It just means when it reaches 0% restart and it should be 100% again. Should do this twice before draining flat the 3rd time, its a software issue. Im not sure if there is a work around. At least your not me, buying a official replacement 2600mah battery only to see its really bad.

[Q] strange battery drain: fast to 1% and like that forever!

Hello!
I bought a new battery (original motorola) from amazon a few weeks ago and it drains in a strange way... it goes down from 100% to 1% in like 3 hours and then stays at 1% for 3 more hours... does anybody know the reason of this?
I already wiped battery stats (manually from recovery and with battery calibrator)... at the beginning i thought it was a matter of time, that the battery would have worked after a few complete cycles of charge but it didn't go that way!
thank you all!
Here goes a screenshot of my battery status... and i'm still using the phone at 1%...

I had the same problem with my phone when I got it and I tried everything with battery calibration and such.
In the end it was a mix of several problems:
1st my battery was crap. I tested all the batteries I could find on ebay from any company and I didnt have the 1% issue in the end anymore but the voltage was crap.
I got an original hf5x battery in the end, no drops and everything is fine.
Also try this:
Get Battery Monitor Widget Pro-->Calibration-->set the output voltage of the charger and read the data what the battery tells you.
The cheap ones say 1150 or so, my hf5x told my 1700.
Then charge-->uncharge-->... and battery monitor widget pro is dormant and calculates the real voltage of the battery. Then click on "Update mAh" and set it to the setting the app tells you to.
Thats your real voltage, no 1% issue in the end anymore.
Most possible that your battery is a fake which hasn't the required capacities. Is often happen with after-market batteries.
Thank you very much dude! Could this fix the "drops" problem of the original battery too?
I bought this one because the original one had 20% drops...

[Q] i9500 reboot issue

i have a galaxy s4 that has been water damaged, everything works on it except the dock which i am going to replace(i ordered the part)
i have installed on it the Omega rom v17
it is rooted and unlocked
here is my issue - the phone will reboot after a few seconds/minutes if the screen turns off or if i manually turn the screen off
is this a hardware or software issue?
and if hardware what part is causing the trouble?
also if software what can i do... (once i fix the usb dock i am going to restore it to stock -partition, firmware, kernal, etc..)
the phone was repartitioned with the adonis_c.pit file which gives you 11GB of internal storage instead of 8GB
Thanks
Also here's some more info
If the phone is playing music in the background and the screen turns off the phone won't reboot but if unplug the headphones from the phone or stop the music the phone will reboot upon screen timeout or turnoff

Better to dry your phone in Sunlight for one day (backside with removed battery) and then check if it presists then contact repairer it will tell you the problem. It seems to be HW Problem!

I am 99% sure your issue has to do with deep sleep CPU state. When the phone had no activity (screen off and no app in frontground) cpu get a idle state of non consumption. When your phone enters in this state, it fails and restarts.
Does your custom rom make undervolting? It could be a reason in low frequency...
If you are not sure, i would suggest to install, first, a different custom kernel compatible with your rom (or even reflash same kernel) and see if it fixes it. If not, install a stock rom just to be sure your issue is not because your custom rom. If issue persists after flashing stock rom, then i would be rather sure your motherboard is damaged (big problem).

Thanks, I have installed a custom touch wiz firmware, the phone is completely dry(I took a blow dryer to it, rice, and a toothbrush, and a few weeks of non use)
So I'm probably looking at a hardware problem if it continues to do it after I put everything to stock even partition
I will install stock in about a week from now(part eta is WED.)

No, deep sleep cpu state management is not a hardware component, but a software (kernel) feature which disconnects power supply to cpu when no activity. A malfunction of this software feature can be caused by both, or a bad firmware or kernel configuration, o a hardware damage causing the kernel malfunction. To be sure what of both options is causing your problem, you only can install a different kernel or a stock kernel and rom, and see if still happen... (if so, it is a hardware problem, motherboard damaged). Otherwise you will not be able to be sure which option is causing your issue.

That's unpredictable. It could be any oxidation in a chip pin, or bad impedance due to humidity between two pins in cpu (processor) chip or any of the rest dozens of chips in motherboard... A technical service would repair it by changing the motherboard by a new one (it is often too expensive to test all components in motherboard because the work time...)

