in order for me to get the nougat update that I have to be on a stock or close to stock ROM ? Currently I'm on the latest resurrection ROM with MTC20F vendor IMG.
I apologize for my stupidity...

You need to be stock to install OTA updates

LOS & gapps

I'm on LOS nightly. Do you guys regularly update gapps? I know moving from one build to another you need to but what about in between? Thanks
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Meh I'd say that's up to you if want to update it you don't have to unless as you said moving from one build to another. But the gapps are updated pretty regularly usually every few days. Heres the link to the gapps that can be used on the S5 if want to update it https://github.com/opengapps/arm/releases
Thanks!