Yes, sorry, i told you, if you discard a software problem, hardware fixing would pass across technical service and /or warranty. Maybe you can open it and see if you detect by simply watching any sign of oxidation and clean it, but very poor possibilities... The question is, did you discard a software problem by installing a different kernel or a stock rom? I absolutely would not discard this option...

i have checked the motherboard and there is corrosion, and i have tried cleaning it but i was unable to get it off.
it used to not turn on at all but i cleaned it a few weeks ago and it booted up
i just replaced the usb port but it still does not work correctly (software or motherboard issue)

Battery problem (stuck at 100%)

Hi, I'm using a 19505 and was on stock rom. One day the battery got stuck at 100%. I tried to flash other roms and nothing happened, and now I'm on a 4.4.2 Google edition rom. The battery is still stuck at 100%.
I've searched everywhere and still haven't found a solution. Please help!

The battery indicator is stuck at 100%. The battery itself drains. After a few minutes of heavy usage the phone just turns off.

Your battery is sn AA, so you don't have a factory damaged battery. Anyway this doesn't necessary mean your battery is not damaged. If i were you i would try with a second battery from any friend (or just buy it, it is cheap and so you will have got a second emergency battery) and see if same happen. I am almost 100% sure it is a problem with the electronic circuit inside the battery (not electrical problem) which provide status information data from the battery to the phone.

You cannot calibrate the battery using an app. Every app that claims that is lying. You could in the past but that was a long time ago.
I've same problem. Have someone solved it? How? Help asap pls

Download Repair Battery Life, and Advanced Battery Calibrator from Play Store.
@Uzair40:
Today's myth debunking: "The battery indicator in the status/notification bar is a reflection of the batterystats.bin file in the data/system/ directory."
--Dianne Hackborn, Google Engineer
Battery calibration apps do not work! The only thing they do is something Android itself already does: delete batterystats.bin. The only viable solution here is for the user to replace their battery, as the microprocessor in the battery itself is faulty and reporting an incorrect voltage, which Android translates into a battery percentage.
Calibration doesn't work. Battery is ok. I checked with other device. Baterystats.bin deleted and doesn't work.
thank you

I'm using 4.4.2 stock XEO and yes, this happen on every ROM. I downgraded from 5.0.1 to see if it would work but nothing changed.
You've tried the battery in another device and it works fine, so it's not the battery. This happens on every ROM, so the only possibility left is that you have a hardware problem on the motherboard itself.

So, I 'have to use to it. It won't be a problem but i won't know when my battery will be low. Is there any app that show real battery status? I'm asking because LED shows real status while charging. And sorry for my english but I'm still learning it.

Battery? Shouldn't at least turn on?

Hi i have a asus me400c windows tablet and one fine day after 2 years and 6 months of use and after going to the 0% of battery stopped charging, i can see the current orange light telling me that this current bound but not life, switch off the charger after a while, neither the battery weak intermittent signal is shown , will be necessary a new? shouldn't give life at least if the battery is connected the chain only?
Best regards and thanks guys for any support/help

Brand new battery charges way too fast?

So a few days ago I bought a brand new Samsung OEM battery and battery life is indeed better than what I had with the old one but I have a question that's bothering me. My phone charges for around 1h40mins from 0 to 100%. Is this ok? I'm on Nemesis Reborn v5 ROM using Espheni Kernel, fast charging is disabled in Kernel Audiutor app and I'm using a USB 2.0 cable with my original charger that came with the phone. Should I be worried that it says it needs only ~1h40mins to fully charge or it's fine? Worth noting is that it actually takes a bit longer than that, somewhere around 2 hours. But yeah, I don't know why it shows such a low estimate and am worried that something might not be ok. Any ideas? Right now I'm doing this just in case: https://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device#battery-issue

Hi again, my battery takes 1h50 to fully charge. This is what get the majority of users (search on youtube too, the S5 during charging tests takes the same time). I suggest you to enter *#0228* on your phone dialer (after unplugging the charger) and press "quick start"; then plug it again and charge to 100 %.
